Spur of the moment to book tickets to see this same day show and we went through to Eastbourne to the Royal Hippodrome Theatre, never having visited this place before. What a friendly woman on duty who doubled up as a host in the evening and here’s a huge factor in our enjoyment of the night-the staff! Such friendly fun-loving people and all volunteers demonstrating their commitment to this gorgeous traditional theatre. As 6’ tall customers the seating was fine on this very busy evening and the show itself was excellent though at times the volume wasn’t high enough when “Dusty” sang though not a criticism of her singing which was sublime hitting some smokey deep notes at times. Also a scene with her partner Claire pointing what appeared to be a remote control at a big screen to silence it-really,in the sixties/early seventies?! I doubt they’d been introduced at that time. But overall a great production with a great band and small cast covering the decades and the changing political scene for race and sexual orientation equalities.Wish it was touring to see all over again!🏳️‍🌈

Four very talented young men who did a brilliant job of tellin the Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons story through song. The seats were great, plenty of leg room

Watched Cinderella today. Was really fantastic. My little girl loved every bit of it. It was really lovely how Cinderella and the prince came out at the end of the show and had there picture taken with the children.

Want to the Hippodrome to watch the Wizard of Oz. The theatre needs some tlc on the outside and in the toilets. However, the seats were comfy and there was enough space for leg room for me (I'm 5ft 10) and you're not squashed in. We sat in the stalls in K9 and K10 and had a great view, The theatre is rather small compared to other theatres, which is great because it gives the show an intimate feel.

Although the review should be purely for the theatre, I have to say the show by AP theatre productions was fantastic, the actors were amazing and the show had enough adult humour yet was still appropriate for children. The show was pure feel good fun and was enough to get this middle age cynic's toe tapping. I have to say I really did love the show and thought the theatre itself was a good space.

My only gripe would be there was a French man who sat on our row and was translating the show all the way through to his daughter, did detract as you could hear him talking in the background throughout the show. I feel that staff should have addressed this.

Lovely venue and gorgeous inside. Very friendly staff and great atmosphere. Location is the only thing to let this place down but that can't really be helped.

Classic old school theatre. Lucky to still have such little pockets of history. Very helpful staff who were volunteers. Clean toilets and a reasonable price bar.
