A consistently fine pub that serves a great choice of ales. Some superb regularly changing choices throughout the year with the Timothy Taylor's ales this past summer. On top of that ,the food is cooked to perfection. Black board specials make the choices even more difficult to choose when you are a creature of habit with his own particular favourite and other favourites are on at once . Food is home cooked , finely prepared and ample. But please, save room for dessert.it is too good to skip! Try the chocolate brownies when they are on the menu---divine! Finally not to be missed are the Pie Nights and Sunday Roast where booking early is the secret. The staff are great but The Vic wouldn't be the same without the dedication of Victoria - the landlady .

I've been trying to think something spectacularly impressive and entertaining as a quote and seem to be doing about as well as i did last time the quiz was on and i completed some cards. Your pub is the absolute best ever in the entire world. Hooray! Xx

We love the Vic as it's a high quality venue that appeals to everyone.
It has a unique style, which is reflected in some of the art work displayed throughout and the variety of events & bands.
The food is always superb and the staff are friendly and just like in "Cheers" everybody always knows your name.

The Vic has to be our favourite pub in Hitchin, we always seem to meet really interesting people there. The staff are fab and there is always something fun going on either in the pub or the barn. We also love the changing selection of craft beer - always something new to try :)

A warm welcome always greets us when we arrive at The Vic, it could be a bearded smile or a ladylike wave but its always a happy one! The atmosphere is always awesome, whether it be a cozy sunday afternoon with Fat Freddy's Drop on the stereo or a Friday band night with Roadrunner vibing out the dancefloor. I've never had a dull moment here, the staff are awesome and the Sunday Roasts KICK A**!

I’m just writing to let you know that we had a superb evening at the Vic last night and thoroughly enjoyed the Modern British Tapas. It was delicious, service was very good and we liked the big variety on the menu. Would definitely recommend Modern Tapas at the Vic… it was game, set match!

an absolutely amazing weekend, just gets better year on year!! huge congrats, it stuns me how u make it bigger and better each time.cant wait til next year.and just a footnote.ur mammy and daddy would be unbelievably proud of you all!! and rightly so! methinks its now time to chillax and plan some quality, quiet romantic getaway to celebrate yor upcoming anniversary.

The Victoria is a friendly no-nonsense pub with a pleasant interior, a well-kept beer garden and it’s own unique barn for special one off events and private hire.
The pub serves an excellent range of quality beers, lagers and ciders. It’s food, whether it’s a Sunday roast or a Monday snack is first class and the service is always quick and polite.
Entertainment ranges from live music at the weekends, quiz nights every few Wednesday, comedy nights, a book club, and even cycling escapades !
Then there are the two annual Vic Fests when all of the above comes together on the May and August bank holidays in a crescendo of real ales, Live Music and classic foods and plenty of cheeses !!
The bar staff are extremely friendly and last but not least the landlady is a cracker !!

We ‘love our local’ The Vic, for it’s real community spirit; supporting local events, musicians, businesses and people. They have really taken the concept of the pub as the heart of the community and made that real for all types, tastes and budgets. They are brilliant at keeping in touch (emails, social media – delivered in their own great witty style) and are constantly offering good value, delicious meals, drinks and a mix of events to suit all.
