Yes i know it's a Marina and, I suppose if you like boats it's great. If you want a little "ambiance" - it generally loses out!
It has a Harvester Pub/Diner and a number of Thai/Itallian etc eateries, a multi plex cinema and a "bog standard" retail park.

Good day out. Take a trip around the harbour by boat and see all the expensive boats and houses. Kids loved watching the boats in & out of the harbour. Plenty of choices to eat main meals or snacks. Shops and large Asda and if you have time also a cinema on site. well worth a visit

A huge array of eateries from Thai to good old Harvester. Very pretty at night too but be prepared to wait a while. These restaurants can be very busy.

We visited the marina and had a pleasant walk around as boats were coming and going. This means footbridges are constantly being raised so don't be in a rush! The area was clean, people pleasant and we enjoyed the facilities at the marina where we had coffees and snacks. We weren't rushed when we'd finished and enjoyed spending time watching the boats and just resting.

Plenty of places to eat at, would recommend the Harvester in particular. Nice walk round harbour, parking is free apart from Regatta weekend.

I went to Eastbourne for the RNLI Regatta, what a fanstastic weekend we had. "Music, fun races, food & Drink, along with stalls and Fun Fair for all the family". All in support of the RNLI, a brilliant service offered to thousands all year through.

There is loads to see and do here. The restaurants are clustered around the harbour side and there is something for everyone from fish & chips to Indian and a good Harvester. One of the best gift shops I have ever browsed around is right on the harbour side. Walk to the beach past the sea locks where the Martello tower is being revamped. If you come from Eastbourne we would recommend taking the Dotto Train one way and walking back along the front. Masses of free parking though with huge Asda and lots of other good shops.

Got to say the food around this marinia is great - forget Frankie and bennies you get them everywhere - go around and check out the great foods on at Pablos or the others in the marinia itself. The waterfront has lots to see with kids such as jelly fish or large fish - as well as a nice tour boat for the kids at 4 pounds for adults it's inexpensive and a fun way to look at the expensive boats and speak to the owners.

Nice trip to marina along the beach, no tourists, nice quite place to watch the boats, (in the evening) how they come to/from the sea.
Jealousy that any of these boats does not belong to me :)

Nice location for sightseeing (Brighton, Lewes, open gardens, National Trust properties etc. close) walking (Beachy Head, Seven Sisters South Downs close) and relaxing with good harbour views (our rental house had a patio overlooking the marina!). Nice selection of restaurants on the complex and Asda superstore/multiplex cinema a short walk away. Lovely mix of architecture and nicely planned, so great short strolls around the complex (eg in evening). About 3 miles from the centre of Eastbourne, but pathway all the way and a bustrain if you feeel lazy! Eastbourne pier great! Lack of a traditional pub and more shops at Soverign Harbour itself only negative (the only gift shop there is is excellent though!).

Located to the East of Eastbourne and fronting on to the start of Pevensey Bay you will find the very modern Sovereign Harbour complex, with its huge marina and continental style waterfornt cafe/restaurant area.
There is lots of free parking either in the adjacent "Crumbles Retail Park", or in "The Waterfront" visitors car park, directly in front of the yacht club.
The many "Waterfront" restaurants, as of 2010, include Pablos (Mediteranean), Simply Italian (Italian), Thai Marina (Thai), Ganges (Indian), Water Dragon (Oriental) and Harvester Pub (English). These are complemented by a fish & chip takeaway, coffee shop/ice cream parlour, a wine bar and an upstairs garden bar.
Also at the "Waterfont" area are a few gift shops and a pontoon where you can get a seasonal tour boat around the extensive harbour network. At the same pontoon is a fast rib boat " Sussex Voyages", offering various trips through the locks and out to sea (weather permitting).
The entire marina complex is quite vast and comprises of numerous modern houses/apartments, several separate harbour areas and interconnecting "Venice" style channels with lift bridges. There are many hundreds of boats to be seen moored here, from small sailing boats, up to very large motor cruisers. The marina is also home to a small fishing fleet.
Between the marina and the main road (A259) is a large retail park known as "The Crumbles". This has a very large 24hour supermarket and many other large retailers as well as a multi screen cinema and health club.
All in all an excellent place to visit, especially on a warm sunny day, when you can sit outside and have a drink or a meal and watch the boats coming and going.
