Been here a couple of times. Although small this lovely old theatre has everything a larger theatre would. Always warm and comfortable seats. Refreshments, snacks and even a bar. ice cream at the intervals is very popular and lovely to see tradition kept.

Great show! My niece loved it. She doesn't usually sit down for long periods of time, but she was glued to this and didn't move once! Also entertaining for adults too, was very funny!

A very enjoyable evening spent by my wife and I listening to The Dubliners tribute band in this intimate Victorian Theatre. It still has the charm and intimacy that no doubt made it a popular venue in Victorian times.
We were four rows back from the stage, which because there is only leg room space and no walk through between the front row and the stage, placed us closer to the stage than is usual in most more modern theatres.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Occasional guided tours of the theatre occur during the year as part of walking tours ( East of the pier ) This gives access to the ' back stage ' and private box stairways.

This is the 3rd Easter panto we have been to at the theatre. This one was one of the best. Do not know what that guy who gave a 2 is thinking about!! My 7 year old did not stop laughing at the crabs - that bit with the film titles - hilarious. Yes it's full of innuendo - but all pantomimes are! Thought the sea witch was fabulous - best villain ever seen in a panto. Can't wait until Alice in wonderland next Easter!! Well done RHT hope you keep going against the odds

My children really enjoyed this show and the staff at the Royal Hippodrome were really friendly. I've never been to this theatre before and inside was much nicer than I had thought it would be. I would definitely visit again.

This was my first visit to the Royal Hippodrome Theatre in Eastbourne and also my children's first to a theatre. I have two children aged 6 and 3 and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We were sat up in the dress circle and I was a bit worried they may not be able to see the stage. But the view was great - plus booster seats were offered which made it even better. Would definitely return.

Lovely old theatre but needs serious investment. Run mainly by volunteers who are very welcoming. However I feel that unless funds can be raised the venue will not have a long term future which would be very upsetting

More than 3 hours passed far too quickly with hilarious anecdotes, I didn't want the evening to end.
Roll on the next instalment of his life. The world seems a better place when described by Danny Baker .

Lovely twee theatre. Volunteer staff were wonderfully welcoming and friendly.
If you would like a pre-show drink / meal then the Marine pub is close by and serves good pub food in a relaxed envoronment

We enjoyed every minute of it. Danny was extremely entertaining. The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The inside of the building was fine and the seating was authentic and atmospheric. The outside of the building looked very run down.

We've seen a couple of shows at the Hippodrome, both of them really excellent. The theatre is a gem of a building which has retained all of it's character. It's well-staffed and all of the staff are really friendly and helpful. It's close to the seafront and surrounded by lots of places to eat, so part of the recipe for a great night out.

Danny was brilliant enough but when he spoke of the history of the theatre, it brought it all home. Great atmosphere, comfy chairs and a nice drink or two in our seats. Fantastic volunteers run the place and they obviously care. We will be back.

Listened to Danny for years enjoyed every minute of the show. Had my disabled son in law with me. We couldn't fault the theatre at all.

I visited the Royal Hippodrome Theatre in Eastbourne for the first time last night to see Danny Baker. The show and the atmosphere were both brilliant, but the Hippodrome is sadly in need of funding for a facelift. The volunteers did a fine job and clearly are proud of Eastbourne's beautiful old theatre, but it has a 'charity shop' aroma about it, I assume from the old upholstery and damp.
The theatre was much smaller than I imagined, with an impressive ceiling and I'm sure was once a very beautiful building in its heyday. Alas this beauty has faded but is too precious for the scrap heap so the powers that be must support Eastbourne's heritage and fund a facelift before it's too late to save.
