Recently visited Eastbourne on a short break and pre-booked this restaurant based on reviews. We were certainly not disappointed and, in fact, went back a second night because we were so impressed. The restaurant was busy and had a great atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We had the Greek Meze, which was just amazing. Every dish was fresh, delicious and well presented. We had a bottle of the Greek red wine Agiorgitiko, which was very reasonably priced and we would recommend. This restaurant deserves its great reviews; excellent food, exceptional value and dining experience. We would highly recommend a visit if you are in Eastbourne; we will certainly be back if we are in the area.

This place was really quite good! We have the chicken and the prawns/muscles and both were very good. The taramasolata was also probably the best I've had. The only food which was good but not the best was the hummus.

Recent long weekend in Eastbourne saw us visit here on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch. Place was busy, food looked good, people sitting inside and out so opted for one of only 2 free tables inside. Shared a great Greek salad (large) chips, and zamponatirnopitakia/ham filo parcels - tasty and filling. Washed down with a couple mythos beers this was a very civilised way to spend an afternoon, enjoying seeing others celebrate family occasions and just while away time with friends - something we've waited a long time for. Service really good and food tasty and very keenly priced.

Tried the "Olympus Grill Platter For Two" yesterday lunchtime ( Saturday 26th June ) on the recommendation of the always attentive lady server - sorry don't know her name! An excellent choice. Thank you!
The meal was extremely tasty! Everything cooked to absolute perfection - the sausages and hamburgers in particular being spot on reminding us of our many many Greek island trips spanning all the island groups.
The frappe coffee to finish was as good as it gets!
Gr / Eat has been our "go to" restaurant in Eastbourne ever since it first opened five years or so ago. Sadly we are not local so our visits are not that frequent! Vasilis and his team are simply exceptional in all respects. At the present time the whole experience felt very Covid secure!
A word of warning, it is advisable to book! This place is highly popular and deservedly so!

My sister and I visited Gr/Eat for lunch yesterday as we were having a much needed day at the coast for a bit of sea air & shopping. We hadn't been able to come for some time due to lockdowns etc. as we live near London. We knew from previous visits they had very good Covid safety measures in place so had no doubts it would be safe to visit. We chose a nice comfortable table in the window so we could watch the world go by as we ate. The food was just as lovely, fresh & tasty as it's always been. We both decided on a full meal for a change rather than the usual mezze and we were not at all disappointed. The humus and pitta bread seemed particularly good after having to have shop bought at home for so long! I then had the chicken souvlaki and my sister had the grilled veg & halloumi salad - both meals tasted as good as they looked. We are so glad Gr/eat are still here after so much disruption over the past year or so and look forward to visiting again as soon as possible.

Real fantastic food with Greek charm. Live on London Great to find a restaurant in my home town worthy of London standards. Great hospitality charming waiter from Athens and the owner was also bet hospitable even though we went past chucking out time for Lunch. High recommend the Meze very big portions. The wine that was recommended to us was spot on (Black Sheep) . Let the pictures describe the rest

I have been 3 times for various occasions and every time i am greeted with a warm greek welcome by either the owner Vasilis or another one of their friendly staff.
I have been to several greek restaurants in sussex and GR-EAT is by far the best greek restaurant in the county and is by far my favourite restaurant in the world.
the food is amazing , tasty , wholesome and very good value for money.
i cannot wait to come back for lunch on my week off very soon to enjoy the delights all over again and multiple times again in the not to distant future.

Perfect in every way. Booked for lunch and sat outside. The staff were most attentive. Just how a restaurant should be. Once we had settled in, the very nice waiter asked what we would like to drink; ouzo and lager; perfect. My boyfriend and I had the set lunch. The weather was beautiful and it really made us feel we were on holiday in Greece. The lady waitress was charming, typical of the Greeks warm welcome. For starters, we had the tzatziki and the spinach and feta triangular pastries, which were delicious. For the main, chicken souvlaki and Greek sausages, all of which were very tasty. Thank you. Would fully recommend this deli and restaurant. To my surprise, when I had to go inside, it was packed. Not surprising as this place is excellent.
