A well-established and well-patronised Italian restaurant, Pomodoro has built a deserved reputation for consistently good food. While the menu may seem long, there are regular changes and specials. All the to-be-expected pasta and pizza dishes are there, but the fish and meat dishes are carefully chosen and form a select group. Starters and main courses are generously portioned. There is a good and popular children's menu. Pomodoro has a thriving lunchtime as well as pre-theatre and evening business. Its set menus are sensibly structured and priced. Every effort is made to cater for many age groups and this has made the restaurant very popular with students and the younger generation as well as a loyal following from families and the retired. Its staff is loyal. friendly and efficient and the owner keeps a tight control over this and his sister restaurant next door. A great restaurant? No, but it doesn't set out to be but it is a very good one.

Dishes included spaghetti and lasagne both in dishes on their own like islands in the Arctic neither with salad and fish - food was good, the red wine awful nothing to complain about but equally nothing to rave about either.

We went here with friends and really enjoyed the fantastic Italian food. Pomodoro e Mozzarella have a tasty gluten free menu as well as serving pastas, pizzas, meat, fish and vegetarian dishes!
The food we had was very enjoyable; the ambience of the restaurant was vibrant and the staff were helpful and friendly.
Pomodoro e Mozzarella is not far from the centre of Eastbourne and parking in the evening was not a problem. Overall a very enjoyable experience, one I am happy to repeat.

I met up with a couple of friends I hadn't seen for awhile. We went here as both of friends have dietary requirements. My friend phoned up to ask if they could cater for them and they could. Such a warm welcome and the service is excellent. The food is delicious.

Pomodoros is a great restaurant. The range of dishes is huge, the portions are generous and it's not overpriced. Service is prompt and generally, the staff are great (except once when they were rude to and upset my friend because she only ordered chips!). It's great for large parties as there is something on the menu for everyone and you all get served at the same time. The only reason this doesn't get '5 stars' is that it gets very very busy in the evening and it's often very noisy so not a place for a quiet or intimate meal.

Twice in the last 1 year i have taken my family for dinner and on both occasions we felt that the waiter was rude and abrupt. Food was good. Previously we went fairly often but we have decided not to go there again and haven't been for some time and do not plan to either.

My family and i have been coming here for many years. We have never been disappointed. Great food, wonderful welcome and very child-friendly. The owner, Luca, stamps his authority gently over every aspect of the experience. Well worth a visit

A warm welcome, efficient, friendly service, good selection of food on the menu, good gluten free pizzas - all in all a good experience. The ambience is a little cold, due to the excessive lighting - I wouldn't say it's a romantic place to go but have no hesitation in recommending it if you're looking for good value Italian in Eastbourne.

Each time we stay in Eastbourne we have meals at this Restaurant. The Staff are really excellent and have been there for a long time. The Owner Gian Luca is usually there as well !! There are pictures of the tennis players on the walls, who eat there when they are at the Summer Eastbourne tournament !
The food is freshly cooked by a team of excellent Chefs. The set menu is fantastic value with good choices. It is always very busy so booking is advisable especially on fridays & saturdays. Highly recommended!

I have been many times before and have thoroughly enjoyed every time. It is incredibly good value both lunch and evening times and the welcome is second to none.
Highly recommended and definitely a return visit is in order.

Visited this restaurant after a theatre matinee and opted for their 3 course set meal which was excellent value and the food freshly prepared. The service was good as well and by the time we left the restaurant was full. The only downside was that they did not take the Amex card.

We came quit late for lunch .But staff was friendly and inviting . Owner or manager came to say hello and few jokes .There was special menu for lunch. We decided to go for this option .It was good choice of starters and main dishes for very reasonable price .All dishes came very quickly and were nicely decorated .Pizza was very nice and fish was very good cooked .It was our third visit of this restaurant. But it is definitely not last.

On a very busy Saturday evening we were lucky to get a table in this very large restaurant. Water delivered to table on arrival. Delicious mussels followed monkfish in a very tasty sauce served with new potatoes and superbly cooked fresh vegetables. Only downside was the service was too quick; I had only just finished the mussels before next course arrived and I really would have liked a chance to savour the dish. Good choice of wines at reasonable prices. Efficient and pleasant staff, very clean loos.

They have a large menu, not always a good sign. However the quality, price was very good. Service was very good, staff were attentive. drinks a bit pricey, go for a bottle of wine as it works out cheaper. Came away very pleased and full. They do 2 and 3 course menus as well. Good value. Try their sister restaurant next door as I believe its run by the same family. La Locanda Del Duca

Fast friendly service. Popular with a range of ages and groups when we visited on a Friday evening at 19.00. Pizzas are reasonalby priced and the restaurant does not have the noise volumes of the nationwide chains who are always sending out offers

We ate at this restaurant on a Saturday night. It's obviously popular as despite its size (it's huge), it was packed. However the acoustics are terrible and owing to the number of,people it was just far too noisy to hear yourself speak. The lighting was very bright (it was dimmed at about 10.30, and I've no idea why they left it so late to do that) and that, along with the noise, gave the place a canteen feel. The service was slow (we waited 15 minutes after being seated and had to approach the desk and ask for someone to take our drinks order) and the food was acceptable but no more (when paying £22.50 for a fillet steak you expect better). I might try their sister restaurant but would not return to this one.

First and most important; just had a really excellent dinner based on chefs daily recommendations for fresh mussels as a starter and a trio of fish cooked in olive oil and garlic. Simple formula that is a winner if the fish is really fresh and good. My wife equally enjoyed liver and bacon so together will all the usual pasta and pizza there is a wide choice. So where do the bad reviews come from? Seems to be because it is rather like a real Italian small town restaurant, full of families, noisy and happy with waiting staff rushing around chatting and serving. If you want quiet formality this is not for you, if you want good food and a social meal with family and friends in a noisy happy cafe atmosphere then come here and enjoy it!

Another great lunch.

The quality of food and attentive service is always superb.

Menu offers something for everyone; child portions are great value.

Good location with street parking makes this easily accessible.

Look forward to going back on my next trip south

This is one of those restaurants that always seems to have been here and I have been countless times. The great thing ii's always consistent in service and value. It's difficult to beat the £11.95 set menu for choice and there's always a buzz about the place and to me is a real Eastbourne asset.
