We visited Paradise Wildlife Park in Broxbourne on the 15th June 2010. We went for the Meet the Red Pandas and Ideal Day experiences. We were met at the discovery centre by keeper Matt for my Meet the Red Panda experience! I also received a t-shirt and certificate. The keeper was 10 minutes late and I kept worrying that I wouldn’t have the full 30 minutes with the Red Pandas, I had paid £99 for the experience! I needn’t have worried; Matt was friendly and gave me his full attention. I was taken to the kitchen to collect the Red Panda fruit, vegetables and bamboo. When we arrived at the Red Panda enclosure the Red Pandas were out waiting for their feed. I was so happy!! I spent the next 30 minutes feeding the Red Pandas and I even got to stroke one of them, Roz. It was a dream come true as I believed there were no contact with the Red Pandas and to be told I could stroke one was unbelievable!!

Straight after my Red Panda experience we were met by Kate another keeper whom took us on our Ideal Day! We visited many animals. Our first stop was the Wallabies and we fed them in their enclosure. We stroked a Tapir and Zebra and then fed the Meerkats, when we entered their enclosure they jumped all over Keith whom had the bowl of mealworms! We got to fly an Eagle Owl called Moby which I adored! It was simply stunning to see a beautiful creature fly straight to your arm! To conclude the tour we then visited the Lions whom we got to feed by hand! I had a Lion lick my fingers!! We were given guidebooks, VIP passes and a complementary lunch with the tour. Kate our keeper was so nice, and went above and beyond her position to give us a wonderful day with the animals!

We stayed at the zoo until 5.30pm. We viewed all the animals in the zoo and liked the Jaguar and got to see the Tigers being fed. I’d recommend Paradise Wildlife Park to anyone in the area and their animal experiences are well worth the money paid as the keepers give you their whole attention and do not rush you when with the animals.
