We went with the grandchildren who had visited before. A really enjoyable visit with plenty of practical things to do.
An emphasis on astronomy but many other topics related to physics.
Very good facilities and all in all well worth a visit

We assumed that it would just be a quick visit here. However the three year old really seemed to enjoy himself and could have stayed for longer playing in the water table.

Whilst housesitting through Trustedhousesitters.com in Bodle Street Green we visited the Observatory,
We had a lovely four hours there and it is very interesting and reasonable. The staff were informative and made you feel welcome.
There were a few school trips there when we went and plenty for the children to do, so a great place and good day out for families.p with children.

I have frequently sent guests to the Science Centre but hadn't visited myself for years. This weekend, I had family with young children visiting from the States and decided to accompany them. What a great place to visit - for all ages. The adults were as fascinated and intrigued as the children! With so many exhibits, there was something for everyone and of course, the children loved the fact that it was so interactive. The range of items indoors was extremely broad and there was also plenty of fun to be had outside. We probably could have spent much longer than we did and still wouldn't have seen everything there was to see.

My granddaughter really enjoyed exploring all that is on offer to keep the children amused at the Science Centre. Plenty to keep her occupied and lots of space to enjoy.

We wish we had had more than an hour to spend here as there was so much to see. Seeing the telescopes was pretty amazing and the amount and type of information was fascinating. The guy who took our entrance fee came out to talk to us about the huge Pyrex mirror base displayed by the entrance and he was very friendly and knowledgable with a genuine love of the subject. The exhibits were brilliant for children but there were some gems for adults too. The cafe had a good range of food and the home made tomato soup and the space themed chocolate cake was lovely. A really good half day out.

This place tops the science museum interns of hands on activities for everyone. We love that there’s so much to experiment and play with indoors AND outdoors. We took our son and some of his friends for his birthday and many of them have returned with their own families cos they enjoyed it so much.

Great places for a few hours for the aficionado or casual visitor. Get there early so you can enable your inner child by playing in the science hub - who doesn't like pushing buttons? The history of the centre is well presented. We also attended a free presentation which was superb . Very exciting to see the roof of the dome open. Cafe offers some light snacks . Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic for kids, our 4 year old loved it but there will be much more to learn there when he's a bit older. Tonnes of well designed and thought provoking interactive exhibits. Speaking as a primary school teacher, this is genuinely one of the best educational places I've visited and in many respects better than the Science Museum in London. Good balance between indoors and outdoors too. The whole place is small and self contained, perfect for a day with showers forecast as you can just pop in and out as you please. Cannot recommend it highly enough, we will definitely be returning!

As a child i rember the place being realy good for a science fare they held there, after going to day it looks like the place has realy gon down hill, overflowing bins, toilet that abasloutly reek and alot of the interactive exibits not being mantaind with a lot not workings and mising parts, on your walk from the carpark field to the entrance watch out for the ankle braker holes and try not to trip on on the dirt tips when you get on to the lawns, besides that the place as some verry good exibits like the mechanical soler system

This was brilliant. I thought the 2yr old would get bored but there were things for all ages. He loved the outdoor water activity. The 9yr old loved it all, particularly the chair that went up and down by the power of a hoover!

Loads and loads of science themed interactive things for kids to do (adults too, I had a great time!).

Planetarium show was brilliant and again the 2yr enjoyed it too (we did also ply him with snacks). Though, probably not all youngsters would and they do recommend not taking toddlers in.

Lovely themed playpark, loads of outdoor space for sitting, walking round, having a picnic. Picnic tables dotted around outside and a restaurant/cafe inside. Also a food shack outside the Planetarium.

Absolutely amazing day! We went (me and my husband) with our 1 1/2 year old and thoroughly enjoyed it. We were there about 3 1/2 hours and lots for little one to do, we didn't do the talks etc as my son wouldn't have sat long enough but the activities were fantastic. 100% recommend

We had a lovely day out here, the children learned new things, as did the adults. There is a great little play area, shows and demonstrations, interactive science exhibits for the kids and the beautiful observatories. There's a little cafe which was very busy and slow, so maybe take your own food if possible.
