Lovely old theatre puts on some good shows. Needs patronage. Do not let this theatre go into decline.

Great theatre show with the original script and songs, and a little contemporary jokes for laughs.
Really enjoyed it.
The Hippodrome volunteer staff were really friendly and professional, advised with seating, reasonably priced snacks.
Great experience for a reasonable price.

I've been to a few shows here recently and it's a lovely venue although looking a little tired. Lovely bar, clean facilities and nothing is over priced.

staff were friendly and helpful. The show was an amateur production, but of such a good enough quality that we only knew for sure by checking the website later. The theatre is old, but clearly loved. It was and enjoyable evening. My sense was that the cast and audience were equally having fun.

Good show. The compare especially worked his socks off and some of the acts had us laughing out loud. The kids were cute and the singing was a higher standard than you would expect from a local show. The theatre was small enough to feel intimate and run by cheerful volunteers.

We visited the Right Royal Variety Performance and were thoroughly entertained by the high standard of the performance. Good singing, dancing and light-hearted comedy. Just right for traditional seaside entertainment.

Very entertaining evening listening to Danny Baker’s amusing anecdotes and interesting “life” stories. Although the show was over three hours long, it did not seem like it and we could have happily carried on listening. We look forward to the next instalment!
The Royal Hippodrome Theatre, which is manned by very welcoming and helpful volunteers, is unfortunately a little run down and in need of some attention but, with its very varied entertainment programme throughout the year, it is still well worth a visit.
