A fantastic day out no matter the weather. We visit often and there’s always something new to see, do and learn about.

Unlike the larger zoos, the keepers are more visible. The keepers are so friendly and no question is too much, they are knowledgable and have great customer service.

The new lion enclosure is amazing, you can really get up, close and personal with the beautiful white lions.

We have become members of the zoo and plan to return for the special weekends planned throughout the year to support the amazing endangered animals they look after.

We visited today as our 4 year old son loves Big Cats, especially Snow Leopards & Dinosaurs. Despite the horrible wet weather, (typically British), we had a truly amazing day. The Dinosaurs are just fantastic!! The new White Lion enclosure is amazing & the Snow Leopards were beautiful. All of the animals enclosures were clean, very well maintained & perfect. All of the staff were friendly & helpful, especially Hanna the Big Cat Keeper who went out of her way to make sure our boy enjoyed seeing the Snow Leopards.

Having my 5 year nephew for the day myself and mum thought we would take him along to his first wildlife park. He was very pleased to see the play ground as we were driving in. I have pre-booked the tickets but was surprised how expensive it is for a kid to get in, My mum uses a scooter to get around which was very easy for her. Our only issue was not being able to get her up on the higher levels to see the tigers.
I thought the dinosaur trail was good fun tho my nephew informed me that they were not real even tho he got to stroke one. So sweet.
I was pleased to see the animals and cages all looked well looked after. All the staff we spoke to were very helpful. It was a Monday that we visited so not that busy but im sure at the weekends its v popular.
I think will return again in the future.

Came here with my partner and for a weekend it was surprisingly easy to get around and wasn't too overcrowded. The gift shop was full of amazing things and the park itself was great. We saw the tigers/lions being fed and it was a nice day out with a lot to do. You can do this with or without kids as luckily they have a huge play area for kids to go and so it makes it easier for people that don't have any to enjoy the zoo too. I would come back again.

I am an amateur wildlife photographer and this park was ideal. The White Male Lion is magnificent and is worth the entry fee alone.

I love this place, it is a small zoo, but everything you need. Plenty for all ages, although some area's would be difficult for people with mobility issues. We did the ' tickle the tapir' and it was a fantastic experience. Tim even came from the other stable to join us for a good scratch, they truely loved it, same as i did. Highly recommended.

I will never tire of this zoo. The animals are treated with the great care and respect, there are always talks and it’s small enough to see everything in a few hours.
Younger children will enjoy the play areas and a swim suit and towel for the splash area in the summer.
The big cats were on form this visit, pouncing , prowling and generally very nosy!
Our best memory of this zoo is a wedding we went to in the Tiger enclosure with reception and ceremony in the gardens.

Earlier this week I took my very young grandchildren to the Park with their Mum.

It was brilliant with lots of animals to see and, of course, the dinosaurs. The park is beautifully clean and you don't have to walk miles to see the animals.Food prices were sensible but we took a picnic. We parked close to the entrance which meant we could easily go to our car to get the picnic and take it back in.

This would have easily been 5 star but I give it 4 because of the ridiculously price of the railway ride. It is £2 a head and lasts about 2 minutes. A total rip-off.

A great quality place to visit

Unbelievable experience, what a great day out!

Went out with the Mrs looking for something that we don’t do everyday so decided to go to Paradise Wildlife Park and what a great decision

Had a really good time and there was plenty to do throughout the day. The animals were majestic and really love the guys that work there as they were so welcoming and friendly which helped make the overall experience even better

Have recommended the park to friends and will definitely be back within the next few months 👏🏽👏🏽

Took our son here for his fifth birthday, he was amazed by all the big cats, and loved the dinosaur part, the park is spread out quite well, we had the nicest coffee in the tiger tree top cafe, there are plenty of play areas for small children, we watched the birds of prey being trained which was amazing to see, a big owl flew inches from our heads, it was really nice to be able to get up close to the animals, still can’t believe how big the male lion Moto was! The only drawback I could find is that there isn’t a great deal of signage to locate the zoo, but nothing a TomTom can’t deal with. Plenty of parking, plenty of facilities, would definitely return

We took the grandkids for a day out and all enjoyed it. I would have given it 5 stars if it was a bit easier to get round. We bought tickets online which saved a few ££ on the gate price at less than £70 for the 4 of us, so it is a bit pricey but all zoo's are, and if it helps with the conservation then its well spent.
The dinosaur area is fantastic, a lot of thought has gone into creating a spectacular attraction with authentic movement and sound from lots of beasts. The rest of the zoo is quite nice, although not as many animals as we were expecting. The big cats are the jewels here and all are magnificent.
There are a couple of nice play areas for the kids to run around and a water park area for when its warmer.
As with most of these places the food and drink is quite expensive but you can take picnics in so can save there. The gift shops sell the usual stuff for high prices!
Overall it is a nice park and the staff do a great job with interacting with the public and there are plenty of opportunities to feed some of the animals.

We took our grandchildren yesterday aged 3 & 4. Have to say they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. When asked what they enjoyed the most they both said everything. The only thing I would say is that it could be an expensive day with the add ons eg slots, face painting. Would recommend as it is a good day out

I have driven past the brown directional sign on the A10 for years so finally decided to visit with a friend.

It's a great wildlife park, we went midweek so it wasn't too busy which made our trip enjoyable.

The lions were roaring which was the highlight of the trip. Lots of different animals to see.

I plan to visit again but this time with my family/kids.

I visited this wild life park on may bank holiday for the first time in about 7 years, and although it was good then it has got better, we actually got to see the animals up close and was able to see a lion being fed by a member of the public ( just amazing ).
It also has a petting zoo farm animals and a children's play area.
There is also a speed way musem

I was lucky enough to win 2 tickets to Paradise Wildlife Park in a competition at the end of 2018 through social media.

We visited yesterday and were not disappointed in any sense of the word. The park is clean and tidy and the food was reasonably priced when compared to the prices charged in other parks of this nature.

Most importantly, our real reason for visiting was to see and photograph the animals, and we were not disappointed. All the animals look healthy and well cared for. The enclosures look good too.

The talks that we listened to were very informative.

If I hadn't won tickets, I may not have made the 3 and a half hour journey to visit. Now that I have been, I am looking forward to going back.

Don't think about visiting - do it! I'm sure you won't be disappointed!

This place gets better everytime i attend! There is now a dinosaur park and a train ride which the kiddies loved (thats £2.00 per person, under 2s go free). They have vast amounts of food to eat and an amazing ice cream place! There was even a show on for the kids was great! Had a lovely day and will look forward go going back again!

A journey into Paradise at Broxbournes Wildlife Park.
A fun and exciting adventure we couldn’t wait to embark.

With promises of thrills which could make us run for the doors.
A scary close encounter in the World of Dinosaurs.

30 dinos at safe distance – behind some wooden fence,
Made me toddler scream and shout; then throw up a defence. 🤣

He was absolutely petrified and thought that the Trex was very real.
Not stopping for a photo and quickly off on his little heel.

Following that scary experience we went digging for historic bones,
Both children playing calmly and each unearthing some huge “stones”.

The last bit in the dinosaur experience saw us elbow deep in poo.
The type of thing you never imagine when visiting a zoo!

We then found a little play park where the kiddies wanted to slide.
Lots of things to keep them amused meant no squabbling over rides.

After they’d burnt off a little energy we started on the zoo,
Starting at the birds of prey as they had not any queue.

Beautiful healthy owls and some macaw at the end,
Showing off their climbing skills and from the beak they could suspend.

We then fed the farm animals with some healthy little treats.
Each child holding out their steady hands whilst the cheeky ‘baa lamb’ eats.

Exiting the barn it was time to visit the lions in their den.
Each of them stalking us quietly from their high-up treetop pen.

Rolling around like a domestic cat settled in its home.
Purring very loudly before taking a little roam.

The park boast with Cheetahs; Jaguars and leopards too.
All very happy and healthy in this charming cheerful zoo.

We moved on to the penguins which were waddling outside,
Then diving into the water and surfing the drifting tide.

Elegantly gliding in the water upto the viewing glass.
Crowds gathering around to watch each funny character pass.

The lamas were my favourite character of the eventful day.
Maybe as we’d dressed the same in our very impressive array?

Their tuffs of hair flopping between their shiny eyes.
Just like mine actually which didn’t come as a surprise!

A Wallaby Walkthrough was next on our exciting animal list,
And one that I recommend that shouldn’t really be missed.

The emus also wandering inside with a elegant powerful grace.
Very bold and extremely vibrant – owning the outside space.

The last of the animals the toddlers waited to see all day,
“The zebras” they both shouted pushing us adults out of the way.

Standing in ore and pointing to their beautiful stripy skin,
Both content watching them plod around with happy huge big grins.

Wanting to refuel at the end of our busy day,
A slice of cake and a coffee in the large indoor soft play.

The kids amusing themselves as we sat watching as we ate.
The children* playing quietly whilst I finished up my plate. 😁

Overall a fantastic day and sweet local little zoo.
One id definitely recommend that you should visit too.

The prices seem accurate for a whole family packed fun day.
Average for a wildlife park and what you’d expect to pay.

*children used loosely as the grown men enjoyed the swings!

Been here a couple of times - weekday term time and a bank hol Monday. Weekday term time was quiet and more enjoyable but bank hol was okay, it’s big enough to accommodate some crowds.

The best parts are the dinosaurs and the playground, although it’s a bit cheeky to charge extra (£2pp) for the dinosaur train given the entry price. Look out for the big sandpit next to the dinosaur gift shop exit, where little ones can ‘dig’ for dinosaur bones.

The indoor soft play is also very good, despite people ignoring the signs about keeping the door closed / buggies out, and no staff supervising or cleaning up the tables. The coffee is almost undrinkable and I’d recommend bringing a picnic (plenty of picnic tables) unless you want to pay £5.50 for a sandwich. The toilets on bank hol Monday were disgusting, but they were okay when we went in the week.

The zoo part is good but, as other reviewers have commented, some cages do seem quite small. The new lion enclosure isn’t finished yet (says it’s due to open in May), but it looks like it will be much better.

Overall it’s a good day out, particularly if you have a young dinosaur fan. It’s just a shame the cafe & toilet facilities aren’t better.

Visited today with my 8 year old daughter and dinosaur mad 4 year old son. We booked tickets online - making a saving. Ample parking. No queues.
We had a blast. The park exceeded expectation.
The dinosaur enclosure was superb. All displays working / roaring / moving etc.
All enclosures were tidy. All staff friendly. Ashley in the Dino Nursery was particularly kind.
We found prices of extra bits like Train ride (£2) and water jet (£1) to be very reasonable. Gift shop prices, whilst inflated, were by no means extortionate. A great range of gifts on offer.
The animal enclosures were very tidy. Yes, I’d prefer to see the big cats enjoy more space, but I’ve seen worse.
There was so much to see, great balance of animals, games / rides / play areas etc
I found the toilets clean contrary to other reviews.
Lots of areas to sit / enjoy a picnic.
We had a super day and will return.
Thanks for a great day
See you again

This was our first visit to PWP. We got there for opening so parked (free) close to the entrance and the queue was short. We bought tickets online the day before, which saves you 5%.

I'd say the park is best suited for young children. There are lots of play areas. The dinosaur Park is really well done and my elddst son loved it. I personally think the train ride should be included in the price (£2 per adult/child).

We took a picnic so I can't comment on the food. There were a number of picnic areas dotted around the park. There looked to be a nice cafe looking out onto the big cat enclosure.

One thing that did let the park down is the toilets. Porta cabin by the entrance was truly disgusting by the end of the day. All were blocked and the smell...... Signs say the water pressure isn't great but surely something could be done to improve the facilties.

The highlight for us was the gibbons, they were hugely entertaining. Never heard anything like it!

We visited Paradise Wildlife Park on a Saturday in April 2019. This was our first visit here but we had heard about it through a visit to the Big Cat Sanctuary a couple of years ago. Not sure what I was expecting but I found it a very bizarre..... On arrival we drove past the first hint of the "paradise" for kids. We parked up fairly easily (although they very quickly started using the overflow car park). There was a small queue to get in, but we had pre-paid our tickets so were through quite quickly. We were given a map, an easter egg trail (for kids that we don't have) and a stamp so we could return to the car with ease.

Turns out the map is awful and I couldn't get on with it all day! Not everything was on the map, or where it should have been according to the map. Signage wasn't great in general and we walked in lots of circles! We initially couldn't find the animals as the entrance deposits you in the kids area and dinosaur trail. To get to the wildlife park you cross the road. It was at this point I realised that we only wanted to visit half of the map (perhaps my fault for not paying attention enough!).

Although there is a small selection of animals they are all pretty cool and seem to be in lovely condition. There are tigers, jaguars, lions, and a couple of other cats. There are a few gibbons that were very entertaining to watch. The red pandas are adorable and some of the reptiles were great and not what you see elsewhere! I had never seen a raccoon, which was cool. The farmyard area was a bit random and grotty, but the sheep were chatty. There were some talks during the day but we gave up as they were impossible to hear due to the very poor quality of speakers. Many others did the same. Were we not regular visitors to other wildlife parks we felt we would have been a bit disappointed with the small park. The beauty of the small size was that we did walk around many times and visited the enclosures later in the day when most of the families had gone home, which was nice.

Viewing areas for most of the park were really good. Lot's of different levels and places to see animals and a walkway that runs along most of the cat enclosures so you can see from above, or directly on to their platforms if they were up high. I was amazed at how open the lion enclosure was, and did see a couple of parents have to yank their children back! Wonderful for photography though! I will say that these areas would be tricky if you had mobility issues/children in buggies as the steps are quite high and there are a few of them. There is a ramp at one end but only one. We don't have mobility issues though so we thought it was great! There is a cafe outside the tiger enclosure with a huge window looking directly over them. We had a couple of really nice and reasonably priced cappuccinos whilst watching the tigers.

The bird area/area was a bit rubbish and awkward to find. There were some great birds there but the sun was shining on the cages so you couldn't see them at all (can't be helped). We didn't watch any displays but there was an arena there. It was tucked away behind the discovery centre out the way.

The gift shop was awful. It had the usual random tatt for kids, but nothing as simple as a nice magnet for Paradise Wildlife Park. We collect a magnet everywhere we go, and settled for the only one available which was really quite rubbish.

Lunch was a challenge as I queued for over 45 minutes. However, the food was good and reasonable in price and the staff were really lovely and friendly. We had a cheeseburger with fried for just over £12. It was tasty, but the restaurant was loud and chaotic. It was a busy day so it can all be expected. I would absolutely recommend taking a picnic. There are lot's of places to sit and eat around the park.

We felt that the park needs to decide what it is really. Is it a zoo or is it a playzone for kids? If it does both then I think you should be able to enter the animal park directly and pay less to do so as it is nowhere near the size of other wildlife parks we have visited, yet we paid the same as we would elsewhere for less

High point: The pride of white lions. Absolutely fantastic and stunning animals! We watched them for hours!

Low point: Needs to decide what it is! Not sure I would go back, and not sure I would recommend to others unless they are very tolerant or they have small children!

We took 2 little ones here to see the animals for their first time and I was very impressed at how much there was to see and do for all ages
The park is clearly marked out and easy to follow,
There is a dinosaur attraction which is wonderful for the children And also a wonderful little train that takes you on a journey through part of the park and the wolf enclosure
It has a lovely area to view the wild cats and the penguins,
All in all it’s a beautiful park with great staff who really interact with the public about the animals I will definitely recommend this and will return

Paradise Wildlife Park remains one of the best attractions for kids in Herts (if not SE England). Ranging from kids splash pool, live show, soft play, AND zoo through to a big dinosaur animatronic experience - it’s superb value for under £20 a head when booked online!

Downside was the day we went it was very busy and the park was rather dirty in places with bins overfilled and litter. Also the lack of seating was frustrating at times.

Overall two thumbs up!
