Room was clean and up to date. The TV in the room was big and had a good choice of channels. The swimming facilities are good also. A buffet style breakfast is offered which has a varied selection and is tasty. Overall it’s a good hotel and is value for money. The surrounding area is ok, a short drive to a centre with shops, restaurants and a cinema.

My wife and I decided to stay here for two nights for a wedding at the hotel we checked the hotel out first to see what it is like we looked at the pictures of the room the facilities and when we arrived we were greeted with very nice and polite reception staff we had my wife's brother with us who suffers with dementia who had already been booked in by another family member, but the reception staff went out of there way so that he would be next to us all through our stay the reception staff were so helpful and polite and all the other staff members at the hotel were all so helpful and polite the room was really great clean bedding towels the bathroom was spotless the room was very clean and a nice big comfy bed big TV etc we were not disappointed and a hotel that does not charge for parking we would stay at any Village hotel again we just feel as a hotel they have got it spot on we would recommended this hotel as a good stay.

This is my least favourite Village Hotel. In this property the winning formula just doesn´t work as well as elsewhere. It´s getting old and tired, it´s full of kids in the week, and most of the staff appear disinterested. Not Rebecca or her boss in the restaurant who were excellent but the rest were very underwhelming. I got a great deal in price terms. Which probably tells a story..................

Stayed at the Village Hotel for a weekend and it was brilliant. Staff were helpful and friendly, the rooms are nicer than the photos show and the beds are wonderfully comfy. The only thing missing from the rooms is a mini fridge and a more generous serving of tea! We were 5 minutes away from the Metrolink and the hotel staff made us finding our way around super easy. Worth the 4 hour drive too! Would highly recommend.

I would rate this hotel higher if it were air conditioned, on a warm to hot night our room became "stuffy" & we ran a fan all the time for comfort. Its a nice clean hotel with most of the basics for us whilst travelling.

Came to visit the village for a 70s to 90s tribute night. Which was amazing food was excellent. We also used the spa and gym facilities which where all clean and to an excellent standard. Breakfast was also lovely. Keep up the great work.

Stayed for one night to attend a family wedding. Room was fine with the exception of the shower cubicle. The base had black mould in two of the corners of the on the silicone water seal. A minor thing but unexpected. Staff were superb and attentive. They went the extra mile to make our wedding celebrations special. Well done. Catering was brilliant. no complaints except the above. Would I stay in a Village hotel again - yes.

This was a great hotel situated close to the motorway for easy access. We were upgraded to a club room on arrival so we enjoyed a larger room and better facilities. The bed was comfortable and the shower was amazing with electronic controls. Breakfast was plentiful and not rushed. Definitely recommend.

I stayed here when going to the Etihad for a concert and it’s within 20 minutes drive from the stadium. The welcoming was lovely and they changed the room from a double to a twin with no hassle!! It was just a great stay. I was in room 131, we were on the inside so traffic noise wasn’t too bad.

Went for a girls night away last night after plans had changed and hotel was already booked on arrival at the hotel we where greeted by the lovely Natalie who was working on the reception desk! My booking was for a double room but asked would it be ok to change for a twin room instead!! Natalie changed this for us without any problem and handed over our keys we made enquiries about where to go for a night out in Manchester and she told us if we wanted she would write down some venues for us for when we where ready to go out and to call back at reception and she would give us the list and book a taxi for us!! No for 2 woman that dont know the area at all we found this very helpful and knowing the hotel uses a specific taxi firm was also good as we could get the same company to collect us later on. The hotel itself was lovely and clean and the rooms had everything u needed in it although could have supplied more coffee and milk in the room as we had to go ask for some more much later in the evening by which point the young lad on reception wasnt quite as welcoming as Natalie had been earlier in the day and felt like it was putting him out a bit but i was 330am and I dont suppose they get asked for coffee that much in the wee small hrs!! We didn't quite appreciate the 8am wake up call we had though it sounded like building work was being done right outside our window especially when check out wasnt till 11am! Although we appreciate work needs doing! it maybe nice to consider the guests that don't have to be up and out before check out!! But all in all it was a lovely hotel with fantastic facilities and just off the mway so easy enough to get into Manchester from there!! So a big thank you especially to Natalie for making our stay a good one 😁

We have been staying here for last 3 years or so once or twice a month as we have family nearby. We always stay either here, the Premier Inn Bury or Red Hall Hotel depending on the prices ofcorse. The village has always been my preferred choice and it has dramatically improved since it has been refurbished in the last few years, but since our daughter has been born we have always stayed elsewhere as the stairs from the car park put us off and there was no indication they had a lift. Having to carry baby, pram, travel crib and luggage up all the outdoor stairs sounded like a nightmare so we stayed else where. However we booked last minute and got a good deal so we thought we would just suck it up and make a go of it. We struggled up the stairs with all the bags and baby. We were even greeted by a staff memeber who was outside speaking to another guest. She said hello and welcomed us but neglected to mention there was well hidden lift we could have used. We checked in and we’re given a lovely quiet room by the receptionist (a different lady to the one outside) It was a bit of a trek, I guess they are quiet rooms because they are so far away, we had to take a lift to the first floor then walk to the other side of hotel through the corridors to get another lift down to the ground floor (guess it’s a funny shape hotel??) anyway the room was lovely, we were given an upgrade to a club room which had all the extras and it was a lot more spacious. It didn’t have a kettle but instead a coffee machine. We asked at reception and the same lovely lady arranged for us to have a kettle so we could make the baby’s bottles.
We ate at the hotel bar one night and the food was nice, usual burgers / pizzas etc then we had breakfast in the hotel restraunt and we were given a nice quite table in the corner so we could bring our pram in with baby sleeping. It was only then that we could see that there was a lift up from the car park. There is not one sign for it in the whole hotel and one small sign in the car park when you are literally on top of it. I guess it’s partly our fault for not asking but having stayed here many times in the past and never seeing any sign of a lift from the car park we just assumed there wasnt one. It did really annoy me that the lady at the top of the stairs had clearly seen us struggle with out 3 week old sleeping baby and all our luggage and don’t mention there was a lift.

For anyone that does need the lift it is the far side of the car park around the side of the hotel at the Starbucks side. Don’t expect to see any signs to help you find it. It’s also very small and oppressive, it’s big enough for a pram or wheelchair and one person to stand but we had to make two trips as we couldn’t get a small suitcase and travel crib in as well.

It is a lovely hotel and will carry on staying here but that is the reason it’s only getting 4 stars and not 5. That and the fact that there was scaffolding up along the front so all of the table and chairs had been removed so we couldn’t sit out in the sunshine. I’m sure that won’t be there for to long and the chairs will be back out soon

Generally the hotel was fine. However, there are 19 steps up to reception, which are a serious mobility issue.
Also, some of the breakfast items are no longer available, viz Rice Krispies, hash browns and butter.

In room coffe facilities are through a Tassimo. 1 Ridley to use 2 no decaffe available 3 no chocolate etching. We asked for and received a kettle and caches so we're very pleased.
In the leisure pool no tablets which is good but I do like to sit and read my kindle after a swim to dry off.

Nice friendly hotel, very comfortable beds, room very spacious. There was a good holiday vibe about the whole place. I would stay here again although had to get a taxi to the nearest metro tram station and then it was a straight easy trip into Manchester city
