All are welcome to join the Inaugural meeting of the Brighton & Hove Way Association....
On this rather gloomy autumn day I remember what a brilliant day we enjoyed in April when over 300 people from across our diverse communities joined me as Mayor of Brighton & Hove in pioneering a new pathway around our city: The Brighton & Hove Way.
Collecting thousands of pounds in sponsorship for the my 27 mayoral chosen charities, walkers also trod in the idea of the 27Km trail becoming a permanent way-marked route.
Now, with the support of council officers, and hopefully your help too, I'm aiming to found a Brighton & Hove Way Association; that will work to establish and care for the route and promotes its use.
Inaugural Meeting
Brighton & Hove Way Association
Council Chamber, Hove Town Hall
18:30 – 19:30 Tuesday 21st November
The B&H Way follows existing rights of way from Saltdean Oval to Emmaus Portslade. Including Castle Hill National Nature Reserve*, Stanmer Park and the Chattri Memorial, the B&H Way lets you discover some of best of the Brighton’s downland, while never being far from the city edge. Easily accessible by public transport and radial walking routes from the city, the B&H Way offers a great opportunity for more people, both residents and visitors, to get out and enjoy the richness of the South Downs National Park on our doorstep.
Lead charity Rise UK are planning another sponsored walk of the B&H Way in the spring, which will hopefully become an annual celebration of our city downland and communities.
If you would like to support getting the B&H Way up and running, recognised and well cared for then please come along and help found the Association. Please share the attached invitation, and also share and follow the progress on facebook. Please also RSVP.
