You either like cathedrals or you don't. I do and when you walk in through the huge portal, you enter a place of cool, peaceful calm.

A 2 minute walk from the small town-centre, an unexpected pleasure in such a small place, the Cathedral is amazing both inside and out. As you enter you are greeted by friendly, helpful staff/volunteers. There is no entrance fee but you are asked to consider making a donation, once you've walked around the different areas of the catherdral and read about the maintenance and running costs, not to mention the huge project of removing and cleaning some of the huge stained glass windows, then you will be more than happy to make a donation. You do have to pay £2 for a photography permit too, which is a small price for the budding photographer who wants some interesting snaps of the beautiful architecture, artefacts and art. There is a small gift shop inside but the toilets are a minutes walk back down the road. There are also coffee shops nearby.

It's bigger inside than it looks. Pleasant staff, not cold in the winter. Take it slowly and spend some time inside, also check out the external architecture too. Don't forget some pennies for the donation box.

I've only been to see my daughter in a concert but must say the place is impressive.

Visited during exhibition of Staffordshire Hoard. Excellent organisation, peaceful and plenty to discover and learn about.

I do not visit Lichfield Cathedral on a regular basis as we live round the corner!! I have sung in a choir there and I often go to hear various grandchidren perform with their respective schools.

When I used to work for a company that specialised in car leasing in Lichfield, it was a joy to take a walk around the town. I have now been at least a dozen times to the Cathedral and worth visiting.

The location of the cathedral is stunning, and the famous three spires are a landmark for miles around. Inside, the cathedral is a feast for the eyes and the spirit, a marvel of soaring gothic architecture.

Well worth a visit; I have taken groups of children around the cathedral several times and every time they have been awestruck. The history, the architecture and the atmosphre are fascinating and staff only too pleased to help and inform.
