I took my two children there aged 3 and 4. They had a fantastic time. There is loads to do. The zoo is great as is the theme park area. There was quite a bit of queuing involved but it was school holidays. Plants of picnic areas, refreshments places and loads of toilets. The only criticism really was that entry was quite expensive and then several of the activities in the park involved extra charges which I do object to when paying a high cost for entry.

Went to Drusillas on a rainy day after the bank holiday! We had planned to go so continued with our plans - def a bonus as no queues, no crowds of people waiting to see the animals etc. lots of endangered species to learn about as you walk round and lots of informative signs telling you all about the animals. Lots to do for children of all ages as you can collect stamps when you see the animals and things you can take part in around the par. A very good discovery centre, fabulous members if staff who are very friendly and chat to you around the park. Food good value and lots of different venues to eat. Our boys loved Thomas the tank engine and the Fat Controller! Would def visit again next year - fabulous place !

My son visited Drucillas last week. I had emailed the customer services team explaining that my son had severe learning difficulties and autism and how he wanted to meet hello kitty.
They were absolutely brilliant. They catered to his needs so proffesionally. I cannot speak highly enough of their staff and willingness in making the day so special for him. My son had such a wonderful day there.
Lovely place, lovely staff, lovely memories.

August Bank Holiday Monday, the wettest and windiest day of the year we made the decision to continue with our plans and ventured out (3 generations) to Drusillas, having promised our 2 year old grand-daughter she would see Peppa Pig and George!

We went prepared, armed with brollies, macs and wellies . The advantage to a wet day at Drusillas is there are no queues for anything!! :-) We were able to wander at our own pace around the zoo, laugh at the monkeys, feed the birds, watch the beavers, and smell the bats(!) without any crowds. We stayed on the pink tea cups as long as we liked, drove round and round in the Hello Kitty cars, made several trips on Thomas the Tank and had Peppa Pig and George all to ourselves!

We did not allow the weather to dampen our spirits, even though the rain was constant (torrential at times!) and thorough enjoyed our experience.

Everywhere we went the staff were helpful and friendly, even providing a bin liner for the little one to put right over her to try to keep dry (no chance yesterday! )

Some people have said the entry cost is a rip off. I used £30 of Tesco vouchers for the 5 of us, as opposed to £72.50 online for a family ticket for 5, so it is well worth looking around for deals. Having said that £72.50 (peak) is still under £15 per person for a whole day out. I don’t think this is outrageous for what is on offer.

It was our first visit to the park and I can’t wait to go back next year – preferably on a dry sunny day!

Finally we get a break in the weather and race down to spend the entire! day at Drusillas and as ever no disappointments to be had.
The kids love the learning, and fun activity books, and were thrilled to see all the new additions!!
we saw all the new baby monkeys.
Then as the boys tore up the adventure play area in the afternoon the girls hit the Hello kitty world , a week later her tattoo is still on.... amazing, she loved the hello kitty parlour, and all the rides. Topped off by a dip in the lagoon, a brilliant day out and i'm pleased to say punctuated with starbucks coffees for me.

This park is an excellent mixture of zoo, playground and rides. My 4 year-old loved it. The way through the zoo shows a very nice selection of animals in wonderful compounds. The playgrounds are huge, so enough space to play. And the Hello Kitty drives are nice for the lower aged kids, maybe not so for the older ones. We had a good day at Drusilla's.

We visited Drusillas as a large group with 4 small children and were by no means disappointed.

There was a great mix of animals to view and learn about (the Zoo Olympics really help my eldest understand the special characteristics of certain animals) and great play areas for a very active 3 year old boy to get stuck into and let off steam!

We enjoyed our lunch which, despite our visit being on a sunny Sat in August was quick to arrive and good quality, setting us up for a lot more activity in the afternoon.

The Park had a great balance between being big enough to get good value for money but not being too big to get overwhelmed by. Thomas also provided a good respite for us all to take stock (enjoy a coffee) and then think about the next part of our day (in conjuction with animal feeding times).

Definitely a perfect first zoo visit for my two.

We took our whole family – 9 people across three generations for a day out at Drusillas. We arrived soon after 10 o’clock and stayed until 6 o’clock and our four grandchildren – 18 months to 6 years old were occupied all the time, moving excitedly from area to area.
We spent the morning looking at the animals, seeing them close up and learning from the informative labels. They stamped their passports and measured themselves against the animals and each other at the Zoolimpics. They loved going into Lemurland, being in the animals’ environment and learning all about them from the enthusiastic keeper Charlie, who pitched his explanations at just the right level for them..
The food at the Oasis Cafe was just what they wanted and the good sized portions were excellent value. The adults were revived with the Costa Coffee.
Hello Kitty and Thomas the Tank engine were a great draw and they were able to have as many rides as they wanted as they were included in the entrance price. While we had another coffee they used up more energy in the Go Bananas area – specially designed for children of their age and completely safe.
At the end of the hot afternoon they cooled down in the Explorer’s Lagoon before all falling asleep on the journey home. They haven’t stop talking about the day since and want to go back soon.

We were down visiting our parents and they took us Drusillas for a family day out with our two girls (3 and 6) and my sister in laws boy and girl (3 and 16 months). The place couldn't have been more ideal as it had something for everyone.

I read that it is a 'child's first zoo' and I think that is absolutely spot on. All the children were really interested in the animals without feeling intimidated by their size, which has happened to us in zoos with larger animals like tigers etc, so this was great. There is enough interesting info for the adults to read and learn a thing or two! I also love the stamps the children had to collect, simple fun and also the zoo Olympics idea was brilliant.

It was really good to see a little girl having her 'zoo keeper for day' experience. She was in all the enclosures and helping the keeper with all the tasks and really getting up close to the animals. Definitely something we would be keen for our girls to do as I was impressed by what she was doing and could clearly see the enjoyment.

Then after some learning we went into the play area and park. Again something for everyone......a well deserved coffee for adults whilst the kids went on the rides in Hello kitty's secret garden. They all loved every ride and the staff were brilliant with them. We went in August on a Saturday but queues were absolutely fine and the children were able to go on the rides a few times each. A ride on Thomas round the zoo meant we saw even more animals and another section of play area that I hadn't even realised was there. The play area itself would have kept them entertained all day so there is plenty of reason to go back more than once, we definitely will.

We ate at the oasis cafe and had a great lunch, very good portions. This cafe was more fast food style (but good quality) but there was another restaurant that had more lunch options, salads, jacket potatoes etc. I have to mention the toilets too, having small children you are never given much notice about when they want to go to the loo so it was great to visit a place that had lots of very clean toilets dotted conveniently all over the park and zoo.

After lunch there was yet more excitement in the form of a paddling pool which my children love.....so remember to take swim suits and a towel. We then went back into the zoo area to see some feeding times.

All in all a really packed, fun day that suited everyone. We had a brilliant time and will definitely be visiting again.

I visited as I had free tickets through Tesco clubcard. The zoo was really good although path ways very narrow and easily congested. More space to sit/stand around the penguins is needed. All feedings and appearances were late and not on time. Children could mark in a booklet when they had seen the animals but the stamps were years old and some did not work - all stamps were "ticks" and would have been better being an imprint of the animal. Hello kitty land was a let down as there are only three rides! Kids play area was really good although not fenced so we followed our little one on each activity, Despite the above "niggles" we had a really good day and would probably visit again in the future.

Took the 3 Grandchildren with 5 adults on Saturday and the night before I was able to buy online a 7 family entry ticket (as the youngest is under 2yrs) costing a lot less than other venues. Drove from Chatham to Drusillas park about 75 miles from then on all the adults and children loved it, food was brilliant, very sensible prices, the park staff first class and play area best I've ever seen.
Great Day Out.

A bold statement to make but I have been here numerous times with my young family and it never ceases to amaze me how good it is.

From the moment you walk in you are immersed with animals, trivia, facts and things for the kids to look out for. Then you have the zoolympics where you pit yourself against animal types of activities, all dotted around the zoo trail while seeking the animals.

Eventually you get to the enormous outdoor playground, or the large indoor playground if its raining, where you can spend a few hours letting your animals burn off some energy, before taking the train ride or riding the tea cups in the new hello kitty area.

There's something for everyone at Drusilla's, which is why we will be back soon.

I forgot to mention our recent visit was the busiest time ever with the overflow car park being full, but that didn't mean our day was spoiled, as the place has so much for everyone to see. Fantastic.

Drusillas is fantastic. We had our second visit there yesterday with our 4 children ages 7,9,11 and 13. From start to finish it was brilliant. There are just the right amount of animals to compliment the incredible play area which my kids said was the best play area / adventure playground they'd ever been on. The park is immaculate and there are friendly staff on hand everywhere you look to answer questions. In fact the atmosphere was that of such harmony, you can really tell it's a very tightly run ship with the owners very much hands on. A lovely family atmosphere with delicious well priced food and great amenities. Beautiful areas to sit, and should you wish to bring a picnic, great spots to do so in. The Hello Kitty garden is gorgeous and has great rides. The animals all look happy and content and their enclosures mirror the impeccably clean park. The longest we queued for a ride was about 3 minutes and that was on a gloriously hot day in August. Highly recommended and well worth the trip from Hertfordshire. All our kids said it was better than Whipsnade. The animals are perfect for up close experience for inquisitive little minds, helped by the super friendly helpful zookeepers. Well done Drusillas! You tick every box for a family day out.

We visited on a Friday in the summer holidays with our nearly 4 yr old twins. First thing I would say is that the staff are friendly and very helpful (rare in my experience at these theme park type places). The toilets were nice and clean all day with little toilet seats for the little ones. My twins loved the Thomas ride and the Hello Kitty bits as well as the animals.

Although this is a very small park there are a lot of animals and things to do/see packed in. This was also it's main downfall.... We visited during the school summer holidays so the park was very busy as expected. Unlike other zoos/parks you immediately enter the first animal 'corridor' as soon as you leave the pay booth. This leads to a massive bottle neck of people as they all stop to look at the first set of animals. Unfortunately the crowds do not disappear leaving paths and walkways feeling very small and you feel rushed to look at the animals then quickly move on to the next so you aren't run over with push chairs for overstaying your welcome. One more downside is that there is no where to stop and sit down/picnic around the park until you reach the very end where the main kiddies attractions are - it would have been nice to break up the day with food rather than going hungry all day then eating before leaving.
Other than that the park is very clean and well maintained with lots of 'fun facts' etc to amuse kids. Feeding the birds with a cup of nectar is a must!
Would recommend to friends but would advise them to pick when they go to a quieter period!

We have two girls aged 5 and 6 and half and we normally visit each year but found this year to be even more fun. Our girls always enjoy stamping the passports for each animal/ attraction they see which is a great idea. The play area is fantastic and really well maintained too. The Thomas ride is always enjoyable too. The girls especially enjoyed the new Kitty rides this and the small splash pad. The soft play too is a good size and a great way to finish the day or shelter from the rain. The food / drinks are really reasonable and good standard too.The staff are really pleasant too. The fact you can use Tesco points to pay is also an added bonus.
Fantastic day out

I went to drusillas park the other with my son and young sisters, I hadn't been here since I was about 13 years old which is almost 13 years ago. When I went there when I was younger I enjoyed it but I thought there was nothing special about it and even in the recent years I've thought I'm not paying that much to go somewhere that I weren't to fused with but since going there the other day my opinion has changed massively. I really liked the idea of the zoo Olympics as I even tried a few of them myself unfortunately I couldn't pull as much as a stable horse but there is always next time, my son loved the variety of animals and was in awe over the bright coloured birds. When it we arrived at the play area I admittedly was a bit jealous as I was too old for it now, the play area was amazing when I was young but now it is that good that my inner child is wanting to go wild and play but I contained myself. My son loved riding on Thomas I think that was his highlight of the day but for my sisters it was the hello kitty rides, they absolutely loved them! All in all it was an amazing day and for what you get the price is really good! Definitely coming back soon!

We live locally enough to have annual passes. This place is great and offers so much for a day out with little ones. The addition of the hello kitty garden is very welcome and our daughter thinks its brilliant.

Our one moan is that having a members and re-entry route it should be adhered to. My husband left the park to get our picnic at lunch (along with a lot of other dads with cool bags) and had to re queue because staff were letting day visitors through the "blue route". Its not a rare occurrence for people to pop to their cars for their lunches at this time of the day and there should be stricter controls on the gates at this time or a totally separate re entry point (would it hurt to have someone police the gate for an hour or so) to allow for this. I totally get the need to get the queues down the rest of the time but it makes a bit of a mockery of having it in the first place.

Like I say, one small gripe and it certainly won't stop us returning. Regularly. :)

I took my daughter here for the day to visit hello kitty land. The while place was amazing! The only gib I have is in the hello kitty boutique. My only gib is the hello kitty boutique. My daughter wanted her face painted with hello kitty. It was shocking! As my daughter said she looked like a tooth! When I complained to the girl behind the Till she said if I don't like it I can pay for it to be done again!! I left and complained to a manager. I got a full refund as I didn't want it to be done again as it took an hour to get it done the first time it was so busy. Other than that the place is great!

A real family day out.clean and welcoming and a real change for the exit not to be through a over priced shop. Highly recommended as a family venue and feeding the love birds is a must if you 3 or 50

I returned to the park with my Grandchildren having not been since my own children were little. I found that the park had moved on well with the times. The children are 2 & 6. My Granddaughter loved the zoo and the stamp collection encouraged her to take in the animals and the 'zoolympics' were fun for all of us. When we got to the amusement part the rides were mainly included and much enjoyed by both of them, 'Hello Kitty' and 'Thomas the Tank' both were big hits. There were challenging slides and climbing frames etc for both ages. We did not buy food as we took a picnic, the lagoon looked lovely but the weather was not settled enough to try it.
Drusilla's was loved in the 70-80s and was still magic.

We had previously visited Drusillas park in 2013 just as a day trip and enjoyed our day so much we decided to go back and celebrate my husbands 60th birthday this year (August 2014)
We had seen the fantastic animal encounters they offer and booked for my husband to take part in the meerkat experience as a special treat.
We arrived for opening time (10am) with our family... myself and husband, 4 of our children (28,20,19 &17) and our 2 grandchildren, (4 &2) the line was long but moved fast. We all agreed what a great value for money Drusillas is.
As you walk in you enter a wonderful animal walk through, lots to see and take in. Next is the bigger enclosures and their farm area, again all ages of our party enjoyed. There really is so much to see and do the map comes in handy. There is a new 'Hello Kitty secret garden' which was loved by our grandchildren and even our children. A tea cup ride, car ride and dropper which was suitable for even the adults to enjoy.
Thomas is just around the corner and we were lucky enough to go on a day the 'Fat controller' was in. He really played the part well and he made lots of effort with the birthday boy and even got our teenagers laughing. We then had lunch in the cafe by the play area... the food was fantastic, again a real value for money. Everyone left full and happy. The play area is right there so we spent some time playing and it really is a great area for all ages!
Keeping an eye on the time we headed back to the main gates to meet with Lauren the zoo keeper who would be taking my husband on his encounter.
Lauren was very friendly and made the experience that more fantastic. She first took my husband behind the scenes to show him where they prepare the food for all the animals. He then got the meerkat food and headed out to the enclosure where the rest of us where waiting.
The encounter itself was fantastic. He fed them and got to sit on rocks while Lauren answered any questions and then the meerkats started climbing all over him, it really was amazing. Other guests could see him in there and all seemed interested in knowing more about the experience. My husband spent about 45 minutes in the enclosure and loved every minute of it, again, Lauren was fantastic.
After the meerkat experience we ventured to the part of the park we hadn't seen yet and still had time for one last ride on Thomas and a play in Hello Kitty's garden.
All the staff we came into contact with were very friendly and polite. The whole day was wonderful and a perfect way to celebrate such a special occasion.
Im sure we will be back again.

Great day for kids and adults. Drusillas is a zoo, theme park, swim park and playground. Fun for all the family. The new Hello Kitty theme park even though only has 3 rides they are all very good rides and the girls loved them. I especially loved the Hello Kitty car ride so sweet. Love also Thomas Tank Engine train so good for the boys perhaps a Thomas Tank Engine area with rides for the boys would be good to add. The zoo was good with penguins, bearcat, bats etc that you can see. I especially loved the bird enclosure where you can feed them nectar for a £1 amazing. The play areas are also good so much for kids to play on. My niece especially loved the trampoline (in the under 6 play area).

Only reason I have marked it at 4 (Very Good) is becuase I feel that perhaps the playground rides needs a lick of paint but thats all. Also I wish the shop at the exit of the park was before Hello Kitty land as if I had known about this shop before exiting the park I would of spent my money there as when I appeared in through the window there was so many things such as Hello Kitty Skittles, Hello Kitty ball etc but alas I had already brought my niece toys earlier in the park so did not go into the shop. Perhaps all Hello Kitty play items and Thomas Tank engine play items should all be moved into the shop before entering the Hello Kitty theme park area as I think it would be suited there and you would sell a lot more that way especailly due to fact chrildren have to walk through that shop in the middle of your park.

Other than that a amazing park for kids of all ages and families.

Despite only living a few miles away we had never been to Drusillas, always believing it was overpriced and probably a bit rubbish. However, one rainy weekend in December, when we had some friends with young children down to stay and decided to give it a try; boy were we glad we did. All six of us, aged 5 to 50, had a great time. There seriously was something for everyone and it's brilliantly laid out, so much so that not even the rain and cold could wipe the smiles off our faces. In our opinion it's well worth a visit and good value for money.
