did quite a wide search looking for hotel with lift, seafront and ease for disabled. The Afton has 5 steps at entrance I was unaware but they will charge up mobility scooters for you. Rooms are good size plenty of wardrobe hanging space and drawers. Tea and coffee facility. The bathroom is a reasonable size but they call a walk in shower one that you climb into. I didn`t have difficulty but some might.Bed was soft but fairly comfortable. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good ...full english for those that eat that. Loads of toast tea good coffee dreadful. The main problem is parking you need to purchase a £2 a day ticket with your blue badge being displayed.

Visited afton hotel over bank holidays weekend. Marcus at reception was really nice and friendly. We got the sea view room directly facing the pier. Rooms are little on a smaller size and outdated but bathroom was good. Water pressure was pretty law so showering was not a good experience. Amenities provided were TV Tea coffee milk sugar kettle hairdryer, shower gel soap towel was everything we needed. Lobby area was good to sit and relax with a bar. Restaurant was not available. Overall a good location, polite staff and pocket friendly hotel. Location is very central, hop on hop off bus is right in front of the hotel. Kids enjoyed the stay. Will visit again.

Great location, right opposite the pier.
The hotel itself is not so great. It's possible my views are skewed as I foolishly booked for Saturday night of August bank holiday weekend when everyone descends. It was the best of a bad lot but overpriced at £99.
Staff friendly.
No issues as such.
Bathroom clean.
Bed was comfy and sheets clean.
Rest of the room was dusty and toothpaste/ dubious white marks on the doors.
Wardrobe doors had dark dirt on them I wiped off.
Fag buts littered all over the tiny unusable verandah.
Only one window opened.
Hot.
Noisy. Could hear floorboards upstairs creaking as well as everyone else talking and slamming doors in the hotel.
If you are not fussy and this is cheap then it's worth a stay.
Otherwise it's an overpriced DSS type BnB which is dated and tired.

The staff were really friendly and helpful especially Rockin. The room was 113 looking out towards the front and tended to get quite warm even though our stay was not during the heatwave.
Room was fairly small, clean and comfortable but had not been refurbished for many years and that did show and the rest of the hotel had the same neglected ambiance.
The hotel did not have a restaurant and there was no breakfast.
The rooms were expensive ca. £200 per night but this was the weekend of the Eastbourne Airshow and so that is understandable. On a normal night I would wish to pay less than £100 for that quality.

Okay so....
The room was okay... The beds were immaculate... Bedding was super clean and good quality cotton... And honestly I slept like a log... (I haven't done for a long time) the bathroom was clean and had everything you needed....
Now the not so good bit....
The carpet was absolutely disgusting I have never seen so much filth in beaded into one place before.. It was crusty and had what looked like years of build up all round the edges... Luckily we had slippers we could put on after our showers...
Also lastly we think the people who were staying in the room above us were practicing for the Roller Derby down the road.. But that's not the hotel's fault 🤪

I had a very good stay at Afron and highly recommend. The staff were really helpful, particularly Marcos who was on duty during the times I had questions. He was very accommodating at ensuring I could stay in the same room when I extended my stay at very short notice. The single room I stayed in was at the back of the hotel so quiet even at the weekend.
My husband and I had previously stayed here and the double room at that time was very spacious so great size rooms for couples.
The hotel is ideally located close to the pier and the nice side (route to South Downs) of Eastbourne. I would definitely stay here next time I'm in Eastbourne.

Stayed 1 night for £195 which I thought was totally over priced and was very disappointed with what we were given. Room decor dated from the 80's with no ventilation in bedroom unable to open a window they were painted shut. Really noisy room, so had a terrible nights sleep. Tv was hanging off the wall. Really bad stay, complained to management and they weren't interested. Expected better!

The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and there is no WiFi in the rooms, only available in the lobby, which can be misleading when it's listed as an amenity, so if that's something you need, this probably isn't the place for you.
It's dated inside but that didn't really impact me as I wasn't planning on spending a lot of time in the hotel. There are a lot of good bars and restaurants nearby and on the beachfront so location wise it's good.

You get what you pay for for a beachfront hotel. Beds not comfortable but the hotel was kept clean. Disappointed by the lack of WiFi in rooms, only available in the lobby, the website is misleading on this. No parking at the hotel but a multi storey is a short walk away.

The Afton Hotel is rated 2 stars which, whilst it might describe the hotel's need for some upgrading of it's fading decor, completely omits to award stars for the positive attitude's of the hotel staff. All of the staff were absolutely lovely, welcoming and helpful.
The bedrooms are spotless. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is relaxing.
My wife and I loved it and will be returning.

Good for the price. As others have said it’s a bit dated, but I found it charming. Shout out the young dude on the front desk for being chill

Had a great 5 days here.
The hotel is being refurbished and although our twin bedroom was small it was spotlessly clean with new carpet and curtains. We had fresh soap and towels every day.
We were with a party from Oxford and very good comments were made about the food which was just like home cooking.
The staff should get a mention as they were cheerful, efficient and helpful.
We look forward to returning.

Just returned today from a long weekend at this Hotel. I’ve done 15 or more group bookings and this hotel gave us the warmest welcome of any we’ve ever been to before. From the moment we arrived we knew we were on to a winner…. Greeted by reception team and before we were all in the hotel our cases were being brought in. Every traveller (there were 32) got exactly the rooms requested on our rooms list. Rooms were clean, beds comfortable and rooms serviced daily. This is not a ‘posh’ hotel but for the price we paid, we well and truly got more than expected. Valentina and Steve? (Sorry- I’m dreadful at names) filled us in on meal times and when we arrived at dinner we were not disappointed with our food. The fish was so tasty (different fish on each day), some of us had fish on all 3 dinners. Any special dietary needs were met and no request was a problem. Evening entertainment was fab. Each night different but no less enjoyable. We were the only coach party there but a few interesting private booking also booked here. This hotel is prime position - right by the pier and really deserves to be busier. Give these guys a try - you won’t regret it. One point to note….spirit and wine prices at the bar were a bit steep, but bbeer & ciders seemed about right.
