I had an addiction to alcohol. I managed to keep my job going during the day, but the minute I got home all I wanted to do was have a drink. It was initially to cope with work stress but it became a habit that was crippling - in that i started to require more of my vice in order to get the same response. And then I couldn't really function after I had had enough. I went to see Matthew and he took me to a place in my mind that he called the place of no concern. It was wonderful, and I started to forget about alcohol. By the time we had got to the second session I had cut down to four drinks a week, and by the time we had got to the third I was just a friday night drinker - drinking to celebrate, rather than because I needed it to get through.
