Friendly, welcoming, clean and nicely decorated. Excellent value for the £45 b & b we paid for the night. We were lucky enough to get a room with a view of the pier and the sea. Room well laid out and (for once) all power points accessible.Although basic, it was a treat to have our cooked breakfast, pot of tea and toast served at the table rather than having to help ourselves at a buffet which is sadly too common these days.
Hotel very well located for shops and seafront.
Sadly no parking but you can park on road between 6pm - 8am for free.
My only small criticism would be that we might had had dinner in the hotel restaurant if we had managed to find the menu in our room or downstairs.
Would definately stay again and be prepared to pay more.

I absolutely love The Afton Hotel the staff are great, we visit and stay twice a year and take molly our king charles we call it her holiday lol. the hotel is spotless and in a fantastic view opposite Eastbourne pier. The breakfast is catered for in an orderly way and its a great deal for the price they charge. They also do an evening meal where you go to you table and they leave your name , the tables are set up beautifully. I can not recommend them highly enough. regards linda

The Afton Hotel is a great budget no frills hotel; perfect for a short stay. My single room was clean and the bed was comfortable but the furniture and carpets are very tired and really need replacing (102). Creaky floorboards, slamming doors and noisy corridors are an issue here but again I just needed a bed for the night so this wasn't a huge problem however I wouldn't be impressed if I was staying here for a relaxing break! All the staff were very helpful and friendly.

Had a good few days here, and the proximity to the pier was really great. Food ok, but evening entertainment was 1st class on a few nights.
Staff were helpful but again only the one lift.
This was another coach tour, so the hotel was a good starting place for other tours around the area.

There is NO PARKING at this hotel, on the street only and I found it very difficult to find a space. For that reason alone, I would not return. It was OK for 1 night, clean, and for the price I don't expect luxury. A bit run down, stair carpet thread bear in places, typical musty smell etc. Noisy. A disco, but it stopped dead on midnight. Other room doors very loud, even when shut carefully (not being slammed). I heard someone go to the toilet in the night (in another room!). Cooked breakfast was nothing special. Only just warm. Wifi only in lounge, not in rooms. Staff very nice. Good location on sea front, but as I say, the downside is parking is difficult, I can imagine, impossible in the summer.

the staff especially the chap who booked us in in the evening were very friendly and helpful it's a basic no frills hotel you get what it says on the can but for the price you cant fault it room was nothing fancy but had all you needed, clean bathroom and tea and coffee making facilities in the room (if i go again will take a bigger cup though as theirs are small tea cups 2 sips and its gone) decent breakfast again served by helpful friendly staff, they put us on ground floor as both of us have to use walking sticks room faced onto road but wasnt that noisy given where it is, lovely location will defiantly use it again if down that way again

We have just spent a very enjoyable week at The Afton.
We had a beautiful room on the first floor with a sea view,
Very warm & comfortable & spotlessly clean.
Staff were very friendly & service in the restaurant was very quick & efficient.
A good location opposite the pier, very handy for catching buses.
Very good value for money.
Particularly enjoyed hot chocolates in the room.
Look forward to returning in May with our coach group.
Thank you Jason.

A very pleasant stay again, polite and helpful staff, clean rooms, good food. No complaints. The beer was a local brew and reasonably priced. The bacon at breakfast was of good quality, plenty of fresh fruit and cereal. Good evening meal as well. Well recommended

Got an excellent last minute deal at the Afton Hotel, adjacent to the pier and 2 minutes from the main shopping area. Single room 202 clean, comfortable and all staff very friendly. The only suggestion is to take ear plugs as walls are thin and floors creaky. No hesitation in returning

Stayed here for 2 nights on business in a single room for £20 per night.

Really friendly welcome, clean ensuite room & comfy bed. Room small, but what do you expect for that price. Didn't eat there so can't comment on the meals.

Excellent value & wouldn't hesitate to stay again

Stayed here last Monday & Tuesday, while visiting family in area. Great Location, such friendly helpful staff, & very clean room. Great beds & lovely white bedlinen. Couldn't ask for more, & such a great price. Stayed with my 92 year old father, so having a lift in hotel was a bonus. Would certainly stay here again. Keep up the good work Afton Hotel :)

We stayed at the Afton hotel as a group for a long weekend. The staff were very friendly & we couldn't fault our room or the food. The entertainment was good on the Friday night, but sadly not quite so good on Saturday. However, that wouldn't stop me staying there again.

Myself and my fiancee are down for my birthday weekend. Really good deal for 2 nights last minute. Very clean, rooms are small but fine for what we needed. Only annoyance we couldnt connect to the free wifi we were 'out of range' other then that a perfectly adequate hotel for a weekend stay

Stayed in Jan. 60/70s weekend with Edwards coaches, did not expect much but well surprised, although hotel is dated everything is clean and cared for, staff really friendly and helpful, food is excellent, location superb near pier and beach. I would well recommend a stay here and hope shortly to return.

Stayed here for a weekend break, There are great offers on at this time of year. The price for half board accommodation was very good.
Facilities in the hotel are fine. Clean bedrooms with extremely comfortable beds and good shower facilities, Both the bar and restaurant areas are spacious with plenty of seating.
All the staff we met were friendly and courteous.
We went with a coach party so the menu was limited in choice but for what we paid it was acceptable.
The hotel is in a good location with easy access to the pier and the beach. You can walk to Beachy Head from the hotel easily if you are walking fit and can manage the up hill climb. Enjoyable walk and a great pub at the top.
