What's going on in Brighton and Hove for Valentine's Day in 2018? There's a veritable feast of fun things to do, romantic evenings out and very special offers right here on our site...
Valentine's Day is celebrated on February 14 and, as usual, our beautiful city has come up with some fantastic special offers and ideas, with loads to do, see and buy and other ways to celebrate this Wednesday of love.
Here's a list of things to do and places to go for the love-inclined:
Enjoy your evening with a fancy dinner! Many restaurants and bars in Brighton and Hove are providing special Valentine's menus that are worth a look. Have a look at Terre a Terre's delicious menu and enjoy the brilliant food at this exclusive vegetarian restaurant in Brighton. For a spicy vegetarian like no other there are the Planet India restaurants in Brighton and in Hove (posher) with distinctive yet delicious dishes and a homely atmosphere. Or treat your loved one to an ambrosial dinner at Drakes Hotel, The Old Bank or Al Duomo.
If a candlelit dinner is too clichéd for you, then a ride up the famous British Airways i360 is something a bit different. They even do a special offer with sparkling rose and chocolates. Love really will be in the air!
How about a fabulous night out featuring a Stevie Wonder inpersonator? The Circle Arts Centre have a fun party night for you on Friday 16th February at 8pm. Book tickets here.
For all couples whose definition of a nice evening together basically consists of watching a movie but you don't want to stay at home on the 14th, we recommend you watch some of the best movies at The Duke's at Komedia. The original Duke of York's Cinema has a special Valentine's special screening of Casablanca on the Sunday before the big day.
Despite the general cold weather in February, a romantic walk along the beach, eating ice cream and watching the sun disappear behind the sea could melt even the most cold-hearted of persons. This could be a cheaper but a not less caring alternative to a crowded candlelit dinner.
Treat yourself to a relaxed shopping trip amongst Brighton's unique independent local shops. Thoughtful gifts could be had from shops like Sorriso Italian Designs on North Street or ethical perfumes from Eden Perfumes in the North Laine. There is a Valentine's Craft Market on Saturday at the Friends Meeting House in the Lanes if crafty gifts are your partner's thing. Also have a look at Daubs and Dashes, who create beautiful hand painted silk scarves that are inspired by different places around the world. Details here.
Don't miss out on the opportunity to make a really romantic gesture this Valentine's by buying something really special for your love at James Ross Jewellers. They've got beautiful jewellery and vintage Rolex watches.

There's plenty of low cost romantic stuff to do too. We're so lucky to live near the sea and a walk on the beach, hand in hand, is a Valentine's Day classic...
If you are single, you can always treat yourself by doing something different on Valentine's Day. There are lots of Meetups in town where people regularly get together to share common interests. It is a great way to explore the city and it's surroundings as well as grow your social circle, whatever your relationship status!
