Recently shortlisted for the title of ‘Best Family Restaurant’ in this year’s R200 Awards, with a name like ‘Giggling Squid’ it’s hard not to like this authentic Thai restaurant chain that’s slowly spreading its tentacles across Sussex, Surrey and the deep beyond.
Owners Andy and Pranee Laurillard opened their first restaurant on Church Road, Hove back in 2008. With another restaurant in central Brighton, we’re pretty lucky to have this very best in traditional Thai food on our very doorstep.
On a wet and windy Sunday evening we decided to head down to Giggling Squid in Hove for a little culinary-escapism. We’d heard good things already and, with a menu that combines classics such as Massaman curry and Thai steamed mussels with the more unusual ‘Crying Beef’ and ‘Sleeping Honey Duck’, we were fairly confident it wouldn’t disappoint.
