The Auditorium Refurbishment is a step closer to being complete, we can’t believe how quickly it’s all happening and we’re absolutely amazed how different the Auditorium looks. The walls are currently being repainted and will be a beautiful shade of white when finished, the suspended ceiling is now in place which will help improve the acoustics within this space, perfect for the arrival of our brand new sound system. The wood effect floor is also in the process of being installed, making our Auditorium great as both a conference space and also for a range of sports activities.

The Gardening Group have been preparing for colder weather this week and have planted winter vegetables, such as Swiss chard, broccoli and onions, in the veg-bed. Honeysuckle and Virginia creeper that were kindly donated by a local resident can also be seen climbing up the car-park wall.

Fabulously Fun Food Focus

This week’s Fabulously Fun Food Focus is our amazing chocolate shortbread covered with rainbow sprinkles, with delicious caramel sandwiched between creamy milk chocolate and crumbly shortbread base, we think this is fabulous for a rainy day with one of our numerous speciality teas. Remember that we do a special offer where you can get any one of our cakes and a hot drink for £3- this includes coffee and hot chocolate.

The Helm Café is also excited to announce that a new head chef is starting on Tuesday 1st  September, keep your eyes peeled for some exciting new offers being launched the near future.

We hope all of our readers are having a wonderful week regardless of the rainy weather.  As always, you can get in touch with us via Facebook or Twitter, or pop in and see us at The Helm Café to let us know what you thought of this week’s Blog, we’d love to hear from you!
