What a wonderful place to while away a day! Friendly, well informed staff who look after an unusual collection of animals which include a large number of the big cats and what's even better you can get unbelievably close to them! I was so close to a snow leopard that I could hear it crunching the bones in it's lunch which was brilliant......and so close to a lion that when it decided to spray and mark it's territory I would have got a shower if I hadn't been quick on my feet......not so brilliant ;) We had a brilliant day, one of the keepers gave us a talk about the otters and the red pandas which was fascinating. I had also booked a "Meet the Meerkats" experience for my partner as a surprise and he absolutely loved it, he hand fed them as they ran all over him and dug in his pockets, worth every penny to see him enjoy meeting them. We have been to much bigger, fancier zoos and had a lot less fun than our smile packed day at Paradise.

I was lucky to have been given a red letter day "meet the meerkat" experience which is held at this wildlife park, a park I had never heard of until today.

The experience itself is a must - my girlfriends daughter was allowed to take part, on the morning, for £49 which was really fair for 30 mins with these stunningly gorgeous creatures.

from the couple of hours that we were here (only had time to do the experience really today) we were blown away. Lovely location, very friendly and genuine staff, knowledgeable keepers and the widest range of big cats that I have seen in the UK, in conditions where they looked genuinely happy, or at least content :-)

We will be going back soon to spend a whole day here, we rushed around in 2 hours but you need half a day at least to get the most out of it.

Great job guys.

Having read many of the reviews about the park we finally decided to visit today . We had two children aged 8 & 10 in tow. The park is very family oriented . Upon arriving a nice play adventure area for kids of a variety of ages , through this to the animal enclosures.
The park is well set out and I personally felt the animals are well kept. There is a lot of debate over size of enclosures . Everyone is entitled to their opinion but mine is in captivity is captivity no matter the size of the cage obviously within reason ... The animals look cared for. I have been to several zoos that don't seem so good.
All in all there is a nice variety of species . And the viewing platforms are well situated.
Once we'd seen the animals we went back to the other side where the food and play areas are located . Good is good . Not cheap but it never is in these venues. It was however good value I felt .
All in all a good day out.
I would certainly recommend a visit

This is a lovely family wildlife park, with plenty of free entertainment to keep the children entertained. There is a very wide variety of animals to see , all of which vç to be in really good condition. We got some discount codes online so only paid for the adults so we only paid £34 for all 4 of us . An amazing day great value . We can Highly recommend this park

I had booked 3 nights at the zoos accommodation with 2 animal experiences (feed a big cat and meet the lemurs) the zoo is small but all the staff are very friendly and families are very well catered for in food, and amusements. My big cat feed was a little cramped and seemed very short for the money spent BUT the keeper was lovely and actually how often will anyone hand feed a snow leopard? The lemurs were very different as you could go in the enclosure and interact with them, again a lovely keeper and the lemurs were adorable. I decided whilst there that 2 nights was really enough for me and when I informed the staff they set about seeing if they could refund me part of the overall B&B cost - which was unexpected but I was very grateful when they did. The apartment was spotless but with high windows felt a bit oppressive. Tea coffee provided along with a chargeable minibar and a microwave. Had an issue with the air con. But this was sorted as soon as it was reported. Three generations of the family run this zoo and they clearly love what they do and maintain high standards.

We have been coming here for years as it is a beautifully designed wildlife park with some of the best animals in the UK. We did an animal experience by visiting and feeding the red pandas and it has been incredible, especially because these are very shy animals you would not see up close otherwise! This place is magic :)

My partner and I visited on 10th September after buying vouchers from Groupon which was a good bargain. We had a lovely day walking around the park; it's a decent size and it took us a good 4 hours to properly see everything. All the animals look healthy and cared for, the meerkats and otters were particularly fun to watch. The feeding times and talks were well advertised and allow you to get a good look at some of the animals. It was definitely geared towards young children but my partner and I, both mid 20s, had a great time anyway. Food wasn't particularly cheap but that's pretty similar everywhere now. I'd definitely recommend a visit if you like wildlife parks, there's wide range of animals to see and I got some lovely pictures.

If you're looking for a full family day out with animals, soft play, entertainment, great staff and then some then you won't go wrong with Paradise Wildlife Park!

There is so much for kids to do, lots of places to grab a drink or food (or both) and the raised platforms for the best views of the big cats are an added bonus!

The staff are great and despite going on a busy Saturday, we didn't queue for anything. There's crazy golf, bird shows, a lagoon, go-carting, speedway museum and even somewhere for the kids to make sand mementos of their day - we didn't fit it all in!

All in all I can't recommend Paradise highly enough - don't take my word for it though - GO!!!

Great facilities here to view lots of different animals. There are quite a few shows on offer for children, it was a shame we couldn't stay to watch the feeding of the Big cats. There is also the option to feed different animals (they sell bags of food). Besides the animals there is a short train ride for £1 per person, as well as a little F1 course for children. All in all it's a good day out and you can't really go wrong!

We came here for the day after searching the Internet for wildlife parks/zoos in Greater London. We were not disappointed. Really friendly and well run and easy to get to from London by train. A minibus picks you up from Broxbourne station on the hour (winter) for £3 return. Great for families and couples alike with an easy walk to see everything. Food was also good at several outlets. Plenty of animals to see in a very clean and tidy environment. Highly recommended.

As an animal lover I was given a birthday gift of "shadow a keeper" hadn't been to a zoo for years and not a great lover of animals in confined spaces however "Paradise Zoo" has changed my perception of Zoo's due solely to the quality of care and devotion given by without exception All the members of staff.
My friend and I found them to be very knowledgeable, caring and dedicated working long hours and often six days a week can't be easy in all weathers but their caring for the animals is paramount.
This Zoo is privately owned and they should be very proud of their staff who do make the difference in making this zoo very special.
Taking note from a previous reviewer who mentioned the cages were too small that was our first reaction but having the hands on experience you find out that these animals are constantly taken out for exercise and not confined as it appears.
The zoo was extremely clean, every single member of staff was helpful informative and extremely pleasant.
A wonderful day out whatever age and if you go don't be afraid to ask questions especially about the animals welfare, they'll be happy to advise you.

My fiancé and I were given a voucher for a 'breakfast with tigers' experience and it didn't disappoint. On arrival we were given biscuits and coffee and the tour started promptly, the tour guide, Tony, was very welcoming and chatty, and knew alot about all the big cats. We were given in depth talks about the snow leopard, white lions, tigers, leopards and jaguars. Also the white tiger although we never even one caught a glimpse of him:L

As someone who is often not a fan of zoos, Tony really put me at ease, talking in depth about their various conservation projects and charity fundraisers. Afterwards, the breakfast was yummy, a selection of pastries and cheese etc. And the rest of the day was ours to do as we pleased, included in the price of the voucher.

We met up with my mother and daughter, who is two, and saw the rest of the animals. Red pandas, meerkats, some TINY monkeys, penguins. All looked fine and well looked after. As zoos go its quite small, and we left around 1pm.

We had a go on the mini train, which was £1 each and was a fun little extra, there was loads of really good play areas and my daughter loved the fire engine slide and indoor soft play. Food was expensive so we decided to get lunch elsewhere but cafe seemed clean.

Worth a visit!

My 7 year old son loves animals so we have visited several animal parks and zoos in recent years in the UK and abroad so we decided to try Paradise Wildlife Park, my son was keen to see a white tiger and white lions. First impressions of the park were awful as to get to the animals you have to walk past a lot of what I can only describe as gaudy and tacky play areas and amusements that you have to pay extra for. Finally crossing the road to the animal area I felt it was mixed reviews, we absolutely loved the red pandas who were the most active red pandas we have ever seen, and the reindeer with the most enormous antlers and the bird area and show however I felt a lot of the cages were dated and tired and small. So many other zoos have progressed to have more open spaces for the animals and things like Lemur and monkey walkthroughs whereas here these animals were in small cages. I also felt that apart from at feed times a lot of the animals couldn't be seen, so unless you followed the feeding and talk timetable you couldn't see some of them. The white tiger made me sad as he seems to be continually pacing up and down a small area of his cage and the penguin pool was awful. We quite liked the woodland walk though despite it being quite short. Although not as expensive as Colchester zoo or London Zoo I do feel these zoos are better. If you like places with a lot of play areas and don't mind spending extra on some of the other rides and amusements and animals are not the main reason for your visit then this may be the place for you but for us it didn't hit the spot and we wouldn't return.

This really is a lovely little zoo with plenty to do. Indoor soft play for less favourable weather and a small splash park for the sunshine. The animals enclosures are well spaced out and have view points from the ground as well as walk ways above them. You can get close to lots of the big cats and talks and feeds go on throughout the day. The food here is expensive so you are probably best bringing your own picnic. The park is clean and there is plenty to do here.

This park is nearly an hours drive from home and it was well worth the visit. My daughters are 10 and 12 and upon arrival I thought they may have been a bit old upon seeing all the play areas but I couldn't have been more wrong. Although they didn't use the play area other than the wavy slide we saw every animal, listened to many talks and thoroughly had a fab day. We didn't take a picnic today and all had a hot dog which was very nice and at about the right price of an attraction. We spent 6 hours at the park and would definitely recommend it to anyone else looking for a great day out with the family.

Greatvday out, compact site, cleverly designed with high upnwalkways giving you fantastic vantage points to see animals, and without having to tow young kids miles between enclosures. Split into 2 sides, one the wildlife park and fab crazy golf, the other soft play, playgrounds etc. You do need to expect to pay an additional pound for a few things though such as the train, and some kids payable rides, so I would budget another fiver. Great tree top cafe with fab cake where we ate watching tigers eying us up for dinner ( through glass obviously!). We went on a groupon offer but would definitely go again and plan to stay all day until it closes. Suprisingly good , not that busy, and a firm hit with a usually demanding 6 year old!

I visited this park to take part in a hand feeding experience, the zoo has lots of different cats and the hand feeding was excellent, an experienced keeper who was very informative and the actually feeding was fantastic, the feeding lasted around 30 minutes and was worth every penny, if you love cats this is a great experience. The zoo has a farm area and young children can stroke ponies, goats and a pig, lots of talks throughout the day and plenty of play areas for the children, some undercover and picnic areas too which were also undercover. The cafe was busy but I cannot comment as we took our own food and drinks, the cafe overlooking the tigers looked nice and had a reasonable selection of snacks. Staff were pleasant and helpful, it is a good day out if you love a zoo, it is quite compact and flat so if walking is a problem it shouldn't be too tiring, good for pushchairs too, nice paved pathways.

Visited over the bank holiday weekend with three generations of my family, (oldest 65, youngest 4)
I had prebooked and paid for my tickets online, so the process was quick and easy. I went to the prepaid counter, we had our hands stamped and then entered the park.
My father has to walk with a stick and struggles to walk distances but this zoo is perfect for him. Its not to big and zast and he was able to access all areas.
Its also a perfect size for younger visitors. My 4 year old niece was with us and she walked around well and could see inside all the pens. She was able to feed the animals, that we had brought the food bags for and really enjoyed it.
There's plenty of places to buy food and drink, if you didn't bring your own picnic. We purchased food from the main restaurant. Although it was busy we were served quickly. The food was good and reasonably priced.
There is a huge play area with swings, slides and a bouncy castle fot the younger visitors to tire themselves out.
As zoo's go this has all you need. Lots of animals, play areas and information centres.
The pen sizes are alittle smaller than other zoo's but the animals appear clean and well catered for.
Will definitely visit again.
My hightlight was finding out that they have their own bee's and produce their own honey! Excellent

Went here yesterday on the recommendation of a friend, 4 adults 1 teen & a 16 month old & had a lovely day. There was a really good selection of animals to see, lots of things for little ones (soft play area, bouncy castle & swings & slides). The crazy golf was really fun & great value for money. The toilets were extremely well kept & there were plenty of places to grab a drink or snack. Was pram accessible which is a worry for mums. Extremely good value for money (book online & save 20%) Would definitely visit again.

A fantastic place to visit. Has a wide variety of zoo animals including the most magnificent white lions (4 of them); jaguar; tigers; cheetah; leopard; snow leopard; wolves; meerkats and many many more. The whole park is on flat land so no hills or steep slopes for buggies or wheelchairs. Very reasonable costs - £17 for adults; £14 for children and concessions for olders; special needs and family tickets.

They have copious amounts of play areas including a Special Garden with playground equipment for disabled and special needs children/adults. All the areas, enclosures and areas are really well kept and clean. Animals all look really well looked after and the keepers are exceptionally knowledgeable both during their scheduled talks/displays and when you just stop one whilst walking around.

There are many ways to interact with the animals also as there is a petting zoo, many animals close enough to pet (like reindeer) and animal food on sale at £1 per bag.

Food and drinks are of good quality and reasonable costs less than £40 for a full hot meal including drinks for 4 adults. There is also a bar! You can also take your own picnic and there are many picnic areas to choose from.

Beware though - DO NOT purchase hot drinks from Smokin Sam's in the open area - absolutely disgusting and totally undrinkable. Instead walk a few yards to Safari Sam's or the indoor play area cafe where they serve amazing lattes, americano, hot chocolate etc.

All in a fantastic day out and we will be returning

Had a fab day out with my 7 year. We enjoyed seeing all the animals especially the Lions and Tigers, and believe it or not the snakes. There was lots to do other than seeing the animal. Taking a walk in the woods, soft ball play area, outdoor area and the little paddling pool. The restuarant sold hot and cold food. Bring your own picnics and eat in the various picnics outdoor areas. The wooden train ride was fun, cost £1 a ride which takes you around the park. There were cashpoint dotted around the park. They had a few kids shows on stage which was good. All in all it made a fun day out. Weather was just right (no rain). You are sure to have a brilliant day.

A mixed review from me really. Overall we had a good day out with our kids of 5 & 8 yrs having a great time. Lots of play attractions inc; park, bouncy castles, slides, dance show, crazy golf, ride on cars, sand & water park which were all fun. Lots of lovely picnic areas and the bird of prey show was really good.

The big cats were amazing to look at and with the high ramp we were able to get a really good view but my main criticism is just how sad and utterly bored they looked. I'm not an expert but in my opinion the enclosures were too small for such large cats. We saw them at 9:30am and again at 3pm and most had not bothered to move. Either that, or they were pacing around (the snow leopard looked really eager to escape). It does make me question if visiting these places is right or not. The penguin enclosure was the saddest of all. With a shallow, rundown pool. Nothing going in there at all. Compare this to Colchester zoos penguin enclosure where they have a deep pool with floating rocks and the penguins go crazy swimming about...complete contrast! Having said that the park was very clean and animals looked after. Just please invest more in the poor penguin pool!
