I was very flattered to be asked to speak to local business owners at a Santander Business Breakthrough event in Dorking on 30th November 2016. But the prospect was also very nerve-racking! Luckily Ges was able to give me some brilliant tips on how to engage my audience and suppress my nerves. Ges generously agreed to run a short confidence and technique building session for a group of people with aphasia who attend Dyscover (www.dyscover.org.uk) People with aphasia find it difficult to use and understand language, usually as a result of stroke. Ges immediately set everyone at ease, and despite their limited language effectively helped all participants to understand the 5 simple skills for boosting confidence and engagement. He encouraged people to try changing one thing about the way they presented themselves and experience the difference in how they felt and how they were perceived. The session was fun, easy to follow and one of the most effective examples of training I've seen.

I attended a public speaking workshop with Ges at Surrey University. I thoroughly enjoyed it and it was great to see the techniques I have heard about in books being used in person to observe! I then went on to practice and use all these techniques in my assessment centre at Microsoft for placement year at university and everybody there was super impressed with my presentation... and I am not going to lie, my presentation was far better than everybody else’s! They all commented on it after I finished! Then low and behold, few days later I got offered the placement! I am absolutely ecstatic and I would recommend the workshop to everybody as effective presenting is a vital characteristic!!

Ges gave the Fundraising Team of Woking & Sam Beare Hospices a lesson on public speaking. He talked us through techniques that will help us to control our nerves and to be more effective in engaging with an audience. The training was extremely interactive and even the more senior fundraisers benefitted from a well delivered training.

I attended a 1 day workshop on public speaking with Ges yesterday. Safe to say that before the event, I was absolutely dreading it. Much to my surprise I thoroughly enjoyed the day. Ges made everyone feel so at ease, quickly gaining the groups trust and building individual’s confidence to try out the new techniques learnt in a safe / collaborative environment.
