Our room was lovely the view was fantastic.the bathroom was luxurious in every way from the toiletries provided to the fluffiest towels .both myself and my husband wore the slippers provided every time when we were in our room.it was a treat to go to bed each evening with the sound of the waves ending yet another perfect day.the staff (without exception)were so attentive to our every need and honestly so genuine in their approach to us with conversation etc.the food was top class and we would recommend the langham hotel if you like the nice things in life and want to be looked after on your holidays.

I have not stayed at the hotel although I hope to another time.
I had a cream tea there last year and today went for fish & chips which was recommended to me by a local.
Food was fantastic, good fresh fish and a good price only £3.00 more than buying it take away from a chip shop ... Plus much nicer and presentation good too.
Great to eat outside on the front patio / terrace where the views are good as the hotel is on the end on a corner with a great outlook.
Nick served me in the bar and he was polite, professional and friendly and there's a pleasant welcoming atmosphere.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for food and drink. I will go again. Polite and friendly staff really make a difference.

As soon as we arrived by car a porter was asking if we needed assistance, which was a great first impression. The reception staff were very welcoming with a relaxed and friendly approach. Our room on the first floor was impressive to enter - an immediate quality of decor was evident with luxurious drapes around a huge bay window and an unobstructed view of the beach and sea of Eastbourne with its elegant pier. The room furnishings all tie in with the drape colour scheme with wallpaper and some chairs, cushions etc in a William Morris style fabric too. A lot of investment and thought has been put into the room decor. The armchairs were very comfortable and high quality too - we sat in the bay window together with the sash windows wide open (a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of London). You can tell the hotel owner comes from a five star background as everything is executed with attention to detail. For example, the tables are laid correctly, the breakfast service is flawless in quality and the staff are polite and helpful without being unobtrusive. I am a great believer that a positive attitude of hotel staff always filters down from the management. An example of a detail in the room is that each side of the bed, at bedside level, has a separate plug (with USB facility) which is so important (these days) as not everyone wants to sit at a desk to browse the Internet etc or set the alarm on their phone. Many thanks for a nice stay.

I brought my Mom here for 2 nights by the sea. It was our second stay at the Langham.

We were really impressed with the staff and thank Neil and his whole team for caring so much about guests. Lucas deserves a special mention as he served us in the restaurant faultlessly and had a lovely, endearing manner with subtle humour. He made us smile.

Our sea view, from room 106, was to die for with a lovely bay window and floor to ceiling glass.

I used to choose the Cavendish but that has gone seriously downhill since it was taken over by Britannia Hotels so now I will always choose the Langham as great service is priceless.

Thanks guys and hopefully see you soon!

For the last two years I have been attending the twice monthly Langham Ladies Lunches (gentlemen also welcome) with friends. I am just permanently amazed at the brilliant value for money. A quality speaker, an excellent 3 course meal with red or white wine followed by tea/coffee and all preceded by a glass of Prosecco on arrival. I cannot see how these events could possibly be improved. Average attendance is around 120 people. I've always avoided what I call 'mass catering' in the past as I imagine the food to be inferior but the Langham continues to exceed my expectations and I am never disappointed. Have also tried their afternoon tea which was also superb and I want to send a personal 'thank you' to Lucas who served us with such grace and patience especially as one of my friends dithered between Earl Grey or Lady Grey tea so she was given a pot of both at no extra cost. My absolute favourite hotel.

The hotel is undergoing a refurb on 3rd floor. Our room, 310, hadn't been refurbished but that wasn't the problem. The twin bedded room was so small there was only a 6" gap between corner of one bed and the shower room wall corner. We constantly banged our knees trying to get past. Extremely small room for two people. The hotel porter couldn't get our suitcases into the room but had to leave them just inside the door. Not what you would expect from a 4* hotel.

Food excellent as were the staff. Nothing too much trouble for the waiters. The hotel is in a perfect situation facing the sea.

Shame on our coach tour company, Wilfreda Beehive, Doncaster, for their attitude towards our complaint. As no one had previously complained before, our grumble was dismissed.

Lovely hotel but avoid Room 310..

I love going to the ladies lunches, although men do come of course, yesterdays was exceptional. Tom Hart Dyke is an inspiration filled with joy and love well worth hearing him speak if you ever get the opportunity, especially at the Langham Hotel, which is always a joy to visit.

Thank you, super lunch.

Just stayed at the Langham Hotel for one night during the annual Airbourne air show.

Good location on seafront, before you get to the main promenade area and pier. We had a top floor sea view room. View was lovely and room was large and bright, and tastefully decorated with a double wardrobe, dressing table and tv. Coffee making facilities and two bottles of water were also supplied in room.

All staff around the hotel were friendly and pleasant and always happy to help

We only ate breakfast at the hotel and this was lovely, seated in the conservatory dining area overlooking the sea. Food and coffee were both excellent. Poached eggs cooked to perfection and the bacon was grilled and not dripping in oil, which is always a plus!

Check out was quick and efficient even though the reception staff were very busy, they handled everything quickly and smoothly. We were given two bottles of water for the journey home which I thought was a nice touch from the hotel.

Thanks for a great overnight stay and would definitely look to stay here again next time.

Good location on the sea front and a short walk into town (15 minutes). Food here is very good and different choices every day. Nice small bar area with lounge to sit in the evening. Though give the comedian night a miss.

Brilliant place for coffee & homemade flapjacks ( free with your coffee). We had a lovely Sunday lunch in the conservatory overlooking the sea. The food and service was great and the cost was very reasonable. We shall certainly come again

Came here for our Anniversary. Very nice rooms, although bathroom a little cramped.
Very nice meal in the conservatory. Lovely Verandah to enjoy a nice cold beer and a Lovely sea view. Good parking. Friendly Staff.
The only tiny blip was I had to ask for our toast at breakfast 3 times, which by then we had already eaten it.

Wonderful hotel. Amberley Room was spacious and luxurious. Disabled bathroom in 116 was ideal. Staff were lovely: attentive and kind. Food, particularly dinner, was delicious. Eastbourne is a very pleasant town and nearby Beachy Head is well worth a visit.

Take a sea view room for maximum impact, it's worth extra. The conservatory area of the restaurant over looks the sea and serves great food for all tastes.
Its bar area has signed pictures of many famous stars sportsmen and celebrities including those who have stayed their.
Evening entertainment on selected nights in the basement area.
Wonderful walks east and west from the hotel along the sea paths
The downs are close bye and two good theatres..

We have just returned from a 7 day break to Eastbourne travelling with Wilfreda Beehive staying at this hotel.
The hotel is located on the sea front just a ten minute walk from the Pier. There is a ramp outside for disabled access and there is a lift.
We stayed in room 219 at the back of the hotel. (Our request had been for a quiet room not on the ground floor). Recently decorated but just a little on the small side although adequate for 2 people. The room comprised of a flat screen TV, Coffee/tea making facility, comfortable double bed, 2 bed side cupboards, desk and chair, 3 drawer chest, open wardrobe set in a recess under an arch, table top fan. Modern lighting, The bathroom was again on the small size comprising of WC (not a lot of room to extend your elbows if you wanted to read the paper!) Stand alone shower and washbasin. There is a heated towel rail.
Reception were efficient and polite. Room key was made available very quickly on arrival.
Food. Breakfast. Very good varied selection served at the table.
Dinner. Good choice of Starter. Main course choice of 4 dishes one of which was a meat dish.
Dessert. Choice of 3. The Cheesecakes were delicious.
Service. Very good, smart and polite staff.
Food quality and variety was very good (in my opinion close to excellent at times)
We were seated on a table for 10 people.
Our party of 10 seated at our table became concerned when it appeared we were always the last table to be served, on a number of occasions there was a delay in later courses being served and some of us would also have liked coffee and tea to have been served at breakfast once we had all been seated whilst waiting for the first course, not having to wait until breakfast was underway.
These 3 points I discussed with Reception and all appeared to have been resolved for the remainder of our stay. (The hotel was full until the last 2 days of our holiday)
Anyone wishing to travel to Bexhill on Sea or Hastings by bus can do so by catching the No 99 bus 100 yards after turning left outside the hotel along the main road. It runs approx. every 20 minutes.
I would recommend this hotel. The owner is aiming for continuous improvement and is well on the way to achieving this.

We've stayed here a few times and always have a great stay, choose a room with a view of the sea, picture windows are wonderful. Our room had William Morris wallpaper, quality fittings throughout, high ceilings and as mentioned a brilliant view of the sea and pier. Staff are really helpful and friendly.

Elected for sea view room and booked only the day before.

Parking a big factor in our choice of hotel so though only 9 bays parking adjacent to it there was ample secure parking only a couple of hundred yards away and we were offered option of upgrading on day of departure to allow my partner to change into her frock!

Room had nice view and was comfortable with modern en suite of a good standard.

All courses of breakfast were served and I particularly recommend the fruit salad or porridge starter. We were offered seats in window overlooking beach which made us feel like VIP guests.

Though we dined out after a comfortable few hours in our room we enjoyed a nightcap in the spacious and comfortable lounge bar and its interesting photos and posters around the wall, comfortable chairs and informative description of a local attraction (Sovereign Lighthouse) create a great ambience and the service was friendly and efficient throughout.

Before departure we met the proprietor who was mixing very easily with the guests while his wife supervised the very well run reception. I enjoyed speaking to both and it all added to the sense of a friendly well run family business where little things like the complimentary bottles of water we were offered on departure underline a dedication to customer service and a warmth and attention to detail that I've not often encountered outside of the London luxury market and at affordable prices.

In summary I think we shall die in the restaurant at least once due
Ring our next stay which I hope will be soon!!

Returned 31st July 2016 from a six night stay at the Langham, as members of a coach party. The hotel is a decent standard establishment, although it aspires to greater things. Cannot comment on parking. Our first floor room, rear of building, overlooked local rooftops, was small, but well appointed, decent standard complimentary toiletries, non-slip rubber bath mat provided essential for high-gloss modern bath, plenty of drawer space, twelve hangers in the closet, excellent towels (changed daily), good bedding and bed, fan a welcome touch as the room would have been stifling without it (windows only open the health and safety requirement). Some floors refurbished, but a member of our party on the third floor had a room that had not been, and it showed, advise to check if booking. Bathroom very nice, amazing plumbing system, as the vast amounts of hot water display.
Whether the kitchen and serving staff can cope as well as the management may wish with large groups of people dining at one sitting is another matter. Waiting for breakfast drinks for extended periods (on one occasion 25 minutes, management were informed by our table, sad to have to report having to bring issues like this up, people in the catering/ hospitality trade work so hard). Reasonable quality food and beverages served, and waiting staff obliging.
It is a decent establishment, but not excellent rating.

We have stayed in many English hotels, some we have liked, some we would never stay again and some were almost perfect. However, after our two night stay at The Langham we think we have found a very near perfect stay. We can't speak for other rooms but our room on the 3rd floor, tucked away, was so quiet, with a glorious sea view, was excellent. It was immaculately clean, stylish and well maintained. The bathroom was large and again immaculately clean. The staff were friendly, happy and very attentive but not in an invasive way. Although very spooky at times, because they seemed to know what you needed just as you realised yourself. We can not fault the food, especially the lamb cutlets. Breakfast was delicious, one word of warning, if you have the poached haddock..... it's huge.... lol... On our first morning we went down to breakfast and by the time we came back to our room, housekeeping had already been and left our room cleaned and preened. The whole atmosphere is very relaxing and comfortable.

Thank you for a wonderful few days... Your attentiveness was very much appreciated, even to the last, as when we were booking out you offered us water for our journey. Again, you read our minds. We will definitely by returning.... but only if our room on the 3rd floor is available...

I booked afternoon tea for my Mum & Dad at the Langham Hotel. Simon the hotel Manager placed the booking, he was very polite courteous and helpful. I explained to Simon that it was my Dad's 60th birthday and also my parents wedding anniversary on the following Monday. He said, leave this with him and he will ensure they have an afternoon to remember.
My parents thoroughly enjoyed themselves and felt like royalty. The waiter that was looking after them could not do enough for them, they had numerous pots of tea and also surprised them with a special birthday cake which was fantastic.

I can not thank Simon and his staff enough for making my parents visit a remarkable one.
