This is a very busy hotel, running multiple weddings and functions with factory like efficiency. The gym is super popular and the pool is warm and inviting.

However the bar food is mediocre and the breakfasts are underwhelming. Cheap and cheerful food and coffee that makes you leave early and grab a Starbucks on the way out to get rid of the taste.

The lift was broken on Friday and still out of order on Sunday morning when we left causing people to carry cases, presents, babies and prams up and down from the second to the ground floor. There was a choice to go through the kitchen accompanying a member of staff and use the service lift but this was not ideal, it was still a long walk for a disabled person.
The staff were polite and friendly but incredibly rushed off their feet at times.

No issues with the rooms, they were comfortable, clean and modern. The dyson fan advertised does not include a remote control so it is full on or off, no timer, oscillation or level of control.

The pool changing rooms look great and they have good facilities but some signage would be helpful for people who have never been before. Otherwise you spend five minutes working on how to use the locker bracelet and looking for the entrance to the pool.

The absolute worst part of the stay was watching the masses of self righteous skinny jean wearing half wits driving pimped up cars showing off in the car park and parking in disabled bays to go the gym or just hang around loving themselves. It seams the tight pants must limit your ability to walk but don't require a badge. Go figure! This needs policing for the sake of decency and respect.

Although I've visited the hotel several times for business evenings this was the first time I had stayed there. It's conveniently located, has plenty of parking and generally a good place to stay. We ate in the pub at night and the meal was very good and reasonably priced, though like ost hotels the drinks are pricey. We didn't use the Starbucks or leisure facilities but both looked busy and popular. The rooms are clean and tidy with very comfortable beds and the bathroom was modern and clean with an excellent shower. A large TV makes watching in bed comfortable and convenient. Breakfast was fine and the food plentiful and of good quality. All in all we enjoyed our stay, the staff were all friendly and helpful and we would not hesitate to use the hotel again.

Enjoyed a two night break, upgraded to a club room. Very comfortable bed but didn't have all sky channels that I thought were included. Drinks are expensive in the pub and we ate in the pub and restaurant, both didn't have what we wanted off the menu but food is generally good and all staff were very pleasant and friendly. Would always recommend village hotels as good value for money and leisure facilities are great!

A spotless and stylish room with everything you might need. We enjoyed the restaurant meal on the first night and the breakfast was excellent in the morning. The pool is large and airy.
I would recommend for couples but I would be happy to come back with the children too.

The hotel and rooms were clean, staff were very friendly, food was lovely, I am sorry I didn't et to the spa and pool, but it looked great from the balcony view. We didn't venture far away from the hotel, as we were attending a wedding, and we then stayed for a second day and night

New booking system is a pain. I've been waiting 45 minutes on my arrival to resolve issues around the system, which showed no room availability. Other then that everything is superb: staff friendly and helpful, hotel clean, food delicious. Recommend

On entry we were greeted by a digital check in. Not really my thing so I was grateful when a lovely member of staff checked us in and got us sorted with directions to our room. Thankfully only on the first floor as lift in reception was out of order. Our room was fab. Bright and airy. Very modern. We'd paid for the upgrade and certainly feel it was worth it. The bed was really high, comfy but high and the tv was fab. We are novices when using the Tassimo machine and after several attempts to figure it out we gave up. We made full use of the spa and felt the facilities were good. We couldn't find any wet kit bags or a costume dryer which we've found useful in other hotels. For food we headed to the Waterfold pub across the car park and we weren't disappointed. Great food at a good price. Fantastic cakes. We didn't hear any hotel noise at all even though there was a wedding and large groups around the hotel. We slept well and loved the air machine in the room. Breakfast was a short wait and a good spread for a help yourself. Food was very tasty and staff were courteous and polite. Back to room to check out. A fab stay for our anniversary. We spoke with Ashley on reception who was great at sorting out an error on our receipt. Fab customer service - much better than digital.

Eat in both the pub and restaurant, staff friendly and accommodating.
Bathroom floor can get a bit slippery when getting out of the shower
Light from the hall can be annoying - used a pillow to block this out!

My bridal rooms where miles apart from the rest of my bridal party and the reception did not want to help I had to ask to be down graded a room when I had paid for a club just so I could near my bridesmaids for my wedding photography on the morning of wedding the stress I was caused for my first 3 hrs on arrival was a joke , it is clear that this hotel does not want to know unless you are getting married there you are not priority to them

I have stayed with the village previously in Edinburgh and couldn't fault it, went the little extra and upgraded to the club and felt it was a big let down. Bed was great but woken early by cleaners as was in the room right opposite there cleaning supplies

Arranging a to Bury we once again booked our stay at the Village Hotel.
Having stayed several times in the past it was once again our first and it seems, best choice.
Since our last visit the hotel has undergone an extensive refurbishment and we were perhaps a little a apprehensive that this was at the expense of the friendliness and attention to personal detail that we had come to expect. How refreshing to see any fears we might have had dissipate on arrival with a warm, friendly and knowledgeable receptionist who welcomed us and immediately offered us an upgrade to a quieter part of the hotel as it was very busy with guests.
Our short stay sadly came to an end all too quickly and we were delighted once again with our stay there. Would we come again? Certainly,

I picked this because I am 6 times a week gym goer and when I travel I like to exercise. This for me is just perfect. It is in a good location and first all it has loads of parking! which for a business traveller is essential. The check in fast and quick. The rooms are a bit hard to find, which sounds silly but the hotel is split in the middle by a bridge so it you are on 1st floor at back you have to go up to go down again. Rooms are lovely clean and the shower great. The Gym and pool are just excellent .I did 4 classes in total 3 evening ones and early morning spin plus used the gym and it was great. I did not use the pool but it looks great. The only slight disappointed was the food, the bar food was not that great, the restaurant was better and the ribs where very good. It also has an on site Starbucks great for your early morning coffee

Stayed in a club room at the front of the hotel. Spend money on the windows rather than fancy carpet! Room also felt it didn't have enough furniture. Space is nice if used properly. New check in process is good but I arrived late and had to find someone to help me. Not ideal at 11.30pm. Have stayed here before and like it but this was not a good experience.

Stayed one night on a visit trip and was well impressed. Upper deck room was lovely with a great attention to detail. No bath but lovely big shower. Gym was well stocked and a great experience. Small fresh fruit portions at breakfast was a disappointment.

The rooms are pretty standard, the pool and gym is amazing and the restaurant is excellent.
The only fault for me is I feel the price is a little steep, for what you're getting.
Though the beds are comfy and breakfast is well presented.

Thought we would treat ourselves after a week of Premier Inns whilst travelling on business. This looked great on the web so we decided to book eventhough £50 per room more expensive. Food was great in the bar and restaurant. My colleague had a nightmare with his room moving 3 times. First room was already occupied and Second room was dirty and they said they would clean but it never was and he was moved to a 3rd room. I should say that he got 1/2 his money back but we did expect more for the money

Booked this hotel as part of a Groupon deal for my other half's birthday. Wasn't sure what to expect but upon driving up to the hotel I was pleasantly surprised by how immense it looked from the outside. We were both very pleased and it had the desired affect. Checking in was nice and simple as it all automated. We were given a Club room despite not paying for the upgrade - am not sure if this was to do with a note I left on the booking form about his birthday or just because they were no other rooms available - it was massively appreciated though as it was a lovely room. HUUUUUGE bed, HUUUUGE TV and a lovely bathroom. Bit of a trek from the reception but not enough to really have any kind of impact on our stay. The room was nice and clean but the only thing that let it down was the leaky (read floody) shower. Something wasn't quite right with it and water ended up going all over the floor - less than ideal.

The food in the Verve Grill was amazing - it was so tasty and the service was exceptional. Would definitely recommend the pate, chicken lollipops and the chocolate brownie - all three were delicious :)

Overall our stay was wonderful, was very reluctant to leave. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend anyone looking at staying in Manchester to book here. So easy to get to and from Manchester and only £14 - £19 in an Uber. I look forward to trying out some of the other Villae Hotel brands around the country.

We stayed one night in this hotel because we were looking for a place to host a reunion of a few friends and family members in the area. We were on our way home from attending a wedding and had decided to make a detour for this purpose. From that point of view, it was fine: the Sunday lunch was enjoyed by all our guests. There was plenty of variety and the price was reasonable. Parking is more than adequate and the hotel/restaurant is easy to find. The staff were friendly and efficient. I would certainly recommend the restaurant, if our experience was any guide.

However, one reason it's easy to find is that it is situated in an industrial estate, so I wouldn't say the surroundings are pretty. Our room looked out onto an adjoining roof. The room itself was large and included a sofa. The bathroom was fine in general but so streamlined that there was nowhere to put anything in the shower - not a single bit of shelving, so shampoo etc had to go on the floor. The shower itself was excellent - lots of hot water.

My main problem with the entire experience was communication. I lost count of the number of times I had to try in order to get through on the telephone. Booking the room and booking the meal had to be done separately but rarely was the telephone answered and, even when it was, I was usually transferred to another line, where there was no answer. I needed to increase the number of participants for the meal at one point and dreaded trying to do it - a dread which proved to be valid because I had to call four times before succeeding. When we got there I could see the problem - one employee in the main reception area and another by the restaurant, both trying to do too much so ignoring the ringing telephones much of the time. If the hotel would put more staff on duty, I would certainly consider going back, but not until then.

Staff - friendly no issues. 1 person on reception meant you had to wait sometimes.
Eating - restaurant had no atmosphere and was like a morgue, food ok but menu limited. Breakfast good but turn the lights up it is so dark in there. Pub was your standard pub chain standard.
Gym/Swimming pool - top notch.
Room (upper deck) - great TV, dyson fan, tassimo machine that had hair and gunge in the water tank. No kettle which was annoying as brought my own tea bags.
Bed comfy but duvet heavy.
No air con in room, windows and blinds bit shabby.
Shower ok but leaked water over bathroom floor ( no bath )
Wi fi good speed. No safe.
No room service!
