Went to Skylark in Little Chelsea, Eastbourne for lunch today after seeing it had been shortlisted for the restaurant awards.

Excellent food and cater for all dietary needs if requested.

The main meal and dessert I could not fault! Beautifully presented and fabulous taste. Highly recommend.

It was nice to also see good quality local produce being used and also nutritial options available!

I believe they also have a breakfast menu. I will be returning to try this.

Went in yesterday with the intention of getting some food but because the kitchen was closed we were unable to sample the menu. We settled for the hot chocolate and whilst good would have been great to eat too.

The cafe allows dogs during the daytime but not in the evenings. I think we had fun even misty the dog we brought in, We will be back with the hope that we can try your food.

Amazing staff too, very welcoming and warm. We'll be back for sure and re-review when we do :)

I visited last week and loved it. Excellent service, warm atmosphere and delicious food and coffee. No need for a long review as it's simply the best.
I had the beetroot & goats cheese salad - absolutely delicious. Service as friendly as the Skylark is rare to see these days - thanks so much - I will defintiely be back.

Love coming to the Skylark. Not locals but come out of our way for their delicious brunch . If you haven’t tried ‘deans’ sausages (the butcher over the road) then you’re missing out . The girls are very friendly & attentive , the food I can’t fault . Enjoy

my friend told me he had the best ever breakfast here so i decided to treat my wife and see what the fuss was all about. so lets just cut to the chase and start with positives: friendly staff- breakfast good quality- and another bonus point for locally sourced products... but unfortunately thats all i can say positive. negatives: why do restaurants insist on using tables the size of school desks?? once the tea mug arrived there litteraly is no space for anything else, and once your plates arrives you cant move,is it so difficult to have larger tables/, they do have a couple of larger ones but as it only two of us we didnt think it was fair as they might have a larger group arrive. 2 full breakfast and a mug of tea for two came to just under £23,ouch!!!now when i pay that price i expect a certain service, would have been nice to have been asked, what type of bread do you like ? or how would you like your eggs done? or how would you like your bacon?how was your breakfast? but it seems that you have no choice, what they serve is what you get,its white bread and thats it. if theres two adults and they ask for ketchup or brown sauce then dont just bring me a tiny saucer with about two teaspoon of sauce,if im paying top price i want more. £23 is quite a lot for a breakfast so if you think that im being fussy then thats why...if id of paid less then i wouldnt be scrutinising it so much. id expect to pay that price somewhere like the IVY in brighton and its worth every penny,so im afraid i just cant give it more than 3 stars, shame because the food was good but like i said before, when you pay top money you expect more.

Went here last night with friends after seeing amazing pictures and reviews.
The service was good with ok atmosphere. The food was very well presented however the food was very bland and had no flavour at all. The only thing that had and flavour whatsoever was the bread that was sourced from the poppyseed. Which is a fantastic Bakery.

We booked a table for two on a Friday evening, and we were the first diners of the evening. The restaurant steadily filled up. We had the crab pate as a starter with extra bread so that we could make it a sharing starter. There were two veg main courses, so we ordered those and shared. Similarly, we shared a lemon meringue sundae for pudding. All the food was marvellous, the service was great, and the prices were fair. All in all a great meal, with excellent friendly service. We will be recommending to our friends!

I dined here with my brother several weeks ago and have found the time only now to leave a review because I had such a nice experience. This face was chosen due to its shining rating on Tripadvisor and we walked the short distance from Eastbourne station to ths fine establishment. The decor was refined and they serve a small but high quality menu. I ordered a stew and it was full of flavour and terrifically hearty. The presentation of the dishes were excellent and the staff friendly and professional.

16 Aug Skylark Eastbourne. Visited on a Friday evening for dinner and glad we booked as the restaurant was full. We were delighted to find a good range of cocktails on the menu so we each enjoyed one while we considered the menu, which is short and full of local and seasonal ingredients. We both found it very easy to find dishes we'd like and found all the food to be incredibly high quality and exceptionally well prepared. The wine list has some excellent local and UK labels and we thoroughly enjoyed our choice. Service was excellent with all staff being lovely & helpful. We chatted to the lady co-owner and were interested to learn how the business was formed. They definitely have the ideal pairing of skills to to run a great restaurant. I'd very highly recommend the restaurant and will definitely return. Only one tiny niggle: I didn't find the seating comfortable. Some slightly larger / more padded seating would be a great upgrade please!

Had a very nice breakfast. All the normal bits and decent sausages. Coffee came with a glass of tap water, didnt even have to ask. If you go down to the loo, youll see a swanky stainless steel kithen with people in there that call each other chef! Top spot.

My first visit to the restaurant but not my last. A minimalist setting, swift service from attentive staff. The menu was small but it had enough choices to please most appetites - gluten free, vegetarian, fish and meat options.

What a beautiful place, all wooden floors and simple tables. Very lovely waitresses, buzzing around making sure that everybody was happy and that we wanted for nothing. Food was really delicious, very generous portions and at a very reasonable price. It was a gorgeous evening, well done Skylark.

Had a wonderful meal at Skylark last night - beautiful food (the squid was incredible, as were the chorizo bonbons that came with my bream), lovely service from a great team of staff, and a lovely atmosphere. Can’t recommend this place enough, just sad I’m not a local - will have to visit my Eastbourne family again soon! Thanks Skylark, absolutely fab.

We were staying at the other side of Eastbourne and needed to walk 40 min to reach this wonderfull restaurant. But it was really worth the walk. We had a superb 3-courses meal, excellent wine and very friendly staff for a more than reasonable price. A pitty that we didn't stay longer in this town. Otherwise we would have returned to taste the rest of the menu. Great experience !!

After getting married at Eastbourne Town Hall we had our wedding meal at Skylark with 19 of our close family and friends. Erina and her team were great in both the communication prior to the event and on the night. The menu had previously been agreed and was just as delicious as it had sounded. With three options for starter, mains and desserts plus a child’s menu, everyone had something to choose from. On the night the tables had been decorated in a simple and elegant manner. The fish and meat options were amazing and dessert was divine. Everyone had such a lovely time including the young ones who were given some boxes and coloring to play with. I would recommend Skylark for a wedding or event as it was fresh, simple and everything I wanted. Thank you Erina and your team x

We were met with a warm friendly welcome. Our group of five started with bottle of excellent dry Spanish Macabeo wine. Our main course orders were: Fish board - a good selection, Roast Lamb with vegetables and roast potatoes, very tasty, Greek Salad, delicious and Avocado and eggs on brown bread also very tasty. We were to full to avail of the various cakes on offer, but will definitely go back again to sample these. Another great independent cafe/restaurant for Eastbourne - keep up the good work.

Found this place after looking online for somewhere for brunch. It didn’t disappoint. We had the full English and the Avocado and Eggs (with added Halloumi) and it was yummy. Coffee is good quality. I would have preferred some freshly squeezed orange juice but what they stock comes in a small bottle and is good enough. It’s a lovely cafe, tastefully decorated, helpful and friendly staff and the food is as good as it sounds on the menu.
