Vas and his team went out of their way to get a reservation for us and it lead to a fantastic visit last Sunday evening. We were served very quickly by Christina and the menu offers great variety in Greek food. The shared starters were so tasty as was the lamb as always - perfectly cooked and fell off the bone. Drinks are reasonably priced and this all adds up to one of our favourite and best restaurants in Eastbourne. Thoroughly recommended!!

We returned to the Great to celebrate my birthday and as always it was great. How lovely to be back and see the place buzzing. Staff friendly and courteous our shared mezze lunch delicious and it brought back fond memories of our time in Crete. Thank you everyone, see you soon.

My wife and I visited this restaurant last night, Sat. 29May 2021, to celebrate my wife’s 50th Birthday and a good friend of ours who also turns 50 very soon. The owner was very polite and attentive, as we have visited this restaurant before and sat downstairs, which has a cosy feel, and is less busy than upstairs. Our waitress was also great, and it’s lovely eating somewhere my wife can safely eat, being she is a Coeliac. We all enjoyed the meze menu, especially the beef dish and cheese dish, but all courses were lovely. The owner called me regarding our booking, as he was concerned about us eating downstairs, as he wasn’t due to open downstairs again until next week, but we had a lovely evening and it was great to be cosy. If you like Greek food, this is a must visit!

We ordered the Meze experience for two and it was delicious, complemented by an excellent Greek rosé wine. Meze consisted of multiple starters, both hot and cold including pittas and dips, main courses of beef and chicken served with rice, salad and chips, and finished with baklava and ice cream.

Always a welcome here for everyone. Has to be one of the greatest Greek Restaurants in the UK I have dined at, and beats a few in Greece to in my opinion. A relaxed longish lunch. We sampled the 'mini meze' for a second time on this visit. You may not think it is that mini when you have finally cleaned the last dish.

Lovely food, COVID friendly and very enjoyable return to socialising. However ......where was the grilled cheese and pitta in the meze!! We really missed that!

So pleased this restaurant is now open properly again - as ever, the food and service are wonderful and we would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting fresh, authentic Greek food at a reasonable price. Quite the best restaurant in Eastbourne and our personal favourite!!

After a long wait, we finally decided to visit our neighbour -The Gr/eat Greek restaurant with my colleagues. Food was cooked to perfection, plenty for your money. Service was great, the girl was lovely, chatty in a good way and helpful with menu options. Even with a mask on, you could tell it was still 'service with a smile.'
We started with some lovely breads served with huge amount of salads, tzatziki and other dips. Enjoyed it to its full with our drinks. And for the mains, we shared 2 platters which are Aegean Seafood and Olympus Grll, Arnissio Sauvlaki and Pitta bread wrap with chicken and hallomi. Everything was so fresh and homemade, can't recommend enough, DELICIOUS!!
Thank you so much for offering me your downstairs to feed my baby. Though I had some privacy, I should say this too, what a lovely and cozy place it is! Best for private events and make you feel home. £190 for 7 of us including beers, wines, soft drinks and hot chocolates, we would say it was a steal!!

We live in Hastings and won a weekend stay at an Eastbourne hotel so we're wandering round looking for a restaurant for dinner. We came across GR/eat and as we live Greek food thought we would give it a try. What a delight, the welcome was warm and friendly, the atmosphere lovely and the food was awesome!!! THE most authentic Greek food we have had outside of Greece. We have been back for times now and they never disappoint. Can't wait to be able to return after lockdown.
