We stay at The Village Hotel whenever we come to visit our family in Manchester. Always a warm welcome on arrival. It's also a great meeting place for family to come and meet for breakfast, meals, drinks, we find the hotel good value for money.

Would be nice to receive a respond- make more soundproof the walls and door closures so adjacent rooms/occupiers get comfortable sleep. Repair/Replace broken things before using the rooms again. More staff on reception to deal with customers concerns

i was in manchester for my fathers 60th birthday and decided to stay over because other reviews said it had a spacious gym and leisure facilities they weren't kidding! unlike previous hotels ive stayed at with piddley little gyms with maybe the odd treadmill and a few weights, the gym was a substantial size, the gym staff were friendly and there knowledge was extensive, one guy in particular put me together a 20 minute 'blast class' on something that he called a sinergy?! ive never worked so hard and enjoyed it so much. the changing rooms were clean, if a little dated. Then time for a swim, the pool was of a good size (25meters) swam a few lengths then had a Jacuzzi to relax and all before breakfast! when i arrived at the restaurant i was shown to my seat and then told to help myself to the breakfast selection. the breakfast was good and the staff in the restaurant were friendly too.i went back to my room paccked up my things and then went to check out, now normally this can be a painful process but even though there was a little wait maybe 30 secs or so the receptionist said sorry for the wait and asked how my stay was, to which my reply was 'it was perfect' in conclusion i will definatley stay here next time im in manchester, friendly staff throughout and a lovely atmosphere too!

Stayed here recently for 2 nights with my partner and the hotel as a whole was second to none! In A great location only a stones throw away from the town centre. The facilities in the leisure club were excellent and staff were very welcoming! Even encouraged us both to take part in a Boxfit class (something i wouldnt usually think of doing)!! Which i have to say was one of the best classes i have ever taken part in!
The room was outstanding value for money with a very comfy bed!! We also ate in the pub in the evening and food was excellent along with great service from the staff!

Will definately return!!

Stayed here recently could not fault it. Room was spacious and very comfortable, Nicely decorated with good tea/coffee making facilities. Large flat screen tv in the room also. Bathroom was very clean also.
I took advantage of the gym and pool facilities which were both excellent.
Leisure club staff extremely helpful with a fantastic range of classes .

I have been to over 100 different size events at the Village Hotel, and was a member of the gym for many years. The pool and sauna are the perfect place to unwind, the Victory Pub has a great menu & atmosphere, and the staff, especially Julie, are the best! I also call in several times a week for the Starbucks...great coffee! Simon - Owner Jacob's Ladder Property Consultancy Ltd.

I stayed at the village Bury with my family and had the most amazing stay, staff could not been anymore helpful especially in the leisure club they went out of their way to make friends with my children when I took them down swimming they organised a member of staff to show me all the facilities and how to use them as it can be a bit daunting going down on your own with two children but they made it really easy and I felt very comfortable would recommend this hotel to everyone truly amazing and I will definitely be going back.

We stayed here for my husbands birthday this month and Village delivers yet again. Lovely, helpful staff, clean, modern rooms and great quality food & drinks. We visited the Spa for massages and facials, it really is a must for anyone wanting to relax and be pampered :)

Ive stayed here before and the staff, facilities and food are all first class but the only thing that let it down was the condition of the bedrooms, so I was delighted to see that they have started on a refurbishment. I didn't get to stay in one of the new rooms but one of the room maids kindly showed me and they look great, really contemporary with huge TVs and lovely new bathrooms, just what it needed here to be honest. Cant wait to come back and try them out.

Don't really want to expand on what I have already said. We enjoyed our stay and may well use the hotel again next time we visit relatives and friends in the Manchester area. The only weak note of our stay was perhaps the Abba tribute show. My wife wondered why it was just two female singers!

Went to the village in Bury on 23/01/16 for a SPA day with 2 friends. We did the SPA pick and Mix for ÂŁ40 which we thought was very reasonable. You get to use the Leisure facilities for the day as well as a treatment and an afternoon tea.
When we got there we went to the SPA reception and went from 1 reception desk, to another round the corner and then back to the first reception desk. This annoyed me and we kind of felt like we were spare parts and when we had got round to first reception desk again and then people who were waiting behind us just kept going in front of us and we seemed to find ourselves stood there like we were in the way and the guy on reception just let it happen. Why have 2 reception desks next to each other and keep them separate, surely it would be more beneficial to put them together then you don't get people who have never been there before feeling lost? When we went round to the second reception desk they hadn't got us as a spa day - just treatments and it was only when we said about using the pool that things started to click. They then had to adjust the booking and order extra afternoon teas. I started to get more annoyed at this point as I had specifically mentioned the pick and mix spa day a few times.
Anyway we carried on and once we had got all the errors of communication out of the way in the spa things started to get better.
The pool is lovely and there are a choice of hot jacuzzis and pool temperature Jacuzzis too. We didnt venture n the pool or the stam room or Sauna and the pool had people swimming laps. Those people were just too fit for my liking. I wanted a relax and sit kind of day.
Anyway loved the pool area and managed to get a sunbed where i got to read some of my book and loved the treatments, very nice and relaxing by all in my little party.
Went for the afternoon tea to be told that it was just a cup of tea and a sandwich by the lady behind the bar and then when it came out was a lovely sandwich, pot of tea, little cake (that seemed to have been out of the freezer for a short time as it was really cold and a cute little scone. Overall the afternoon tea was quite nice.
so to sum up - communication is very lacking but everything else was lovely and we had a lovely day.
Will definitely go again.

We stayed at the village as we were attending a funeral, the staff were fantastic,a few minor problems but everything sorted very quickly,Only negative comment is when relaxing in the lobby it's very cold with doors opening, poor reception staff must get really cold as we were.

We got an overnight stay with breakfast & evening meal package with an upgrade. The room was clean and the bed super comfortable so had a wonderful sleep. We ate in the restaurant but not very impressed. Menu was limited & I was very sick after eating the salmon. However, the breakfast was very nice but did have to wait a while to be seated.
We did pop into the Motown themed event downstairs which was lively and a lot of fun and barring the food we did have a good night. I would return but probably wouldn't eat in the restaurant. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming and a real credit to the company x

6 of us visited the Village for a Soul and Motown tribute night. The event was predominantly hen and female birthday parties. There were probably 8 men in the room and 3 of them were in our party. We had a good night but drinks are expensive and the food is basic and not very plentiful. The room was well presented and clean but very hot. The hotel is near the motorway and it can be very noisy with the traffic especially with the window open. Not really worth the ÂŁ94 we paid for the room but you would be happy if you went on one of the ÂŁ20 per night offers.

Great facilities with this hotel however the rooms are very dated. Bathrooms especially are very tired looking. Also the temperature in the bedrooms in the morning was close to tropical! The gym, food and on site Starbucks were all great, can't comment on breakfast as I didn't use. Very friendly and attentitive staff notably a very smartly dressed restaurant manager.

This was a very brief overnight stay for business so little chance to explore the hotel facilities. My room was pleasant and clean. However, my colleague who arrived first found that the business booking had been lost and staff had to identify two rooms - apparently my colleague's room was awaiting refurbishment so wasn't great quality.

I booked a spa day for 2 which included access to the gym, sauna, pools, afternoon tea then a couple of massage treatments, the whole day was lovely and relaxing, the treatments were amazing the staff were very welcoming and friendly, I was sadly very let down by the 'afternoon tea' or in other words a butty and a coffee. if it was advertised as a sandwich and a coffee then that would have been fine but the fact that I work in catering and make afternoon tea on a large scale every day I was disappointed at what I received although it was nice I just find it should not be advertised as afternoon tea.
