We stayed in one of the new junior suites overlooking the sea. Bathrobes, slippers, bottled water, etc. Check-in went smoothly, and the staff were very attentive. Free WiFi at the check-in and a newspaper delivered at my room the next morning. I decided to have dinner at the restaurant, once again the food and service was great, and good value for money. I purchased the owner's autobiography, 'Celebrity Hotel' - he says he's been in the hotel business for 49 years, and you can see that they are a hands on family run hotel. We'll be certainly returning.

I booked this hotel due to a very competitive rate and the good reviews.
After arriving fairly late at night, I was waiting at reception for a few minutes before a gentleman came to assist. I understand that staff are sometimes held up, so that was no issue, but it was disappointing to not even receive a simple "sorry to keep you waiting". Also, another member of staff walked by and could see I was waiting, but didn't decide to ask if I had been served. Not the best first impression. I was given my room key and told about breakfast timings. Upon my enquiring as to what time check out was, the gentleman proceeded to say 10:00.....but with 10:30 the latest, as this was to help the housekeeping. Considering 10:30 is already an early check out time compared to a lot of hotels, to be told initially 10:00 to help the housekeeping staff placed an unwanted thought of am "I going to be seen as a burden if I check out at 10:30?" The gentleman, however was polite whilst giving me this information.
The room (single, sea view) was small but perfectly adequate for one night stay. The shower room was modern and clean. Though, it was a bit dark when the door was closed, but no biggie. The room was very warm during the night, even with the window open. You can hear noise from the road, which didn't affect me personally, but could do if you are a light sleeper.
Free wifi is stable and fast. By the way, the in room information booklet says to get an authorisation code from reception for the wifi, but this is obviously old information as you just have to select the hotel's wifi on your device and it connects without the need of an authorisation code.
I didn't eat in the hotel, but the catering here seems to be highly praised.
Check out was better handled than the check in.
Overall, it was a good experience. The first impressions weren't great, but the rest was good.

My father needed a very well earned break from looking after mum so we decided to not only give his new car a run but visit a town I used to live in, we chose the Langham for its position and great reviews we couldn't have done better the warm welcome from the staff and Neil and his lovely wife made us feel at home and we had a sea facing room which had a view to die for! The bed was very comfortable and everything was immaculate in presentation the bathroom too was fabulous and the heavy top quality towels complete with the hotels motif were luxurious. The evening entertainment was a lovely husband and wife team who had great voices and every one up dancing and enjoying a great evening, breakfast was served in the front terrace area which with its beautiful views along with a top quality breakfast set us up for another enjoyable day in Eastbourne, in short fantastic Hotel with lovely staff warm sincere welcome great food and service sensibly priced, all in all good old fashion hospitality at its best A Big thanks from us both be back soon !

What a great little hotel with a big name. Right on the seafront in Eastbourne. Step across the road to walk on the beach. OK for Australians there's no sand, but for those of use from UK the pebbles mean history.
The hotel has neat tidy rooms most over looking the water with views of the pier. Very clean and tidy and serviced regularly.

Been here for afternoon tea multiple times, they are very accommodating for your needs, great selection of cakes which are different each time you go! Scones are amazing and always served warm. When I did have a problem they sorted it and gave me a voucher for afternoon tea for two which was great!
Would 100% visit again!

Our trip was a gift to my mother for her 80th birthday, we had booked 2 of the 4 poster rooms and requested that my mother had the better one. She was absolutely thrilled with the room and the sea view as was my father. The staff for the main part were friendly and the food was excellent and in abundance. The 4 poster room my husband and I had unfortunately had a horrible smell and after one night requested to be moved, we then took the Cuckmere room which was beautiful - newly refurbished and fantastic sea view and spacious with beautiful walk in shower, definitely recommend. There was entertainment on 2 of our 3 night stay and the Friday night entertainment was excellent, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves listening to a married couple with great voices.

Second visit to this fabulous hotel on a bowls tour. All the staff are pleasant, helpful and professional. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. There is a wide choice to suit all palates. From breakfast to dinner the meals are faultless. We actually stayed in the same room, too, and this had been recently refurbished to a very high standard. Evening entertainment was provided and we were also able to do our own quizzes etc. The situation is good too as it is right at the end of the parade with excellent sea views, but a short walk to the pier and shopping centre.

I've reviewed the Langham on a number of occasions and again, I feel compelled to praise it. The last two rooms we have stayed in are absolutely lovely - they have been refurbished to a very high standard and the bathrooms are stunning. Heated floors, superb showers - everything is great. Staff are professional and polite and the breafast is gorgeous too. I always opt for the scrambled eggs with salmon which sets me up for the day ahead. This isn't a criticism, just advice regarding the parking. Book in advance to get parking onsite (free) or expect a five minute walk to the local TA car park where you can leave your car in a secure environment free of charge. All in all, a great hotel in a nice little seaside town.

Langham is a cost hotel overlooking the sea at Eastbourne. The bathroom was clean and well laid out. The staff were very hospitable and the breakfast in the conservatory was delightful. Some of the common areas are a bit dated though

Having decided to visit Eastbourne at very short notice we decided to contact the Langham Hotel. We had visited the hotel in the past and received very good service.
We contacted the Langham on Tuesday morning and spoke to Peter. Peter went out of his way to accommodate us. He managed to offer us a room for three nights as we required. On the second night of our stay we required an another single room for two nights which considering the large number of guess staying at the hotel he manage to obtain for us. as before the standard of the rooms the restaurant and all of the staff was first class. We would like to thank everyone at the hotel for their excellent service.

What can we say about the Langham,
Fantastic breakfasts served in the lovely conservatory over looking the sea,
Excellent evening meals, presented lovely and with great staff, friendly and willing to help with anything you need.
All rooms are lovely, but this time we stayed in a newly renovated room - basically 2 rooms knocked into one, no expense has been spared as Neil and Wendy have applied all their expertise in the decor and design.
Neil, his family and staff are there to make your stay as enjoyable as possible,
We really love the place and can't wait to return.
It's a must try hotel and you will be hooked!
Enjoy

My masonic Lodge Old England held our annual Ladies Festival last weekend at the Langham. I see that one of my friends has already reported on this super friendly comfortable hotel. I should just like to add that if any other Lodge is considering coming to the Langham do not hestitate just book up. Neil the owner and his team are experts at making your weekend special.

Chose the hotel for the name, but it wasn't exactly the posh getaway, not that that's what we went for. The room basically did the job, and well. Beds were comfortable, clean but nothing really above and beyond the basic necessities hence the average rating. It's a pretty old building, part of the charm I guess. The hot water in the shower was an art to manoeuvre but what made up for anything was the sea view. Amazing. Ask for it, worth it!
Location was a bit off centre from what we would've preferred but then again, there's a bus stop across the street from it.
Overall, a good experience, good value for money.

Lovely views of the sea great location. This hotel is very comfortable and not noise.

We came here some years ago and were not very impressed.
Wow what a difference, the rooms are much better and the general decor is smarter, clean and tidy.
The food was very good indeed. We had lamb on the Saturday night and it was some of the best we have ever had. On the Friday I had the fish and chips (more like whale and chips) really very good with clean white flesh and crisp batter.

We stayed here for a Masons Ladies festival and had a very enjoyable time. The staff go over and above and were never flustered even dealing with the 90 of us. The food is good, a bit better than average hotel food and quite tasty. The rooms are quite small we stayed in 228 and there was not a lot of room around the bed. The bed itself was very comfortable and we had two good night's sleep. The hotel is a fair way to the town but a very enjoyable walk. We would definitely visit again!

We yesterday enjoyed a birthday celebratory lunch with friends and family at this excellent hotel. From the initial planning through to the actual party, nothing was too much trouble for Simon and the staff of The Langham. An area for guests to enjoy pre lunch drinks was made available and, on moving to the dining room, we all enjoyed a superb meal served by attentive staff. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our party, as did our guests. We look forward to further visits to the hotel in the future. Many thanks.

This was just a one night stay, booked a double with sea view.

Arrived an hour before the 2:30 book in but our room was ready, freshly decorated, good size room with a decent tv & proper chairs to watch tv (beats sitting on end of bed as some hotels seem to think is acceptable)

Nice bathroom with shower. I noticed the corridors had also recently been carpeted & decorated. Paid £7 for parking at rear of hotel but gave peace of mind although like many places cars either side straddled the lines to make parking difficult (not the hotel's fault)

After we arrived we had a light lunch in the bar overlooking the sea on a sunny day although sandwiches were not the best, not well filled & not cheap for the money with just four crisps added to a couple of bits of cucumber.

But the food otherwise was great, had a very good meal in the evening, nice restaurant but sat in conservatory as seemed to be coach trips taken up most of the restaurant & no tables set for two where as conservatory set for twos. Sat there too for breakfast.

Now for breakfast, no complaints again, very nice. Even a request for more toast & coffee cheerfully supplied.

I must say from booking in & out, restaurant & bar all the staff very nice throughout the hotel.

Other than my gripe on lunch do not let that detract as we were very pleased overall, based on the visit we experienced I can only fully recommend.

Well done The Langham!

I stay in Eastbourne regularly to visit family.
My first visit to this hotel was with my husband. Our book in was fine but my brothers had not been booked correctly and the desk receptionist was really helpful.
Great room, great bath; not great if you have dodgy knees- it's very high to climb in and out of.
Nice robes, nice bed- all in a very pleasant stay: it encouraged me to rebook a few nights later.
Good breakfast in the morning, a few mini mishaps but it looked like lots of staff were in training.

The hotel was clean and tidy and the staff very friendly. The food was excellent and there was plenty of it. The room [331] was very good, well decorated, on the 3rd floor with an excellent sea view. A great two day stay.

Once again the staff at the Langham have gone the extra mile to make our stay a wonderful and memorable one. From check-in to check-out, the service was second-to-none.
We arrived early on Saturday (10am), and was able to drop our bags at the hotel - they even released the room to us a few minutes later.
There are a number of little added-extras provided that makes the stay that little bit more enjoyable - hot drinks are served with freshly cooked shortbread and/or flapjacks.Staff are very friendly and attentive.
We were attending a ladies festival, and couldn't have asked for better service. The food was delicious, and everything ran smoothly from start to finish. We have already booked our ladies festival weekend at the hotel for next year. I am certain it will be excellent.

I stayed here for a weekend from the Friday to Sunday attending a Masonic ladies weekend. I had a single room which overlooked the beach. Great view, room was dated but I believe they are updating the rooms. It had tea/coffee facilities in the room along with biscuits all complimentary. Shower and bath along with robe. The staff were friendly and went out of their way to help you. The first night we went to bed at 04.30 and the accommodated us at the bar. The breakfast had everything you wanted from continental to full English. We had an two evening meals and again food was excellent. It's walking distance to the promenade and a few minutes past that your in the city centre so great location. It's a cosy hotel near to the vicinities. There were about 40 ish people in our group. So they catered well for us and when we left they gave us a bottle of water for our journey home. Nice finishing touch thank you. I'd definitely go back.

If you love the old style seaside town and hotels , eastbourne is ideal, for a short break and not to far from London. We had a lovely sea view very cosy room. The midday bar food of sandwiches and salad,s etc very well presented and reasonably priced. Also the resturant has a very good selection of good quality food, and the service is second to none.Having bottled water in our room and given water for the journey home was a nice touch.Breakfast was waiter/waitress service with a big selection, including freshly cooked poached eggs.
