Thoroughly enjoyed this powerful version of Charles Dicken's classic Great Expectation's. The theatre has lots of atmosphere, comfortable seats and is easily reached from the centre of town. Very worth checking what is on when staying in Eastbourne.

Visited to see the Rat pack show.

Wonderful show with amazing music and great voices. Loved it.

Also love the auditorium in the Devonshire. Relatively intimate and prices normally reasonable for most shows.

However the rest of the Devonshire infrastructure is poor. Totally inadequate number of toilets, lack of seating in bars, and god knows how the staff work behind the upper bar!

But I’ll visit again when the next good show comes on.

Went to see the show at this lovely theatre and came away very impressed with both the show and the theatre. Lovely comfortable seats in the stalls (centre row F) with loads of legroom. Very reasonably priced at £31 per ticket for OAP’s .

This old fashioned theatre has a warm atmosphere and dark coloured decor. It is small and ideal for relaxed drawing room drama and farce. As a result there are many good pre and post West End offerings.

An older lady doing her duty to the town perfectly

It is not a concert hall nor large enough for concerts

My wife and I are fond of this little theatre. All the staff members are friendly and helpful.
On this visit, we saw Spamalot. The small cast was word perfect, and had excellent comic timing. So funny.
Obviously it couldn’t compare to the West End version we saw in 2006, which had Tim Currey in the lead role, but it wasn’t far off, considering the confines of the small stage.
This theatre has a wonderful range and variety of shows and concerts throughout the year. Something for everyone.

We have just had a very enjoyable tour behind the scenes of the lovely old Devonshire Park theatre. This tour is arranged by the "friends of the theatre" and for £7-50 is well worth it. Especially at the end there will be coffee/tea and some delicious homemade cake. This will be in the bar area.
The whole tour takes about an hour and you will be taken all over the parts of the theatre you wouldn't normally see. The "friends" are very friendly and helpful and after a short history you will be shown around. There are parts of the theatre that you need to negotiate carefully but on the whole it isn't too difficult and there are plenty of "friends" to guide you on your way.
If you decide to take an hour out to visit this lovely old theatre I am sure you will not be disappointed.

We have been going to the Devonshire Park for many years. My mother in law used to love going to the summer "Murder Season", I talked my wife into seeing Humph and the gang do, Sorry I Haven't a Clue and every year we like going to the Panto which is great fun and I think responsible for our children's comfort and love of the theatre. Although the Devonshire no longer serve afternoon tea and scones like they used to do for my Mother in Law, there is something very charming and timeless about this venue with its alabaster grand decorations.

I went with my husband to see Dick Whittington as we’d had a rough couple of days and needed a laugh, I haven’t laughed that much as I did on the Saturday 13th Night Show it was so funny, costumes where amazing and I got lost in the show, I wish I could relive the whole thing!

I love this theatre as it is very old & has lovely features inside. I went to the pantomime here & it was very good. It seems to be very much for the local people of Eastbourne. This is the second year I have been & enjoyed it.

The Devonshire is a lovely little theatre. We been going to the annual pantomime for about the last 7 years with the whole family. It's always good fun and usually has Tucker and Martin Knight. Other performances have been good too over the years, Emma was a good production and of mice and men starring Matthew Kelly got a genuine standing ovation for a brilliant performance. Always worth keeping and eye out for productions that don't cost the earth for good entertainment.
