Great food very simple no heavy sauce very light and filling. Good service quantities are just right. Decor good. Food is keeping with the streets of India.

Nicely presented casual Indian dining.
Taste is light, in comparison to the usual stodgy thick you get but I thought it's not bad. A little underwhelming though.

After a long time of watching this restaurant. My wife, and I, finally plucked up the courage to give this place a try.  We were not disappointed.

The restaurant is very clean. Tables lightly set and the chairs are comfortable. Lighting is pretty good. No problem reading the menu. The toilets are compact and exceptionally clean. This was a very pleasant surprise. An area that many an Indian inspired restaurant leaves out. The kitchen is partially open plan so you can see some of the food being prepared and, that the cleanliness extends there too.

The bar area is in the corner and on show too.

The menu itself is pretty clear, concise, and brief. Not a lot here to get yourself complicated with. That said. If you are of Indian or similar background. There are lots of items here that you would be familiar with. Maybe some you would even get excited about. If you are new to the concept of Indian Street food, and been tempted to give it a try. This is the place for you.

It is important to understand what this restaurant is aiming to achieve. They are trying to introduce and build upon the Indian Street Food concept. This is really a variation of Tapas. You are best to select a mixture of dishes and sample pieces of them all, over conversation and drinks of your choice. Very informal. To build on the Indian street atmosphere, the artwork is Bollywood posters, and the flatware is traditional stainless steel plates and beakers.

The food is good quality and, indeed tasty with good presentation. But although inspired by Indian Street Food. If you think you will be transported back to the tastes of Mumbai or Delhi. This is not going to happen. The food here is based on, and not a reproduction of traditional Street Food. It is created to a little more of a European taste. It is not fiery hot. This does not detract in any way from its quality or origin.

We had a good mix from the selection. Of note, I will say the Dosa was very good, but a little expensive for what it is, and in comparison to other likewise restaurants. That said you can’t get one anywhere else in Eastbourne so it’s a cornered market.

We met the owner who was very nice and showed a real interest in all the guests that came in while we were there.

Our visit was better than expected, and we did enjoy the food. I’m sure we will be back in the future.

If you want Indian Cuisine in Eastbourne you would be foolish to walk past this restaurant.
I dined with a colleague and the food and service was faultless. If you can't decide on what to have, they offer a great solution in Indian Tapas. We chose 6 different dishes, along with sides and none of the choices that we had made were a mistake, all nicely presented and as expected. I was particulary impressed with the steel cups used for the drinks, we were informed by the management that these, rather than glass are commonly used in the area of India this restaurant represents.

Ridiculously delicious food. I dont live in Eastbourne but I will come back here just for this food. I stuffed myself so bad I cant move was so tasty:)))) funny that bad reviews here are from Indian people. I witnessed Indian man sitting down and ordering one tapas? Seriously?! And being rude witn owner cause he would be happy probaly only if he fed him for free. I've ordered 3 tapas and a beer. Made me super full, cause theyre quite big for tapas and spent same as I went to Nando's or Wagamama. I'd pay double for this taste. Happy it wasn't expensive :)

Really lovely food. I tasted all the dishes we ordered and enjoyed every single one. Staff seemed friendly and we got our food quickly. I'll order less next time as the total bill for the 3 of us was higher than I was expecting for a lunchtime snack, but like all tapas style places, if your eyes are bigger than your stomach you can end up spending more that you expected.

Indian with an amazing twist.

Highly recommend this for groups or friends, I had 12 for my birthday and came back 2 weeks later with a friend.

Try as many of the tapas dishes you think you can eat, we had 4 each. All full of flavour!
If you like sagaloo, there is a spinach dish near the bottom left side that is delicious.

Service is great, they are happy to answer questions as the dishes are different.
Enjoy

We had an early Christmas family get together here on saturday lunchtime. The food was delicious the service was superb.
I always find going for an Indian a bit tedious and boring as I always find most dishes just blend into one flavour, Tuk Tuk however is completely the opposite. The menu is so varied and different to the norm that I have made it a mission to try every dish on the tapas menu( obviously not in one sitting though). Stand out dishes today were the Egg Roll so good we ordered another one the butter chicken and mutton curry were delicious in fact everything we ordered was delicious even down to the naan bread. We had four children in our group ranging from 8-14 in age and even they said the food was lovely and can they come back again.
If I were to have one criticism and it is a tiny one, it is that they need to get an Indian beer on draught. Other than that it is 5 stars with out batting an eyelid.
Menu is amazing food is delicious service was excellent. For those who say it is expensive for Indian street food, just remember it is not being made over a gas stove in a Indian street. It is being made in a kitchen in a restaurant in eastbourne, of course it is not going to cost 50p a portion.
I will reccomend tuk tuk to everyone I know and even those I don’t.

My partner and I booked an early table here on a Wednesday night in December, the first time we had visited the restaurant.
We opted for the tapas style menu and each chose 3 (as recommended) accompanied by 2 Nan breads. The food was cooked beautifully and was all delicious.
We shared the Mutton curry, Malabar Prawn curry, Goan Calamari, Railway snack, Sag paneer, Three-way Chicken Tikka.
The restaurant was clean and comfortable with nice décor.
The service was good too. My only negative point would be that the Prawn and Mutton curries were slightly over-priced for the amount in the dish as they were made up of mostly sauce, but that said they were tasty.

Tuk Tuk has been my favourite Eastbourne restaurant ever since I discovered it. With the new interior and slightly tweaked menu, it’s even better than before ! Delicious Indian food in a contemporary, stylish eaterie. We had the Vegetarian Thali, Three Way Chicken and Chilli Panner with Popadoms. All of it was perfect !

The wife took me in for lunch, her having eaten here before and her also knowing the owners.
I do not know the owners so do not feel biased in any way: my review, as always, is based on my experience of the meal.
What a fantastic, vibrant venue! Brilliant colours, very open and spacious!
The only staff member I met was the Waiter/Maite'D and he was polite, friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help (without being intrusive).
I chose to eat from the tapas menu and am glad I did! The Lamb Vindaloo is one of the best I have ever eaten. Too many places make a vindaloo all about heat, forgetting about flavour. Tuk Tuk's Konkan Vindaloo was full of fruity flavour, tender and pleasantly hot.
The mutton curry was again full of flavour and tender, without being fatty and is a true gem. I'd even guess it's the chef's signature piece, with hits of fruit and spice and a mild heat.
Good portions, great prices. A real treat that will call us back to Eastbourne often.
