It was a beautiful place, there was a Christmas tree competition, all very good, we lit candles for our love ones who are no longer with us.

A magical place, full of religious mysticism but a working centre of a vibrant city. The architecture is superb, the cloisters and surrounding buildings give a feel of community and industry. Wonderful

Always looks amazing at Christmas, and a great place to just take a few minutes away from it all. Amazing cathedral throughout.

I visited here with my mother and sister and purely by chance it was the Christmas Tree Festival. Now I have visited a few of these Tree festivals and this was by far the best! So many superbly decorated trees along the sides of the cathedral, all decorated by local businesses, schools and charities. If you wanted, you could also vote for your favourite tree. There was also an excellent Nativity scene constructed in one of the wings. The Cathedral itself was lit with candles and made for a wonderful ambience. Many thanks for all those responsible for putting this together.

Wonderful idea displaying christmas trees . Buying a token and putting it in a box at your favourite tree to raise money for charity even better idea. Thought the Christmas market was going to be in front of the cathedral( dont know why) but would of been nice with hot drinks and food ???.
Cathedral being cleaned up on outside walls. Amazing the difference where it's now clean.
Good place to visit and also remember why we celebrate Christ in Christmas.. Good work by everyone on those trees.β€β€πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡πŸ˜πŸ‘

The unique three spired cathedral was lit up with illuminated images from the Christmas story, and inside a beautiful scene from the Nativity, a truly festive experience!
Christmas trees from organisations and companies lined the outskirts of the nave.
Staff were dedicated and friendly people always there to help.
A beautiful gift shop with plenty of wonderful gifts to choose from.
All Covid regulations were followed by public and staff alike.
The illumination of the cathedral and outer buildings was absolutely phenomenal.
In my opinion, apart from York Minster, this is the most atmospheric and serene cathedral in England; I will definitely return! πŸ’•πŸ™
