Watching other people messing about in boats, taking a stroll around the harbour and seeing vessels negotiating the locks (not always shipshape and Bristol fashion) and then eating out at an excellent variety of eateries. What's not to like?

Sun is shining so came for lunch at the Ganges and a walk around the marina.
Lots of boat activity and fish to see to keep our daughter entertained.

It's a beautiful place for a walk with family or friends or babies, but the stares you get from passers-by are unbelievable it makes you feel alienated. Yes I am Asian but that is no reason to feel secluded.

We love watching the boats come and go in this marina. The locks are interesting and the whole place very pretty.I think it's a shame that there is no hotel here. We would love to spend a weekend there.

Many restaurants with lovely views over the marina and the many boats moored there, very busy the Sunday we were there, seems to be “the” place to eat. Nice setting if you want somewhere to eat with a nice view.

We walked from our hotel to Sovereign Harbour. As you turn a corner suddenly it is there. Boats, bridges and restaurants everywhere. Bridges and locks. We watched a lock opening and we were fascinated by it. The small bridges going up were fun to watch. The tide was out and we saw2 x seals basking on the sand. What an experience.

Yes, it's a Marina with boats, water etc - but it has a good atmosphere!
Bustling with tourists, excellent eateries, cinema and shops, it's quite cosmopolitan for Eastbourne (no disrespect I love here!)
Well worth a visit.

Many restaurants to choose from with a pretty harbour to look at. You can also if you wish, take a walk around the harbour and have a coffee, glass of wine or a fresh fish dinner.

Modern Marina with lots of apartments. Pleasant enough place to stroll through on a nice day and look at the boats, but we could find nothing, not even a cafe, to keep us there or entice us back.

We caught the little train that runs from Eastbourne to Sovereign Harbour. It was a very hot day and the small selection of cafes were crowded. We had coffee at the largest one and, after a walk around the harbour, returned for lunch. Nothing special and the place seemed very over-rated. Signposting was abysmal; we weren’t sure where to go. Two hours was more than enough.

Sovereign harbour really a lovely place for a meal and nice to either sit and relax or walk about .We were told about shops there but if we had not asked a lady if she new were they were we would not have found them, there were no signs anywhere ,this happened to a couple who was staying in our hotel (so signs needed) but this was the only fault well worth a visit.

Regular visitors at least twice a year! Not much really changes apart from the weather. It's a fair old walk all around the marina, & not totally straightforward - some gated zones. Ok if you can appreciate the boats architecture & general scenery. Not much for children. Most of the bars / eateries are found in the one corner - fortunately close to the retail park & free parking. On a summers day it can be tricky getting seating, & more difficult for large groups. Plenty of choices; perhaps a bit pricey, but sitting alongside the marina with great views compensates.

Thought this would be an extremely expensive place to eat but was pleasantly surprised at prices. Whilst didn't have an evening meal, the breakfast at the Harvester was OK.

Went on the little boat trip around the harbour , most enjoyable , it was a gorgeous day , the man in charge is an ex navy man and gives you lots of interesting snippets of information as you sail round the harbour for around half hour . The only downside was the seating having a slightly raised nail which caught and ripped my dress , but otherwise a very enjoyable trip and lovely for children

Nice enough place to wander on a sunny day whilst watching the boating fraternity at work and play. There are only a few shops, but some decent cafes and restaurants to stop at and it makes a change from Eastbourne itself.

We often visit here some times just for a walk. Beautiful boots and scenes of the harbor. Some good restaurants I.E simply Italian is lovely. And fairly priced with friendly staff. The green house is great for drinks and live bands of a evening. Harvester is OK if you like that sort of thing. Expensive for not great food.

We visited the Sovereign Harbour Marina on a beautiful, sunny afternoon which certainly helps the atmosphere, with views of the working harbour, and a number of places to sit and relax, enjoy a coffee and take in the views. We followed this with a walk to the lock and then choose one of a number of restaurants to enjoy an early evening meal. if we had wanted there was the possibility to take a cruise around the harbour or book a trip to Beachy Head. Well worth a visit to wile away an hour or three

This is a lovely harbour to walk around, look at the boats or just sit and people watch. There are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes. You can also take a short boat ride where you will be given a tour of the harbour and learn all about the history.

If you want a great choice of food all in one place then this is it, busy most of the time, but a great setting to relax and chill.
