A real asset for Eastbourne. Some great shows and all through the year too.
Really looking forward to seeing the scaffolding down and the renovations completed.

Good standard theatre offering excellent entertainment. Interval drinks are bookable. Close to the seafront and all amenities. A good choice of nearby restaurants. Staff efficient and helpful. Parking relatively easy within easy walking distance. Undergoing refurbishment but that does not distract from attending a show.

The Congress Theatre is just about to enjoy a full makeover after 50 years - it really needs it, as it looks pretty tired in many areas now.

My wife and I visit this theatre three or four times a year and have always found that the entertainment including, many west end shows, to be of a very high standard. You can book a drink for the interval and there are plenty of restaurants in the near vicinity. We never have a problem parking within easy walking distance and seat prices are not at all over the top.

This show is on until Sat 4th October, catch it if you can. 8 young musicians with tribute show to some of the all time greats. A great Buddy Holly, Del Shannon & Roy Orbison stand out. Eddie Cochrane is the youngest member of the ensemble, but he gives the performance his all. I have to say I think Elvis was a bit OTT, whether that was a deliberate send up or not is hard to say.
As a bonus there is Long Man's Pier ale in the bar at the interval. Photos not allowed in the auditorium, but see the Eastbourne Theatres website for more info. Great night out. If you have a theatre near you, look for Rock & Roll Heaven, they may be visiting on tour.

Perfect for those of a certain age! A very good standard of tribute rock and roll artists including Buddy Holly and Elvis.

What a beautiful old theatre this is. Like going way back in time. Even the staff=so friendly and polite. So much restoration has gone into this place and whoever runs this wonderful theatre deserves a medal for what they have done.

This is a great theatre but compared with others such as the Devonshire which is more or less next door, is very big and modern and came be too big for some,
Saying that they have done great shows on here so well worth a visit

Booked to see Lorna Luff in the production on the 2nd September. Ground staff very helpful, theatre itself somewhat dated & lacking ambiance.

It was the 2nd night & still the sound quality had not been sorted from previous evening.

Lift was a bonus as my daughter finds it extremely hard walking up alot of stairs.

Costumes & dancing good, singing fine when sound was working correctly! I have seen better a small theatres

Excellent show was worth the money u can't beat a live musical show. Nice and friendly staff the only thing because I have bad knee sitting with not much leg room was hurting my knee but it did not stop me enjoying the show.

The Congress is a lovelly theatre. There are always good shows on there from ballet and opera to thrillers and comedy. There is no need to trek up to London as most show preview here or in Brighton before going to London or on tour. Seats are very comfortable and prices are not too expensive, except when several good performances come so close together as often happens. I can highly recommend this theatre.

The Congress is a modern not very interesting building, just functional. We saw Dreamboats & Miniskirts and wished we hadn't bothered. Not nearly as good as Dreamboats & Petticoats.

My only problem with this Theatre is that always, and I mean always the sound is dreadful. It is inevitably too loud and in musicals particularly the sound drowns out the singers and actors. Many have commented on this but it seems it is ignored. They then wonder why not many tickets are sold!!!!!!!

You can see a great show without having to go to London and much cheaper seats, and alot of the shows from the westend come to Eastbourne.

We were lucky enough to purchase last minute tickets to a show put on by the Rattonians. It was the last night and we were very impressed at the professionalism of the group. The box office was efficient, as was the interval drink service. Good, comfy seats in the stalls and well priced. All in all a good night out and if you get the chance to see this amateur dramatics group who are local to the area you are in for a treat.

Been here before and this visit did not disappoint. Three guys portraying three very well-known and well-loved performers and they had it 'spot on'. A thoroughly enjoyable evening - pity there weren't more in the audience!

3rd time here. very old 60's theatre.
sadly it was not half full for what we saw.
Maybe due to lack of PR or financial needs of the public.

Show involved great dancing but no story so a bit disappointing. Theatre facilities and view from the stalls were very good.

The theatre itself is undergoing a renovation programme but this doesn't interfere with the performances as have been there three times in the last year. Its 50's décor that is being preserved and the seating good if slightly cramped in places. Wheelchairs well catered for. Box office staff very helpful am there again August bank holiday.

Went to see Chas & Dave, one of many visits I make to the Congress. On this night the sound was far too loud making it very difficult to hear the words being sung, which is essential with the act given the humour in their words. A number of people sat around us agreed as did two members of staff when we complained as we left the theatre. Greta shame as normally a very entertaining evening out.

This is a lovely Theatre. One which takes in most of the West End
productions. It also is visited by the London Phill. usually on Sunday afternoons which makes life so pleasant

Place is dated and needs urgent repair work.
Covered in scaffolding with some ads on it to hide its on condition
Shame as no doubt it's a focal point on the west side.
