I've been a few times now as we have family nearby. Never disappoints. Good selection. Well cooked. Well presented. Minestrone or aubergine starters are almost a meal in themselves. Grilled sardines have that just caught flavour... No real grumble- though the bottled Peroni beer seemed a tad expensive but I don’t usually buy it in a pub so I'm not sure of the hospitality price. Lots of busy staff always on the go - that tells you something is good about it. Went last a Saturday evening and we remarked 'recession-what recession?'The place was packed to the gunwales and the function room downstairs seemed to be at capacity. The very small number of negative comments could reflect a periodic 'slip' but I'm not so sure about that.If I had never been before I'd still be likely to try it because of the very high proportion of positive reviews.

Very buzzy vibrant restaurant. Lots to choose from on the menu and the food was lovely. Waiters helpful and happy to advise if you want something different.
Came here some years ago, it was good then and remains so. I was initially afraid it would be a bit like a Pizza express (and nothing wrong with those) but this restaurant is really so authentic you could be sitting in the sunshine of Italy as you enjoy your pre meal Prosecco! Can highly recommend.

The restaurant was recommended by the hotel I stayed in and I'm glad that after taking a look around I decided to eat here. A varied menu from which chose off the set meal deal.

This is our favourite Italian restaurant when visiting Eastbourne. You can always rely on the quality of the food and we have always found the servers friendly even when they are very busy. The menu is varied and we have enjoyed every dish we have tried.

Found this restaurant by looking at TripAdvisor and we weren't disappointed.
We've been used to very good Italian restaurants where we used to live in Germany but have struggled to find a comparable one in the UK. Our search is now over.
Everything is really good from the welcome you get when you first arrive to the friendly "ariverderchi" (?) from the owner when you leave.
We enjoyed our first lunchtime meal here so much we went back the next day and had lunch again. We went for the 2-course lunchtime special both times and the choice was very good as was the quality. The first time we had sea bass and the fish was cooked beautifully. My only criticism was that it would have been nice to have had a crispy skin on the fish but apart from the that the food and the cooking of it was excellent. On our second visit I went for a pizza and was in two minds whether to order it or not as I like them thin & crispy and it's not often you get them like that in the UK. Again, no disappointment. The pizza was thin, crispy and very fresh, not to mention, quite large. I would have liked a green salad to go with it but, to be honest, I didn't ask the waiter if it was possible to do one for me. I suspect however it would have been possible.
All in all a great place to eat and if you're a student they have special lunchtime deals too if you can show your student card.

We went for a family meal. The food was well presented and tasted gorgeous. I had my daughter who is 3 with me, the staff brought over some colouring for her to do. She was very happy while waiting for dinner. The wait was very quick considering our table was 10 people. Prices are very good. Would definitely be coming back and would recommend.

I don't use those words lightly........I have been using this restaurant for the last twelve years and would say that I have visited it over one hundred times during that period. On no occasiion have I ever had any reason to complain about anything and my meal choices vary from just a Pizza or one of their fantastic 3 course set meals. Not only does it represent very good value, it also represents fine dishes and superb choice. All of the staff are extremely attentive and cheerful, in fact one immediately gets the impression that they are a super team. Some of the staff have been there ever since I started going and you can always rely on a cheery greeting/
The atmosphere in this restaurant is as you would expect, noisy with the sound of people enjoying themselves together with the usual bustle of a busy establishment. I have lost count of the number of times I havbe recommended Pomodoro to friends and colleagues and I can say that on no occasion have any of them come back to me with any criticisms.

Recommended to visit the Pomodoro e Mozzarella restaurant we were delighted. On entering this restaurant you could have been in Italy with the hustle and bustle and noise associated with popular restaurants. Our reception was warm and welcoming and that was just the beginning, the staff were extremely busy and yet attentive and really pleasant and the food was gorgeous.
Pizzas were a speciality with a fabulous pizza oven but then all the food was superb. The restaurant would suit everyone, old young and families. Very reasonably priced. So good we returned the next night.

We were visiting Eastbourne to attend a funeral and stayed overnight at a B&B with relatives of the deceased who had had to spend a lot of time in Eastbourne from their Canadian home over the last 6 years.
They said they had been recommended to this restaurant by the B&B owners on their first visit, and had been regular repeat visitors.
It was mid week, but as there were to be seven diners, we booked. Pleased we did, as at 7pm it was heaving. They had 3 large parties of 8-10.
The menu is quite extensive but they do two fixed price menus, the cheaper being £12 for 3 courses, £10 for 2. Four starters, around ten mains (mainly pizza and pasta, but the branzino for instance, was excellent) and four desserts.
Service was most efficient and everyone who served us was pleasant.
So, good food, good service and really good value, which continued with decent wines starting at around £13, makes it a must visit in Eastbourne

My wife and I took our nephew on one of the busiest evenings we had seen in this excellent restaurant. We ordered quite expecting a wait but to our surprise, Pedro our waiter appeared after about 10 minutes with our order. Fantastic food and a brilliant service! Well done Pomodoro!

We had some lovely food here, staff were a bit complicated, too many people not in the same uniform, it felt a bit unorganised.
Food arrived quickly and was very good.
Menu was massive, unfortunately no meat balls!

We have visited Pomodoro many times and have always found a warm welcome by friendly, knowledgeable, accommodating staff. The food is always freshly prepared, of high quality and at a reasonable price (the calzone is the best ever)((with chilies)) . Pomodoro is always top of our list for family occasions including the last 4 new years day gatherings with 14 guests.
We have eaten in many Eastbourne establishments but really can't recommend Pomodoro highly enough, undoubtedly the best family restaurant in Eastbourne.

We went for the 3 course menu with several choices for starter, main and dessert and all the choices we selected were very good. Would definitely visit the restaurant again if in the area. The restaurant was packed when we went on a Monday evening so I would book to avoid disappointment.
