Very good location, right on the front - the only pub as far as we could tell that was. Saturday lunchtime on a fairly grey day a very buzzy atmosphere filled with locals and tourists. The football was on the television but it wasn't intrusive.
We had sandwiches and chips both good.Unlike most of the rest of Eastbourne which is tired and needs a makeover this pub was somewhere that shows foreign tourists the best side of Britain.

Watched the football and had some great ribs. Nice pub atmosphere and very friendly staff. No loud music in the background. Recommended.

What a lovely little pub. Food was fantastic and the bar staff were lovely, so helpful and all seemed so cheerful. Food was really nice and very reasonable. A real gem. Seems to be very busy in the evenings due to live entertainment so top tip get their before 7pm to ensure you get a table.

We visited this pub twice during our stay at a nearby hotel, one time for a family meal. The pub itself has a lovely atmosphere and the staff are very friendly and welcoming. We had our dog with us on both occasions and the staff made a fuss of him and brought him some water.
There is a good selection of drinks including some real ales. We also found the food to be fantastic. All of our group of 6 had different meals and we were all very pleased with them, with my son saying that the ribs he had were the best ever.

We popped in on our second night in Eastbourne as the pub was closest to our hotel. A clean and tidy chain pub. However at £4.35 for a pint of Carling we didn't go back.

After a walk at Beachy Head with my aunt and uncle, we needed a good meal. A quick search of "near me now" restaurants revealed the Crown and Anchor. It was perfect. Friendly service, good basic menu. Great daily specials menu. We ordered the pate as a starter, which was perfect. Three separate mains, which we shared. Each dish had multiple components. All were delish. The ONLY improvement would be to exclude or improve the "stuffing" served with the pork belly. It was too crispy. Otherwise every single item in each dish was truly wonderful and I'm a tough person to please.

I stayed a few hundred yards away on a stormy weekend so this was my "local". The atmosphere, service, food, facilities and weekend entertainment could not be faulted.

We stayed in Eastbourne for Easter and we were really pleased we came across this gem of a pub.
We ate there on Easter Sunday evening and the food was excellent. I had the half chicken roast and my wife had the lamb shank roast and we both agreed it was the best roast dinner we have ever eaten out. We also had garlic mushrooms with Brie for a starter which again was excellent and the portion was very big.If you want exceptional food with large portions this is the pub to go to.
Brilliant bar staff, great beer and a lovely atmosphere😄👍

My sister and I walked to the Beach Deck only to find we should have booked for lunch. So we headed back into the icy wind to find somewhere to eat. And we came upon the Crown and Anchor Pub. We entered a dinky little interior, clean and with wooden floors and tables not all squished together. We ordered from a decent menu - my sister had a fish pie and veg and I had the minted lamb burger with chips. Both were excellent. Service was great and we enjoyed just some quiet time chatting and eating wonderful filling food.

We were staying in Eastbourne for a night and wanted to go somewhere for a beer or two prior to eating. We choose the Crown as it received good reviews and was close by.
It was a nice pub with a good atmosphere. Staff were friendly. The food looked good and there seemed to be a number of music events on at other times

Only in Eastbourne for 2 nights, popped into the Crown and Anchor for a burger and pint, food was excellent!
We made the Crown our base for 2 nights, the staff were friendly, helpful and chatty and when it came to closing hey never just kicked you out like a lot of pubs do, you could finish your last order at a leisurely pace, thanks for putting up with us ;)

We went in for a quick drink and was delighted with the hospitality and friendliness of people as we were not regulars here. The food looked delicious and was reasonably priced too! There were a few choices of Ales that pleased my husband too

A small but varied menu, the food was fabulous, be warned though, the portions are more than enough to fill even the biggest appetites.

A lovely, well positioned pub for the seafront with good food, entertainment and service. What was very impressive was the service, a large team of easily identifiable staff (dressed the same) who made sure you were served promptly at the bar or at the table and were comfortable.
Thoroughly enjoyed the fish and chips and the 'Howlin Blues' band, who entertained us and others who had gathered on this Friday evening.Only one downside (in our opinion), allowing smokers of 'vapes' to puff away inside the premises. Dreadful, smelly, horrible things................and the vapes were not that much better either! A cloud of 'whatever it is?' being blown all around you is not exactly what you need when tucking in to your dinner or slurping a pint!
Seriously, this is really a form of smoking and should be carried out in designated 'smoking' areas, not where others, who do not partake, are eating and drinking, however we would visit again. Thank you for a nice evening.

Went on a busy night, got a table early. 80s band due to come on so ate early. Food was nice, service was good, portions ok. Once the group came on got very busy , standing room only, bit to much noise to chat but a really good atmosphere with some people having a dance,,all in all a nice lively pub with decent food.
