Firstly I would like to mention that Jessica and carol I think her name was (how rude of me!) were lovely and looked after me and my three children perfectly I couldn't ask for more at breakfast, really pleasant girls. We stayed two nights I wasn't too impressed with the restaurant at night or the staff in there they lacked motivation. Reception staff lovely and room was ok, nothing special but basic enough. Would definitely stay again my children loved it

For my birthday, I was given treatment vouchers for the Village Urban Resort Spa and finally got round to using them today. My experience was first class and I cannot praise the Village Spa staff enough as it was just what I needed. On arrival, I was quickly shown through to the relaxation room where they carried out a thorough pre-treatment review and health questionnaire to assess my exact requirements. The atmosphere and professionalism soon had me relaxed and looking forward to the Indian head massage and facial I had booked. In the treatment room my treatments were carried out exactly as discussed and I totally enjoyed the ambiance and therapeutic benefits in a totally relaxed and un-hurried environment.

I would not hesitate to recommend the Village Hotel Spa treatments.

I liked the hotel and the fact that it had a pool. The staff were very attentive and I believe that it was good value for money. However, I was in a room beside, what sounded like a very noisy boiler room and the window looked out over the roof of the leisure centre. That was my only small issue.

I stayed one night for a friends wedding. The room was nice and big. Had a meal in the pub bit which was good. Breakfast in the morning would have been good but as we arrived most of the hot food had ran out and I didnt want to hang around so just had toast and fruit. Swimming pool looked really good. Wedding reception was in a good size room and the hog roast buffet was good. Drinks quite cheap. Would stay again.

decor in the hotel rooms, restaurant, reception etc very dismal. Lighting was poor even in the restaurant., and the blinds being down did not help . The bar tables where you sat with your drink did n ot look like they had been cleaned in weeks. I will not be using this hotel group again.

Firstly I must say the breakfast staff are lovely! I stayed over 4days and everyone one of the girls I met are delightful and a great way to start the morning! Room was however tired and shabby, reception staff rude and ignorant and I wasn't too thrilled with the staff in the restaurant at night either, one young girl I found patronizing and too informal when greeting people.

I was quite please to be staying at a Village hotel as I remember when they burst on to the scene some 25 years ago.

It was disappointing. This hotel has a Starbucks cafe in the lobby! Clearly the profit from the hotel is not enough.

The property relies on there leisure club.

The rooms do not appear to have been decorated for quite some years. The bathrooms are basic and quite industrial (no luxury here).

The rooms are tired, worn and unloved!

Unless you use the leisure club - steer clear.

We stayed at this hotel over the early May Bank Holiday Weekend for our daughter's wedding. Minot difficulties checking in due to the abysmal central reservations system, although we could not fault the reception staff at the hotel. Once we got into our room it was very clean; decor not to our taste but we could live with it. Most comfy bed we have ever had in a hotel. Meals in the Vinny and Vito Restaurant we enjoyed very much. The wedding was held in one of the hotel's banqueting suites which proved to be a perfect venue. Only disappointment was that for some tables the roast beef for the main course of the wedding breakfast was rather tough. Other than that we could not fault this hotel as a wedding venue. Breakfast the following morning was excellent and the staff bent over backwards to provide a high level of service.

We visit here quite a lot as the food is fantastic, kids under 5 eat free and there is always sport on the tv. They also have cheap drinks when live football is showing, win win, happy days! The staff are also very friendly and make you very welcome.

Stayed for one night and was slightly disappointed.

Firstly, I'd reserved a double room only to find on arrival that it was in fact two twin beds pushed together.
The room was clean but the heat climbed rapidly. The Windows wouldn't open more than an inch and made no difference to the heat what so ever. I understand about safety regulations but the windows weren't worth opening for any air.

A very early 5:30am wake up call, from what sounded like banging metal together, was not appreciated. Unsure of whether this was the bin men but slightly early on a bank holiday.

Breakfast was great; hot and plenty of choice.

On the whole, a fairly comfortable stay in a nice hotel with great facilities. Very pleasant staff. I would stay again providing i'd get what I'd paid for.
