Drawn in by the short attractive menu. Happily my intuition was correct. Friendly attentive staff and a relaxed vibe. Portions should sartistry the gluttonous, but can't disguise the quality of the cooking. The people in the kitchen know what they are doing. This won't be number 73 on tripadvisor for long!

Always one to try new restaurants in the local area. I was extremely satisfied after leaving this restaurant. On arrival, I was greeted at sat down by friendly front of house staff. We didn’t book but the restaurant was busy. Good array of options on the menu and really great to see references to local suppliers. Food was well presented and tasted great. Pricing was excellent for the service and quality of food. Will definitely return.

We were looking for a dessert at the end of a long day and passed by Skylark. It looked nice, so we gave it a chance.
The cake (chocolate tart) was beautiful and delicious. My better half loved her affogato.
All in all it was a lovely experience. We'll come back for a proper meal next time in Eastbourne.

I visit Eastbourne roughly once a month and I've began to notice some lovely new restaurants on Grove Road. Skylark looked lovely from the outside and the menu sounded good. It's always nice to see a restaurant offer a different menu each day because they are utilising fresh, local produce.
I had the oven baked cod on pea and spinach risotto which was fresh and tasted great! Lovely big fresh fillet of cod and the risotto wasn't stodgy.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly. Will definitely visit here again and recommend to friends!

It was my first visit to the newly opened Skylark last night but it certainly won’t be my last! I had duck breast (perfectly cooked) and the seaside sundae for desert, I also had little samples from my friends, a lovely potato gratin and a spatchcock chicken. The service was welcoming and helpful without being intrusive and the atmosphere was buzzy. The owners have made the most of the space with lovely art work adorning the walls and the lighting was perfect. I will be recommending this restaurant to all my family and friends. At last a great restaurant in Eastbourne!

Having been in here a couple of times for Coffee I thought I would give the food a try. Glad I did as it was delicious. The Lamb Burger was a joy to behold. A special mention goes out to Bun they use for this. Usually at other places Ive been to they are cheap and just fall apart but not the case here. All in all cant fault I will be back soon.

We visited the Skylark for lunch on a damp Sunday in April, but the warm welcome we received easily compensated for the wet and windy weather outside.
There's great artwork on the walls, comfortable tables and chairs (all importantly not too crammed together) and friendly and attentive service (without being intrusive). Our party of three enjoyed a different dish each: one had the lamb burger, another the fishcakes and finally the vegetable tart. All were presented with finesse and cooked beautifully. The desserts also were a triumph - two Seaside sundaes and a chocolate torte (so scrummy)! Even the coffee was excellent!
The owners and staff clearly care about giving diners a great experience!

Took my wife here for her birthday on Saturday night. I have a rare allergy to some additives found in processed food, so I’m normally told when out to dinner by the chef what I can & cant eat. I can’t tell you how exciting it was for me to get in touch with these guys before the meal to be told “don’t worry, not a problem we cook from scratch” this is EXTREMELY rare these days to find food that is properly cooked like it should be. We were welcomed with warm smiles & felt specialty’s moment we walked in. Starters were Crayfish & rice noodle salad & Feta mashed pea & minted crostini ...outstanding !!! Main was spatchcock poussin & cod fillet. The flavours were gorgeous & this coupled with a very nice rose wine perfected the whole meal. Pudding was equally as good !! not forgetting to mention the cocktails that are made with love ...there is absolutely nothing not to love about this place. Anyone that puts this much effort to stand out from the crowd with service, food, atmosphere & ensuring you have the best evening deserves to succeed & they will that’s for sure. Thanks for a brilliant night see you again very very soon

My wife wanted to take me out for lunch for my Birthday. The recently opened Skylark had been recommended to us, so we booked a table. From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, the experience was outstanding (and we're pretty (very) fussy !). Our Starters were exceptional. We then had Sirloin Steak, which was perfectly cooked and absolutely delicious. In today's hyper-critical world, it's unusual to find a restaurant which exceeds one's expectations, but Skylark smashed it. Fabulous, and the Chef and his Partner deserve every success. Go there and you won't be disappointed. Great discovery, great food and great value ! Don't miss it.

This is a relatively new cafe/restaurant in one of the trendy areas of Eastbourne. Of rustic decor, light and airy, it is welcoming with staff who are genuinely helpful and not pretentious. Coffees are good and with an unusual, but pleasant, slightly bitter flavour. The Nutella pancake stack with compote of berries was certainly filling but a little bland. The pancakes themselves could do with more moistness. There were lots of people there having breakfast and I am sure Skylark will do well. The prices are reasonable and a lot of the produce seems to be local. I shall return.

Skylark hasn't been open very long but I'm sure it's going to be very popular. We visited at the weekend for brunch and we'll definitely be back. There us a good selection of teas coffees and soft drinks. We were very impressed with the little gadget that prevents tea leaves escaping from the tea pot. We both had baked eggs with ham and mushrooms - really tasty!
The service is friendly and we did not feel in the slightest bit hurried. We're looking forward to our next visit to Skylark.

We were excited to visit skylark and weren’t disappointed. The food was fresh and beautifully cooked and presented. The starters, mains and amazing desserts were all absolutely delicious. The service was very attentive making sure we had everything we needed and the staff were incredibly friendly and made you feel very welcome. The decor is clean and fresh and displays beautiful art work on the walls.
We had a wonderful lunch and will definitely return soon. I would definitely recommend for any occasion. It’s a lovely place to pop into for a coffee and cake, lunch or dinner, or for a drink after work. Can’t wait to come back for another visit.

We started with a glass each of the house sparkling wine, Pignoletto, so much nicer than Prosecco! I had the Cajun chicken burger, which was delicious, and my friends both had the sirloin steak, which they both said was cooked to perfection. I had the homemade sticky toffee pudding for dessert, and I was not disappointed, it was deliciously rich and indulgent, the perfect end to a lovely meal. Could not recommend Skylark highly enough, we will definitely be back!

I loved the tasteful decor, with poems about skylarks and beautiful paintings of the Downs. The staff were relaxed and welcoming, and the food was superb. I can not recommend this restaurant highly enough!

Only open a couple of months but already head and shoulders above most of the very average options in Eastbourne. We went for dinner on a quiet Friday night - because of the recent snow no doubt - service very friendly and food thoughtful & fresh, wine list extensive and we will definitely be going back. Also looking forward to trying out the breakfast menu soon too - highly recommended!

I heard about Skylark via somebody I know likes good food.It was fabulous. Lunch was great, freshly cooked, well cooked and friendly service. Always good to support the local independents and in this case cannot recommend them highly enough. Support them and keep them busy! looking forward to another trip soon.

For some reason 'modern British restaurants' have avoided Eastbourne. Glad to be able to say that finally, Skylark has changed all that. Starters of pulled pork and black pudding croquetas and salt and pepper squid were perfectly executed. Mains of confit pork belly; 28day aged rump steak and the catch of the day all served with perfect side dishes, were just as good. We couldn’t all manage dessert but the Espresso Martini was a fabulous way to end the meal! The cooking is excellent and the service - warm, friendly and attentive without being intrusive. Our second visit was just as enjoyable as the first and we are already looking forward to a third.

Saw it when I walked past one day and thought 'that looks nice'.
Went to try hot drinks this time. Lovely atmosphere, relaxing decor and attentive service. Drinks were tasty. Looks like they care about the produce that they use. Looking forward to going back for food.

Heard about this new restaurant and was excited to see what they had to offer. It was lunchtime and we were starving so me and my partner both opted for the chicken burger. It was cooked really well and had some really nice flavours. It came with salad and fries which were lovely. We loved lunch so much we came back a few days later for breakfast which was so so good!! The coffee was nice and is roasted locally I believe? They were very accommodating to us as we have an almost 2 year old so thank you very much! Would definitely recommend and we will be back.

The wine was excellent along with the dessert wine. Will definitely be going back and I hope the rest of Eastbourne supports you. Thank you.
