Nice that Eastbourne still has a pier, what is a seaside resort without a pier.
However, apart form views out to sea and inland, this like many others has become a little jaded.
2 small amusement arcades and a couple of small shops?
The best is the tearoom centrally located on the pier with it's very dramatic chandeliers.
Perhaps a must in terms of taking in the view(s) but a little disappointing in some ways.

Pier was opposite my hotel so obliged to walk along it, which wasn't too windy and had plenty of seating. Nothing much to interest me except for the lovely Victorian Tea Room (review elsewhere). Usual little souvenir shops,

A fun place to be with lots of things to see for kids and adults alike, weather was nice and hot and kids enjoyed their sweets and entertainment was good.

It's a nice enough pier, it's in work in progress stage but it's still a pleasent work upto the point. If your in Eastbourne then it's worth a walk upto it. My only concern is the sections around the pier where there seems to be a gathering of drunks, although they don't seem to cause problems it's not a nice sight and could be off putting for future visitors.

This beautiful Pier is getting a facelift , so time will improve it's looks. However one can enjoy the structure and look back at the shaw line / buildings .

Pretty, not as crowded as the pier in Brighton and a bit shorter. Great fish and chips just at the entrance of the pier on your right. Whatever food you have there, make sure you eat it fast, those seagulls are after every piece of it and they stop at nothing to get it. Trust me, no matter if you are big or small, they are not afraid of you. They are not only after your food tho- whatever you hold in your hand and away from your pockets can become their target. And man, they a huuuge!

Lovely walk down the pier to check out the views.
Different things to do on the pier like a little arcade and fish and chippies. Plenty of seating around.

One of the best piers in the country. I do love this one. Very picturesque and so easy to walk down. Also numerous places to sit down if you've had enough

I grew up in Eastbourne several decades ago. It was great to time trip back as it has hardly changed. Free to enter. Not a huge amount of things to do apart from walk and enjoy the amazing views and fresh sea air. Still got some slot machines and the glass animal making studio!

More gold paint appearing all the time and more lions than on safari. Some areas still need a makeover. Walkway under pier is very 'tatty' and encourages undesirables sometimes. Victorian tea rooms was disappointing this time. Not busy but waited ages to be served and glass tops on tables were very smeared and looked bad for a food place. Left without ordering

Nothing much to say about pier. The beach near the pier was good but the pier was as good as any other pier in uk

Don't miss going to the Pier whilst you are in Eastbourne, stop for tea and cakes in the tea room there, very 1930's feel with sea views and look in to the shop nearby selling hand blown glass ornaments, great for souvenirs or gifts to take home, they are stunningly beautiful and quite unique.

Overpriced Fish and chips.
But always worth a treat.
A few shops too.
They've done well since it caught fire.
Plenty of seating.
Lovely views!

You cannot really go to Eastbourne without taking a walk along the pier and its not looking too bad at all although time will tell as to what the owners end up doing with it.

well worth a visit the repairs do not get in the way at all, the cafe in the middle of the pier serves light lunches of excellent quality

Speaking to a shopkeeper there, she told us that there had been a bad fire on the pier and the evidence was there to see - lights deformed because they had melted in the heat. She said the pier wasn't the same. But, even so, I'd recommend a visit. There is a lovely gift shop selling quirky seaside memorabilia - great fun and inexpensive! There's the Victorian tearoom - lovely cream teas! Actually there's quite a lot to see!

A traditional pier which is good for strolling. There is a victorian tea rooms there for coffee and afternoon tea which is welcome when the wind is blowing in the winter but a bit hot in summer.

Other than a few slot machines there are no other amusements - it will be interesting to see what the new owner provides in the future.

Fourth time staying in Eastbourne .As usual we had our walk along the pier.I noticed the towers painted gold and thought that looks odd. Then I saw the banner Sheikhs Pier.So I went on google and learned it was now owned by a gentlemen from India who owns hotels in the area.It is good hes finishing off the repairs but was sorry to see that now no more fishing allowed,no more dogs and some of the little kiosks now have gaming machines.I wouldn't mind paying a £1 to go on the pier as has been suggested but please allow the fishermen back and dogs and put back the shop keepers (loved looking at the unusual seaside souvenirs ) People dont like change thats why Eastbourne is called a traditional British seaside resort.Traditional being the word.I hope when we go back again its as it was .Not that it can without its dome but as near as possible would be great.

Went for a walk along the pier. It was the first time we had visited it since its reopening after the fire. A lot quieter and not as much to see as there used to be. Lovely tea room and a bar though. Very surprised to see tacky gold painting on the domes. Not the traditional blue which fits in a lot better with Victorian Eastbourne. I do hope however that the new owners are able to restore it back to its former glory.

We thought the revamped pier was in keeping with Eastbourne sea front. Not controversial at all. A lot of time and effort has been put into making the pier good again

A sunny day spent here at the beach was absolutely lovely. Soaked in the sun, had chips by the pier and then had coffee by a roadside cafe. The walk up and down the beach is very relaxing

We had tea in the Victorian Tea room on the pier, it was really good and great value indeed, well recommended. We also saw a little glass shop where they make their own little ornaments, very pretty designs and lovely to buy as a gift.
