We visited Thursday evening which happened to be Quiz Night. This was alot of fun. But sorry to say, me and my girlfriend bought the bangers and mash (veggie and normal versions). The bangers were seriously dry and really salty. We informed the Manager and Staff and they said sorry but that was it. My girlfriend went up and bought another meal but I couldn't be asked and decided to cheer myself up by getting dessert instead.
I think something shouldve been offered as we had been inconvenience. Dessert was good by the way.

Stopped in for breakfast while staying at a nearby hotel. Lovely service and probably the best breakfast I’ve had (outside of my own home!) the breakfast scores 9.75/10 as for my taste and the only slight criticism would be that I would like my bread toasted slightly more, but all in all really lovely and would definitely recommend

Called in on the off chance for a meal not knowing what to expect and were totally suprised.
The Pub is a down to earth drinkers pub which serves food, and not a food led pub that serves drinks. The staff were very freindly and helpfull giving good service.
The food was of a very good standard and good sized portions. We were even asked if we would like mashed potatoes or roast potatoes or a bit of both.Overall we had a satisfying meal and drink.

Nicest Roast dinners in Eastbourne. Always hot, delicious and well above standard expectations.

Thank you for serving great food.

This is a sports bar pub and doesn't look very exciting from the the outside. Inside it is deceptively spacious with a very long bar and plenty of tables. However, the drink selection is impressive and the ales that I sampled were well kept.
I ate in there twice whilst staying locally and both meals were very good ( I would recommend the lamb shank). There were different staff on duty on both occasions but they were friendly and the service was excellent.

I was looking for a sports bar in Eastbourne that was showing the football and I couldn’t have picked a more perfect place. The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The sports bar was well laid out with good views of the screens and the commentary not too loud. The food was out of this world. My homemade steak and Ale pie was fabulous and the wife’s meal from the very extensive and funky vegan menu was great too. Good selection of real ales too. My title of this review says it all.

We had been out all day and were looking for a pub meal and found this Greene King pub just 20 minutes from our hotel
The drinks were good and the food was delicious as we had a cooked Camembert to share and followed with jacket potatoes with cheese and coleslaw toppingsWe spent more on drinks than food but that worked for us!!
The staff were very friendly and attentive

This is a Green King pub. The staff in here are so friendly. We came in tonight for a glass of wine, looked at the menu & decided to eat. The girls were so good with our order they couldn't do enough for us. Hats off to this pub.

Five of us went to this pub for Sunday lunch, totally due to the very good reviews on this website. It was very busy and there was a concern that quality could suffer due to the number of meals being produced. We need not have worried, we all finished up having the beef and the quality of the meat and the meal was excellent. So much so that one of our group requested a teaspoon so that he could finish off the delicious gravy. We then all had various deserts which were also of high quality, in particular the chocolate & coconut torte resulted in a comment that they just didn't want it to come to an end. The staff were extremely friendly and it was overall a very pleasant experience.

The staff were extremely friendly, polite and efficient. The service was superb, as was the food. Regarding the food BE WARNED, the portions are huge. I had the mushroom starter, which was not as imagined at all. There was a vast amount of mushrooms with a quarter of a French stick. Followed by home made pie, mash and fresh vegetables. I love my food and have a reputation for the amount I can eat, but I was totally unable to finish this delicious meal. My advice, order main course and then see if you have any room left for dessert. The Crown & Anchor comes Highly recommended.

We had booked in here for dinner as we’re staying at a nearby hotel which was less that 5 mins walk away.
Really friendly welcoming staff and nice atmosphere, we were pleasantly surprised when told there would be live music on next to where we were sat as we don’t get much of that in Essex so was a great surprise. I had the halloumi sticks to start (best I have ever had!) followed by the vegan chilli with rice and side of nachos, this was sooo good and full of flavour!
My partner had the chicken wings and the quiche and he said all his food was great too! We both had a really lovely evening listening to the music and enjoying delicious food!

This pub was close to our guest house so we popped in on our first night staying. We were wecomed and had a nice drink, so made it our first stop each night as we went out to eat.
We ate here one evening and the food was good too. We had a huge bowl of sharing Nachos followed by a burger and ribs. They were all great but we left having eaten too much :-)

Top pub. Just across the road from hotel where 8 of us were staying for weekend following the mighty Hungerford Town FC...not so mighty this weekend unfortunately. Made great base camp, seafront location close to pier, but also not far from selection of other bars and restaurants away from the sea.. Pleasant vibe, very decent food, friendly staff, TVs for watching sport. Recommended

Super little pub, met friends for dinner when visiting Eastbourne and they booked here.
Dog friendly and really friendly staff, greeted you on arrival and even offered table service for drinks.Food was amazing and they have Mount Gay rum! My favourite!
Loved it so much we went back the next day to try more of the menu and had the same experience again and it didn’t disappoint.
If we lived locally this would without doubt be my local.

The pub itself is a good place. Went on a cover band night but only vaguely recognized two of the songs most likely because the average age in there that night was about 50 including the band. Still, they played well, the staff are reasonably friendly in the pub, it's got a nice outside area close to the seafront which is a plus. Little pricey but to be expected nowadays. The upstairs private function area also has a stage and a bar and a larger dance area and has played host to quite a few live events which has been good.
