This is a great place for kids of all ages. Lots and lots of hands on/interactive things. When I say lots I mean it. Listen to a talk which even young children can sit through. We went after 2.30pm and the school visits were all leaving so a good time to go. It is separate from the Herstmonceux Castle and gardens but you can tickets at the same time. Visit one and then the other. Plan the day around the castle tour if you do both.

Lots of interactive exhibits out and indoors. Plenty of space to pic-nic, ramp access... helpful staff give mini tours throughout the day. Close to the castle and seaside make for a varied day out.

Great place to visit, particularly for the Astronomy Festival when solar and evening viewing adds something special. Staff are friendly and helpful and always ready to advise with stargazing help. Lots of hands-on science exhibits, both indoors and out, which means it is a venue suitable for all ages and all weathers.

The only disappointment when we visited for this year's festival was that the café menu doesn't have quite such a wide range of food as it did and prices seem to have risen slightly. Café staff were struggling to keep pace with the high demand during the festival although there seemed particularly high attendance this year which probably contributed to the challenge.

That minor issue aside, we always look forward to visiting and learning new things.
