Pomodoro is an Italian Restaurant with a difference;
The food is very good and the service is better than average even when the place is full like most weekends throughout the year.
What is distinctive about Pomodoro is the family friendly attitude of the management and staff which makes it a pleasurable outing for parents with children after a long day shopping and sight seeing as a tourist or after hard week's work and graft as a local resident.
It is also a great place for a romantic dinner with your partner or spouse on a Friday or Saturday evening.
Moreover; if you like Italian cuisine; you will love the various exotic choices on the menu.

Very busy, especially at the weekend. Good food of typical Italian restaurant style not that there is anything wrong in that .

One of the most popular restaurants in Eastbourne and a favourite choice with group organisers. Prices are reasonable, the Italian and other dishes first class. The staff are courteous and efficient the only possible criticism being that the restaurant is, at times, rather noisy. However in such a spacious, frequently full establishment, little can be done about this problem.

Unfortunately too many tables for 2 squeezed in on the one night. This made service difficult and the kitchen was having to work very hard. Not our best experience this time.

We have visited several times for informal family dinners. This place can get very busy and then the service goes downhill. The last time we were there we had an hours wait between starters and mains. We were sitting downstairs which is not nearly as pleasant as the upstairs dining area . One of our party did get a complimentary coffee to apologise for the long wait.
The food is fairly good and reasonably priced . A good family restaurant.

We visit family in Eastbourne five or six times a year and my husband has always wanted eat here (as it looks really attractive from the outside) but we've never got round to it before. We just had a simple lunch but it was lovely. It's a large restaurant divided up into about three rooms from what I could see. Decor is very fresh looking being blue and white, not the usual italian theme. We had focaccia bread to start which was some of the best bread I've had, freshly made and cooked, straight from the oven. It was supposed to be my husband's but I ate half of it! I had lasagna which had some of the lightest pasta I've had and a delicious sauce, couldn't eat it all because of aforesaid bread.... husband had parmigiana mellanzana, a huge helping and very good. We had drinks but I also asked for a glass of tap water and they brought a jug of water with ice and lemon, not come across this for years. According to the website they also own the italian next door La Locanda del duca, which looks more like somewhere you'd go for a more intimate meal, we will try on a future visit.

I visited here last week and had the best night! The food is delicious and staff are very friendly and helpful. We had vegetable soup for starter which was beautiful then had risotto and sea bass for main. The chocolate mousse dessert is gorgeous. I absolutely recommend this restaurant, the food is amazing!! I will definitely be returning next time I am in Eastbourne. Thank you to all staff

Having eaten in Eastbourne for 50 years we often return to a family favourite at Pomodoro and Mozarella with our grand children. If we are entertaining adults we tend to go next door to the sister restaurant "La Locanda del Ducci" Both provide good Italian food and friendly service under the watchful eye of the genial and efficient owner. He even gives 10% discounts for members of Royal Eastbourne Golf club and Eastbourne Bridge club!
Afavorit with many residents of Eastbourne and environs!!

We visited last Friday and the restaurant was heaving,a very good sign on a cold January night. There was six people in our party and everbody's food was superb. The service is first class, and there is always a great atmosphere in this restaurant.Would think it would be an ideal venue for a birthday or celebration meal.

We were recommended this traditional independent Italian restaurant by staff at the nearby Premier Inn during a one-night stopover in Eastbourne and we are so glad that we took up their suggestion. The family-run business is a much better option than the nearby pseudo-Italian brands like Prezzo, Pizza Express and Zizzi; upon arrival (without booking) we received a warm welcome by no less than four staff members. Food service was faultlessly efficient and our three course meals were not only superb but were also excellent value for money. The bill for two of us, including a bottle of wine, came to £50.00 - and we ate a lot!
I'd have no hesitation whatever in recommending the Pomodoro E Mozzarella to others and when we're next in Eastbourne we'll make a return visit. In fact, it's worth heading to the town just to eat at the restaurant!
Well done, and maximum stars all round.

We weren't expecting much from a 3 course menu for £12.95 but the pizzas were actually rather good, very good in fact, and a bargain for the money.
It wasn't very busy when we arrived at 6.30 but by 8.00 the place was nearly full, obviously the locals like it too.

Very decent Italian in the heart of Eastbourne and handy for the tennis. Only downside is that its a little pricey for pasta but I prefer paying a bit more for a family business. Pizzas are sublime.

Really nice varied menu. Authentic Italian food with a homely welcoming atmosphere. If there is something that you want but it's not on the menu.. Just ask. They will do it - if possible! Service is great ; quite surprising for such a big restaurant but this is because there are plenty of attentive staff.
Highly recommend this establishment!

We visit Pomodoro's regularly, as a couple and with the family, and we have never been disappointed. We are always welcomed graciously, looked after by the staff and the food is authentically Italian and cooked to a high standard.
