Great stay. Stayed here a few times. Rooms spacious and bed comfy.
Clean and tidy. Ate and drank in the bar. Food was nice and the staff friendly. Will definitely be staying here again in the future xx

We had a comfortable stay . The rooms were gloomy but that may be to some peoples taste. All the staff were helpful and polite. A great place to meet up with friends. Just sorry we didn't have time to use the pool.

Excellent service, warm and friendly staff, great value for money, food was piping hot and served with a smile, the restaurant had a nice feel to it, the rooms were clean and well presented, breakfast was an experience, so much food on offer it would keep you going for the the rest of the day.

We stayed on a fab offer £20 per night.
Loads of parking spaces.
Immediately off the roundabout into Bury.
Nice check in staff.
The only slight gripe is the room - the decor is too dark and it feels a bit cell like and depressing - not a wonderful view BUT as I was looking out of the Window the flying Scotsman chugged by- so really no complaints and thank you village inn for putting that on for me ( not sure how they worked out I am a steam train fan lol ).
The pub across the car park had marginally nicer food ( we are in both places) with more choice and much better value for money.
Not keen on automatic service charge- would have left a bigger tip but hey ho.
Gym brill like the idea of segregated work outs .
Pool mega . Only downside was teenagers using foul language in the sauna but that can occur anywhere.
Room air con a bit hit and miss and we had an adjoining room so could hear next door breathing- a bit off putting.
Not the most inspiring coffe/ tea tray but adequate.
Check out no issues and a Starbucks on the way out.

Lovely stay overall.

The rooms where clean and spacious, we did the upgrade to upper deck. Tea and coffee making facilities good, although no biscuits. Good shower. Overall not to bad for the price. Room did get a little chilly at some points but there is a thermostat in the room which is good. Staff where OK at check in but found staff in the Starbucks to be a little rude, giggling and wispering to each other whilst doing our order, made us feel a little talked about. Didn't eat at the restaurant as we had made reservations else where. The pool area was nice, probably not as nice as the images online but still decent. We went at 4pm on a Friday and it was very busy with children. The jacuzzi was busy and being hogged by the same people but we managed to get in there for a few minutes. Our stay was not as relaxing as we had hoped.

I arrived at the hotel and parked up in one of the many free spaces available. Some of the usual "big vehicle" crowd had occupied the disabled bays without any blue badges on display. Hey ho. I was greeted with a smile at Reception and the lady explained the restaurants, gym and breakfast arrangements. So off I went to my room.

The Room: the room is perfectly acceptable for the job. Once again no biscuits; how are the biscuit manufacturers going to stay in business if the hotel chains have stopped buying them? It was minimally equipped in terms of coffee sachets and tea bags; two of each for an overnight stay. Soaps are in squirty dispensers and one large, one small and one floor towel is supplied for the single occupancy that I had booked. The less said about the view the better; even Basil Fawlty could not have talked it up.

The bed was comfortable. The bathroom, with shower over bath, was fit for purpose. The grouting around the shower had some embedded orange slime and needs a proper clean as does the mouldy sealant on the foot of the glass shower door. The bath side panel is also looking a bit worse for wear. That said, unless you are going to lick the tiles or grout, it is usable and clean enough.

A nice touch was the three light switches each side of the double bed so you can control all of the lighting from the bed.

The TV was a bit of a roller coaster ride. It is a new looking Philips with a 36" screen (that's an estimate) so looking good... except you need to know how to turn it on. Please don't use the red 'on' button on the remote; that would be too obvious. The TV power LED just goes green to tease you but fails to turn on. You need to press the 'channel up' button of course! The pictures on all channels is grainy, not the HD or even SD that we have in our homes, never mind 4K. The five main channels are available as are Sky News and Sky Sports 1 & 2. Perhaps a laminated sheet with the channel numbers and channels and how to turn on the TV would help. Time to get off that TV roller coaster.

In common with some other hotel chains the wardrobe has no doors so it's going to be difficult to leave anything behind. Curiously there is an ironing board and iron supplied complete with plastic jug to fill the iron's water feature. If I had known I would have packed the ironing basket. (I lied there).

The room furniture was either 70s Retro or 40 years old and still in good condition, probably the former. Either way it was clean and comfortable. The stripy motif is carried through from the corridor carpet to the room carpet and bed runner (how did we cope before bed runners?). There is even a phone in the room but not a Trim Phone which would have been in keeping.

The internet connection was perfect. Just open a browser, enter your e mail address and away you go. It even remembered me throughout the stay. The speed was adequate for my needs though it buffers on the higher res YouTube videos. I was also able to log on to the company VPN without any issue. Good Work by the hotel IT department.

The Gym. You need to sign in to get past the turnstile but it is all free. It is a big well equipped gym. The equipment is looking well used but all was in good working order. Plenty of PTs patrolling to ask how to use the machines if you need to. Those working out were friendly enough. I did not try the pool but it looked nice; towels and lockers are provided in the Gym should you decide to have a swim.

The 'Verve Grill' Restaurant. There is not a separate TripAdvisor section for this restaurant so here is my feedback. Service was good. One waitress showed me to my table, another took the food order and a third did drinks. The food, chicken thyme, was tasty and there was plenty of chicken. There could have been a few more veggies though. It has that annoying small print on the bottom of the menu whereby they add 10% service charge automatically (don't get me started!) and, as I was on company business I could not be bothered to ask the waitress to take it off. Whilst the service was friendly and effective it was no more than I would expect... take order, deliver food, come back and check it's ok, clear the table. No worth the extra 10%! Maybe I would have done but the food was nice and the waitresses polite and friendly.

Breakfast. I went down for breakfast and got shown to a table then offered a choice of tea or coffee. The waitress forgot to tell me it was self-service but I soon worked that out for myself. I then helped myself to the choice of about 10 cooked English Breakfast items; the usual suspects being present. Hot and tasty, it set me up for the day. I also grabbed an apple for my mid morning snack.

Checkout. A different Receptionist checked me out; prompt, polite and efficient. Later I could not find the receipt so I phoned back and had one e mailed to me in seconds. Later I found the receipt. That saved some scanning when submitting the Expense Report; perhaps it should be offered as standard.

This hotel is very close to one of the offices I work for and I will aim to re-use on subsequent visits. Overall it is clean, has friendly staff and is value for money. It's also close to the motorway network without any noticeable noise or fumes. What more can you ask for?

We've used this hotel on several occasions over many years whilst visiting friends! Last time we were in an upgraded room, this time we were not, so to be fair, not a direct comparison. Evidence of the degradation of time including paintwork needing attention, some lamps/lights not working (a problem when general decor is on the lowly lit side in style). Small bed with very soft mattress. We had 2 rooms, one for 2 teenage boys who were also disappointed. I love the Village model and have used other locations, but Bury is due investment. It was party season so we can forgive the late night music. It was quite funny listening to the Xmas playlist in the distance, they never change! Staff great but extremely busy.

We stayed for 1 night with the January sale, got the room for £20.00 which was brilliant.
We stayed in room 154 which was a bit tatty and really cold.
It is the loadest hotel I have ever stayed in, there was kids running up and down outside the room, the room next to us had music on for about 2hours full blast and we could hear the people on the next floor up walking around.
We went to have a drink and sit on the seats in the Foyer but it was like sitting outside it was that cold, I felt sorry for the girls on the desk they must of been freezing.
Not sure if I would stay again I think you would have to go upper deck.

One of the worst village hotels I have been in. We arrived 30mins easy for a 3pm check in and told the rooms were not ready and it would be 3pm. On sitting and waiting customers turning up at 2.35 were checks in and not told to wait, two staff just wanted to make a point and then caused a big queue . We had received vouchers for the restaurant and when true to book for a evening meal were told fully booked and only open until 7 pm. On the first night it seemed the hotel was full of asileum seekers and the bar was serving drunk's, the second night was fine. The hotel was full of children which over ran the swiming pool. Breakfast was fine.
Stay was 1st Jan to 3rd Jan 2016

We were in the area to visit family. The facilities there are excellent and the food quality in the restaurant was good. We will stay again.

Travel to Bolton often and due to a price promotion selected to stay over with a young couple.
Hotel easy to find with a large free car park, a standard village inn same set up with reception, pub, grill and leisure facilities
opted for a room on the upper deck, a little more expensive but been worth it in the past, Bose docking stations previously and used them as a phone charger....... Not available,TV great screen unable to change channels successfully due to u/s batteries as we found out as we left? Allocated room 117 sink has some cracks in the ceramic that were sharp on the finger
To be fair to Sophie in the pub when we visited it was very busy and she tried so hard, however 4 meals below standard, a chef that sent Sophie back when we complained a fish burger had no fish in it " it must have been taken by us as he cant batter nothing" To be accused of a lie is not good. The other issue in the pub was the doors are never closed and the wind just blows in cold air, groups of guests were sat in coats, we fortunately had an area sheltered from the breeze.
the leisure facilities were as normal of a high standard, if you have not done the village inn before it's a good experience
Check out was done without a hope you enjoyed your stay or even a smile, is that the way guests expect to be treated ?
Sorry as I say we visit the area often but will avoid the food part of this hotel if we do use again
Tip no locker locks in the men's changing area you need a small padlock, secondly there is a pub on the same estate that serves food. Save money and get hot food.

Stayed at this hotel a few times for business. Really nice hotel, very helpful staff. My room was upgraded every time I stayed (maybe because I arrived quite late).
Food is served in both the restaurant and the pub which has sports on the big TVs all night.
The pool is nice too with a small sauna for a little R&R after work!

Okay accommodation. Paid for an upgrade but frankly wasn't worth it. Coffee machine but hardly any pods to make a decent drink. Standard double bed and bigger TV. Food was good and served with a smile. Nice pool but was very busy with children.

Lovely atmosphere, it's beautiful both on the side and outside.
Has a Modern receiption for those staying at the hotel so guests have the option of checking in and checking out using the self service machines.
They is a Starbucks and a the Hotels restaurant as well as a bar not just for the staying guests but for the health club and spa users as well as members of the general public.
Ideal for when you want a break from the city life for a day or the weekend, for a quick bite, business lunch, coffee or dinner.
The health club is ever so lovely and worth it.

Was there to attend a Soul and Motown night.
The music was spot on. Loads to dance to.
We could really 'strut our stuff'. Excellent female singer.
Food was delicious. Plenty of roast beef.
And the profiteroles were filling.
On leaving the premises I noticed the swimming pool and sun beds.
Looked to a very Hugh standard.
It was truly a very enjoyable evening.

Good facilities at the gym, pool, steam room, sauna. Restaurant is decent but not outstanding. Some of the decor is in need of modernisation. All-in-all, a good place to stay.
