We have been staying here for last 3 years or so once or twice a month as we have family nearby. We always stay either here, the Premier Inn Bury or Red Hall Hotel depending on the prices ofcorse. The village has always been my preferred choice and it has dramatically improved since it has been refurbished in the last few years, but since our daughter has been born we have always stayed elsewhere as the stairs from the car park put us off and there was no indication they had a lift. Having to carry baby, pram, travel crib and luggage up all the outdoor stairs sounded like a nightmare so we stayed else where. However we booked last minute and got a good deal so we thought we would just suck it up and make a go of it. We struggled up the stairs with all the bags and baby. We were even greeted by a staff memeber who was outside speaking to another guest. She said hello and welcomed us but neglected to mention there was well hidden lift we could have used. We checked in and we’re given a lovely quiet room by the receptionist (a different lady to the one outside) It was a bit of a trek, I guess they are quiet rooms because they are so far away, we had to take a lift to the first floor then walk to the other side of hotel through the corridors to get another lift down to the ground floor (guess it’s a funny shape hotel??) anyway the room was lovely, we were given an upgrade to a club room which had all the extras and it was a lot more spacious. It didn’t have a kettle but instead a coffee machine. We asked at reception and the same lovely lady arranged for us to have a kettle so we could make the baby’s bottles.
We ate at the hotel bar one night and the food was nice, usual burgers / pizzas etc then we had breakfast in the hotel restraunt and we were given a nice quite table in the corner so we could bring our pram in with baby sleeping. It was only then that we could see that there was a lift up from the car park. There is not one sign for it in the whole hotel and one small sign in the car park when you are literally on top of it. I guess it’s partly our fault for not asking but having stayed here many times in the past and never seeing any sign of a lift from the car park we just assumed there wasnt one. It did really annoy me that the lady at the top of the stairs had clearly seen us struggle with out 3 week old sleeping baby and all our luggage and don’t mention there was a lift.

For anyone that does need the lift it is the far side of the car park around the side of the hotel at the Starbucks side. Don’t expect to see any signs to help you find it. It’s also very small and oppressive, it’s big enough for a pram or wheelchair and one person to stand but we had to make two trips as we couldn’t get a small suitcase and travel crib in as well.

It is a lovely hotel and will carry on staying here but that is the reason it’s only getting 4 stars and not 5. That and the fact that there was scaffolding up along the front so all of the table and chairs had been removed so we couldn’t sit out in the sunshine. I’m sure that won’t be there for to long and the chairs will be back out soon

Generally the hotel was fine. However, there are 19 steps up to reception, which are a serious mobility issue.
Also, some of the breakfast items are no longer available, viz Rice Krispies, hash browns and butter.

In room coffe facilities are through a Tassimo. 1 Ridley to use 2 no decaffe available 3 no chocolate etching. We asked for and received a kettle and caches so we're very pleased.
In the leisure pool no tablets which is good but I do like to sit and read my kindle after a swim to dry off.

Nice friendly hotel, very comfortable beds, room very spacious. There was a good holiday vibe about the whole place. I would stay here again although had to get a taxi to the nearest metro tram station and then it was a straight easy trip into Manchester city

Lots going on functions, fitness club, guests, bar...Sorry that you need the staff to cope with this. Good comfortable bed, clean room. Corridor a little noisy when it is so busy. Seems strange that I can stay in the centre of London at a cheaper rate?

The hotel is a busy place with noisy guests using corridors until 1.30am at least. The fan in the room was full of dust. The staff were helpful and friendly. Check In and Check Out was quick and efficient.

Visted bar restauarant which was busy and very noisy. Hotel seems to cater for business types and hosts meetings so delegates gyrate to bar which is always busy. They also show sport on TV which seems to attract the drinkers so not a place to go for a quite drink and a bite.

We stayed her on the evening of May 10 th and had a lovely evening. The room was large and very trendy and the bed was large and extremely comfortable. I would have preferred a second pillow and/or a choice of pillow. That said, we slept extremely well. The reception staff are efficient and very helpful. I would seriously recommend this place. Thank you.

Very nice hotel, perfect place for a couple's weekend brake. Our Club room was very spacious and even had sofa in it, comfy bed, giant telly. Swimming pool experience was good too, they have steam room and sauna. Truly enjoyed my stay, would recommend!

Poor service in the restaurant and extra pillows required in standard rooms. Beds were a little too soft. I would advise to upgrade to the club room.

More attention is required to ensure the diners are not having to stop waitresses for drinks - ensure food is cooked before serving.

This is the fourth time of visiting this hotel and it is very good value for money and its location is ideal. Will certainly use again. Only hope the rooms are a little brighter elsewhere around the hotel.

Me and my boyfriend come here nearly every week to take advantage of the Sunday night special offer. We have never had a bad time! A special mention to Natalie and Emma on reception. They remember us and always ask how we are. They are so friendly and work extremely hard! They've made our stay special every time we come. See you next week!

I arrived at 6pm ready for one night stay for a workshop by The Speakmans on the Sunday at the hotel. Warm welcome at reception & the friendly lady helped me check in as I had no glasses on . She directed me to my room - 236 . I then must have taken a wrong turning as I walked round quite a while and nobody was around to ask which way to go, I eventually found it I was very hot and ready for a shower after all the walking. The room was lovely , coffee machine , huge tv , walk in shower was a nice treat , mineral water etc I asked for extra coffee water & milk which they brought in no time at all , would have been better if a fridge was supplied with milk in it , instead of using the tiny cartons , but none the less once I asked they brought extra. The bed was very comfortable, friendly staff and the event was quite simply amazing , beautiful terrace to sit out on a sunny Sunday , just wanted to stay longer . Thanks !
