Clean gym but over priced. Also would like to see more fixed weight equipment rather than running machines. Pool can be busy at weekends

Reception staff were super friendly and welcoming, the bar is clean and well looked after. There are two huge TVs surround the bar area that are super cozy and feel like you're back at home. The room itself was clean, not spotless but clean enough for us to be happy. The beds were really uncomfortable, the pillows were flat and the duvet was heavy. The shower on the other hand was perfect, great pressure and nice large showerhead.

My little boys really enjoy the pool. The changing rooms are good but the last few times we have been they have been in need of a clean.
Also a guy took my towel from the poolside, the life guard immediately got me another.
The new layout for the eating area is really nice, a little too far away from the toilets when taking kids along.

Summary: Enjoyable stay with high specification room.
Our experience of the hotel was overall very good for a 'middle of the road' budget. Located on a business park, this hotel has good links to the rest of Manchester. The amenities were excellent which hosted a restaurant, café and pool/gym facilities.
The Club room we rested our heads in was very large with an even larger TV along with Sky channels. Another pro was the Dyson cooler fan which kept us chilled.
With the room situated near the back of the hotel, the view from the window was not great. One negative of the room was that it was unfortunately extremely dusty, this room may have been missed by accident but it was disappointing.
Noise volumes were not too loud and we did have a good night's sleep.
Something we will bear in mind for a future trip to Villages Hotels is that we have found the double beds are actually two single beds pushed together which is frustrating.
The breakfast in the hotel was nice and the coffee was of good standard, enough to wake us up in the morning. Overall, our stay here was enjoyable.

I attended an evening event at this amazing hotel. The entrance was grand and there were a bar and coffee shop in the main lobby as well. The venue hall used as spacious and had a reception room connected where the bar was placed. The food was amazing and so was the layout.
My only problem would be with the prices at the bar, for a half a pint of coca cola it cost £2.85. Other than this I would go again.

This is the second time we've stayed as a couple however my partner used to stay there when he was working near Manchester. Lovely hotel with great rooms, lovely food (only had breakfast this time), great leisure facilities and an on site Starbucks. Check in is automatic via a touch screen, but still someone there to make it go smoothly. We've had a club room when we've stayed (both times) but my partner used to have a standard room - all good. Nice touch having the Tassimo coffee maker, very large comfy bed and a fab selection of sky channels. The bathroom is a good size with an awesome shower and very nice shower gel etc (forgot mine!). The hairdryer is a good one too and didn't take ages to dry my hair (like you usually get). Easy to find and close to main routes. Read some reviews that said there was noise but we've never experienced any issues.
Will definitely stay there again!

Me & hubby had a very enjoyable 2 night stay. Only downside was missing out on our early cup of tea on the first morning as the drink machine in our room was broken & that was the first time trying to use it. However, the lovely housekeeper knew what was wrong with it & sorted it for us. The staff here in general were great, really friendly & nothing was too much trouble. Thank you x

Awesome place away from the city noise close to the nature. The best thing is the location. Right at the river banks. The banquet hall is good to. A lot of varieties in food and drink. The gym facilities are also good and the swimming pool is good too. Staff is friendly and co operative. Never ending parking spaces as well. Must visit once.

Let me start by saying that the staff at the village hotel were very helpful and friendly and did everything they could to give us a pleasant stay.
Unfortunately our experience at the village was not great. We had to move rooms because the first one we were given smelt of stale cigarettes and music from the bar was very loud in the room. The second room smelt better but again the music from the function room below kept us awake until around midnight. The rooms are also supposed to be air conditioned but this constituted little more than a weak Dyson cooling ring that could only cool small parts of the room for a limited amount of time. It would have been ok if we could have opened the window without increasing the volume of noise in the room.
On the whole the decor looked fairly worn with worn carpets, chipped paint and rotten window frames throughout.
The replacement of the front desk with a set of iPads gives the place an impersonal feel from arrival and the understaffed bar area was in need of a wipe down (again, I don't blame the staff who were working extremely hard)
I would have expected more for the price.
Fortunately the staff are a real testament to the hotel so hopefully they can turn it around so that the general standards of the hotel match the professionalism of the staff.

My hubby and i have stayed in many village hotels and Bury is the best.
We are currently staying here celebrating our wedding anniversary and when we arrived there was a complimentary bottle of prosecco in our room.
I would like to thank Sarah the manager, Ashley , Emma and the restaurant staff.
Breakfast and the meals we had were excellant.
We have stayed here many times and all the reception , bar and restaurant staff are fantastic. Never had as good service in any other hotel.

Top notch room, nice bar, staff smiling and friendly. However the staff could be more on there toes in the Grill restaurant, was slow to get food out to say it was quiet. Customer care lacked making sure everything was ok or if we needed anything. Overlooking that tho good experience.

Had an enjoyable stay. Just a couple of small niggles:-
*People using the reception area for business meetings should be considerate of other users. There were several meetings going on and most of them felt the need to talk in raised voices.
*People who are not disabled are parking in disabled spaces.
*Finally, housekeeping need to knock before accessing rooms.

Amazing Sunday roasts. 3 courses - you help yourself to a variety of starters, then the main is as a normal carvery (go up and the chef sorts your meat and you choose your own veg/gravy/yorkshire). Then you help yourself to a selection of desserts too - plus they have an ice cream machine. Staff are helpful and attentive. Hotel is great too but haven't stayed for a while.

Good clean facilities, large swimming pool, reastraunt food is to a high standard, drinks in the bars at reasonable prices.
Only problem is that there is not a cloakroom available for any persons not residents who visiting to attend a meeting or conference.
If you travel here by public transport during the colder months of the year, you have to carry your outdoor clothing with you for the duration of your visit.

Me and my family popped in for some food. The food was wonderful and the staff , I couldn't fault, absolutely fantastic.. one of the gentleman behind the bar was interacting with my four year old Toni, he made her feel like a princess . Giving her high fives everytime he past. We will be going again, when we come back to Manchester. Thank you all for your hard work.

The staff were friendly and the room was clean BUT the shower leaked all over the floor which isn't safe, the room was very warm and the window opens a tiny bit (room fan seemed to make it warmer) The pool was okay although it seemed to have a fair bit of sand in it? The people staying in the room next door were vile and kept me awake so I had to move to another room at 1am to try and get some sleep! Kids were running up and down the corridor which was SO annoying. 😴😴 I doubt I'll come back..

Some small issues , window would not close and cover missing from bathroom shower. Hotel was otherwise clean and in decent location. Reasonable price of £5 for late check out at 1pm.

A pleasant hotel with wonderfully friendly, helpful and pleasant staff. Food is adequate, drinks a little pricey but dont let this put you off. Rooms are more than well equipped, quite and comfortable.

Staff are amazing, couldn't do enough for the bride and groom on their special day.
Great place if your not getting married too, gym, bar, restaurant and a Starbucks.
