This is a really lovely cathedral with welcoming staff and interesting features. As we walked around there were people 'on duty' who would often come and talk to us and explain some of the features of the cathedral. Their enthusiasm and love for the place was very obvious.

There is a lot of different things to see, different interesting memorials (having worked in Melanesia we were especially interested in Archbishop Selwyns memorial), the military 'chapel' and other architectural features.

We like visiting cathedrals and have seen many all over the world. I think that this was one of the most interesting.

£2.00 each for entrance which is very reasonable. You can't go up the tower or use the loos though

We did not go in (Covid restrictions and limited time), but it is an amazing building just to look at from the outside. And the Cathedral Close is a pleasant tranquil space to stroll around too.

We arrived at 11 am to find that under the current restrictions we couldn't visit the interior of the Cathedral until 1.30 which was a disappointment. There was an opportunity for quiet prayer at 11.30 and we sat quietly and peacefully in this beautiful building. We will return in due course to have a proper look around. But what was outstanding was the extremely warm welcome we received from the volunteers manning the door. They were obviously passionate about the building and apologetic that they were unable to welcome visitors in the normal way. They answered our questions and encouraged us to return, which we will. In these difficult times it was good just to 'be', and this was probably far more beneficial than seeing it a site seeing visit.

In my view we have in the United Kingdom the finest cathedrals in the world and Lichfield stands high in the list. For a start, it is the only British catheral with three spires but the real magnificence is inside. Cloister-like passsages down ech side seem to go on forever and there is so much to read on the walls with the countless memorials. There is also a part of the building devoted to the history of the Staffordshire Regiment which was very interesting. All in all a beautiful building and well worth a visit.

The cathedral is close to the city centre surrounded by pleasant grounds and good views. It cost £2pp to enter with faster entry if you pre booked which I did waiting for it to re-open at 1.30pm. The exterior has lots of statues and some gargoyles. Inside is plainer but well worth seeing with interesting memorial plaques and fabulous stained glass windows. Staffordshire regimental chapel is interesting too.

I visit the Cathedral often. I used to go to University in Lichfield and I do miss my frequent visits now I work away from home. The Cathedral is often quiet, and very accepting of anyone who wants to sit in a service. I often light a candle and sit in the chapel upstairs to gather my thoughts and for some peace and quiet. Although tourists can be annoying in this instance, most do not bother you. If you are looking for a family day out though, this is definitely a beautiful building to look around. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and the Priest Father Tom is particularly lovely. Hope to visit again soon when I return home.
