I was staying here for work in the area for a couple of nights. The room i was in looked like it has been fairly recently refurbished (possibly in the last six months), not a large room, but with nice decor and well presented (note that there was a large shower and no bath). There was a good fan provided, which was used on a particually warm night.
The wifi was good throughout my stay.
I had one breakfast at the hotel, which was good - a decent buffet selection of hot and cold items. The second day I chose to have breakfast at Starbucks in the hotel, so there are good options available (this was more cost effective than the hotel breakfast).
I didn't like that on checkout I wasn't given an opportunity to check the bill as they charged it to my card and then emailed the invoice, this resulted in me having to call later in the day to rectify an incorrect charge on the bill (this was resolved quite easily, but it would have been nicer to be able to do this face to face on check out rather than having to check and call them back).
It's a very large hotel with a variety of facilities, but I didn't make use of any of these during my stay. Good loaction of the hotel, it is possible to walk in to the main shopping centre from the hotel and very close proximity to the motorway.

Stayed here on a Sunday night deal £10 per room if you spend £50 in the hotel on food and drink. Have stayed here before but rooms are newly renovated ...gorgeous...new carpets...bathrooms ...
decorating, huge tv. We only booked the standard room so I am unsure if the upper deck rooms have been renovated. We spent some time in the gorgeous pool sauna and jacuzzi. We decided to eat in the pub rather than restaurant due to price but our meals were lovely and good value. The only fault was that our room was on the first floor and appeared directly above the function room where a wedding was taking place. We could hear their disco until 12.30pm but are not early to bed people so we just watched a film which we would have done anyway. Breakfast was excellent... Worth the £10 pp charge. Will definitely stay again.

Good location and price but disorganised and in need of good housekeeping. More and better trained Staff needed. The room was nice and in good order but the public places were dirty and the outside, on arrival, was a terrible first impression with cigarette butts and litter strewn everywhere.

I was very tired from driving for six and a half hours, but, as the room was facing the car park which was near the M66 motorway, I could not sleep as I could hear cars going past all night. Moreover, at 3am in the morning, some young people were making a din outside my bedroom, and my neighbour was banging doors!
For these reasons, I did not sleep all night!
I complained about the disturbance, but all I was told that these people were leaving that morning! I can't say I was too happy with their reply.

Friendly staff well situated hotel to get to Manchester/Trafford centre etc without being in city centre.
Free parking but couldn't see where there was any disabled access as there was steep stairs to climb from car park.

After paying only the offer price I wouldn't have liked to pay the full price as the room was overlooking a flat roof. There wasn't even a biscuit to go with our coffee. The hotel was very noisy with room doors slam mind shut all night.

Paid for extra bed but despite arriving at six the room was not ready. The bathroom floor was soaking after using the shower and the extractor fan did not work. The bedroom was dark and had awful striped wallpaper.

Not loving the self check in but I guess it hurries things along at busy times.
Rooms are very clean nicely decorated and beds very comfy
Down sides are no mirror to sit and do your make up, shower whilst looking the part with 2 heads has very low pressure so takes forever to get your conditioner out and only one large towel (yes you could ask for more but didn't realise until to late)
Bar prices a bit steep

Rowdy drunk people , loud music up to 3 in the morning, cleaners then waking you up in the early hours
Total waste of money would not recommend this place at the weekends especially if you are staying on business

Lovely spacious hotel. Got an offer for £20 for a double room for the night so an absolute bargain. Has a restaurant and a "pub" onsite so you can't go hungry or thirsty. Lady on recption very welcoming. Rooms nice and spacious and clean, comfy nights sleep.

Have just stayed here for five nights ,it's good value for a three star hotel food is good staff are friendly ,booked the club room which I can recommend , great gym facilities and a good pool . the one big problem was a group of gypseys moved into the car park ,it was a new experience for me there children were running in and out of the hotel begging for money from everyone , they hung there washing on bushes and trees in the car park I'm not sure what the outcome will be but it spoiled our stay a little

We visited the Verve Grill at The Village Hotel Bury on a Living Social Deal voucher.
The whole experience was very enjoyable - Courteous and polite staff- good quality food and a pleasant ambience.
We chose the hot and sticky ribs starter which was absolutely delicious. For main my wife chose the Haddock fishcake served with char grilled asparagus, a pea shoot salad and came topped with a poached egg. I opted for the house burger which came topped with cheese and bacon and a side of crispy fries, Both dishes were tasty and well presented.
Definitely worth a visit especially on a voucher deal.

Nice hotel but ruined by noisy neighbours in room above clumping about till well after 1am. Very rude waiter brought the wrong dish for dinner and simply wandered off when I pointed it out. Then had to go hunting for another waiter to get the correct meal.

Mainly very good have now stayed many times and improvements made are for the better. I like the Club rooms in the annexe to the hotel as you have a view of the river and it is quieter than the rooms in the main hotel part. I always ask for a room in the area preferred.

We booked a double room for a 2 night stay while attending a family wedding. The online booking was very easy and included breakfast. We had just completed a 4 hour journey so were looking forward to getting into our room and enjoying a meal in the restaurant. However on entering the hotel there was a queue at the reception and we were told that the computer system had crashed. The couple in the queue in front were booked into the wrong room and it was unsettling to witness the exchanges between the customers and the hotel staff .It was another 30 minutes before we finally were allocated a room but not before the room attendant had to go and check to make sure that the room was actually unoccupied and ready for us.After all the commotion we realised it was almost 10PM. so we just decided just to order room service. We did not even receive an apology for the delay.Other than the initial inconvenience,I would say the room facilities were very good although the view across the rooftop was less than inspiring but the breakfast staff were very friendly and helpful.
