We were gifted this experience which lasts about 1.25 hours in which you climb up into the roof space and onto the outside parapets of the cathedral. It is incredible how much pace there is which cannot be seen from ground level and the views were amazing. Graham our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable, giving us relevant history to the cathedral and descriptions of how it was built. Well worth doing if you are fit enough to climb about 80 spiral steps and cope with heights and some confined spaces.

They have a special "moon floor" at the moment, which is a bonus. The displays, especially the presentation about the ancient gospels, were fascinating.

We diverted our trip from Bracknell to Leeds to explore this Gothic cathedral and so worth the effort. We had to wait to get in as a funeral was occurring. After ~1300 years still an active place of worship. The stained glass is magnificent as is its intricate 'carved' interior and exterior.

This cathedral is one of the nicest looking I have been to. It has some very nice patterns and sculptures at the front of the building.

Lichfield Cathedral is a one of the oldest churches in the country of England and is amazing to visit. The outside of the church shows it's age but to me makes it that more charming of a building. Make sure you give yourself enough time to look around all the chapels in the church.

I took my autistic don to the the selfi on the moon expedition which was.....not as i imagined. A sticker on the floor. However, we made the most of it, had fun, chatted to the lovely man in the gift shop, ate space food and then had a tour with Liz. We were the only people so it was perfect for my son. A really cool interactive discussion and loads of questions asked. Liz really knew the history and some details which grabbed my sons attention his thirst for knowledge. All up and down, in and out we chatted and had intresting information gave to us in a really enjoyable way. My sin was really engaged for a long time an i wobbled behind taking pictures. This was a lovely day out for us and brought history and architecture to life. The selfi on the moon does require imagination, flat shoes and best pics are from the platform. So many hidden areas, pockets of things to look at, corridors and rooms. A real eye opener. The art fest is on too so three things in one. Lovely couple of hours.

This magnificent building is well worth a visit and is free to enter, although, as you would expect, donations are appreciated. Very ornate and the stained glass windows are fantastic.

My wife and I, and two 8 year old boys went on the Cathedral tour that took us into the eaves of the cathedral and up into the spires. Apart from the view across Lichfield and Staffordshire being absolutely stunning the tour also gave a really interesting insight into not only the history of the Cathedral but also the English Civil War and further back in history. The guide made it fun and interesting so that it appealed range of ages, including 8 year olds who were gripped throughout. I'd certainly recommend booking this if you have the chance.

We visited while the local choir was practicing their sermon performance. The sound that ricochets from the walls is absolutely gorgeous!

The architecture is phenomenal and makes for gorgeous photography. Their are small glass cases and framed historic artefacts scattered around the main hall of the cathedral. Ranging from WW1 & 2 memorabilia to local historic artefacts.
100% recommend a visit to this historic place if you are in the area

Such a beautiful cathedral in our close by city, we are so lucky to have this building so near by. Well worth the visit and I have been many times, as Lichfield was my birth place.

Passing visit as we were with younger children so didn’t get to wait and look around.
Evening song was on and what a beautiful sound. Sent shivers up your spine.
Beautiful architecture And grounds.
I believe you are able to look around but as mentioned, evening song was on and the children were with us so this put paid to that.
I took a picture inside the church but was told that I shouldn’t have (sorry I didn’t reAlise)!
The greeters were extremely kind and helpful.

Beautiful building, stone work (inside and out), marble carvings, fantastic stain glass windows. St Chads chapel was really interesting. Lovely building to explore. Well worth a visit. We were lucky enough to catch the midday communion Service which just made the visit perfect. Display by artists paintings and sculptors just added to the experience. Also lucky enough to catch a small orchestra rehearing for a performance and the acoustics were wonderful. Would have loved to go to the proper thing.
