We are regular day visitors to Eastbourne and usually visit the Hydro for lunch. The restaurant is beutifully appointed and has been completely redecorated within the past 18 months, crystal chandeliers etc . The set lunches are the best value in town. Where else would you get a three course lunch, linen table cloths, full silver service, all for about £11 per head ??
They appear to aim for the well heeled retirement market and have certainly succeded. Sometimes it is impossible to book a table at the weekend for several weeks.
They also have a good buffet lunch in the conservatory which is always popular. We have not stayed for a night, so can't comment on the rooms, but friends have said that the are very good value.
