Visited for the moon exhibition before it ended. First time inside but have seen the exterior of Lichfield Cathedral before on previous visits. Looks like one area will need repairs. There is a gift shop or donation stations.

Wonderful history you can touch and enjoy close up. The moon was a draw for our grandchildren, but once inside they enjoyed a walk round and asked lots of questions, we'll worth a visit fir the architecture alone !

Second time we've visited Lichfield, half-term school holiday so it was busier this time around and took a while to find somewhere to accommadate us for some lunch. Lichfield Cathedral moon exhibition on until 31st October 2022 and very fortunate to see it as it is travelling all over the world! Got to visit places we didn't see the first time too but not everything so another visit is pencilled in.

Beautiful cathedral. Went to see the Moon which was amazing. Very disappointed at fact the music was so quiet you could not hear it. The sound of people and children over powered it. The place has fantastic acoustics so it would of been amazing. Paid to see it at night especially for the atmosphere should of gone during the day as it was free!

Lovely place to visit along with a stroll around the city streets. The cathedral is huge, free to visit, well maintained, friendly staff and sometimes have exhibitions like this on show. I would be happy to visit again.

Having worked in Lichfield in the long distant pre-COVID past, I've always loved to be around the Cathedral even as an agnostic - families and friends having picnics on the grass in the summer, hosting the Food Festival on its grounds, and appreciating the sheer grandness of the architecture and stained glass. It's such a beautiful landmark.

But the Museum of the Moon exhibition really is something special. If you're free before 31st October, drop by to see it - it's only £5 for entry in the evening (which I believe is the exhibition as it's truly meant to be viewed - the installation is internally lit with a soft glow, and there's a beautiful ambient soundtrack). It's stunning from every angle, some people even lay down on the floor to view it from below - you simply can't get bored of looking at it.

There are plenty of seats around with opportunities to grab refreshments (and from an accessibility perspective, there is a ramp for the main entrance). I didn't partake of the food on offer, but I did just sit and soak up the atmosphere for an hour. The gift shop is open too with some cute space-themed paraphernalia for little gifts, or for the kids.

I'll definitely look into more night-time Cathedral events, and I hope they consider hosting more immersive art like this!
