Much to see here and many interesting stories are celebrated/remembered. Well laid out, good coffee and snacks. A great way to pass a few hours wandering about and learning stuff you did not realise was so very interesting.

As a veteran this place is very moving. I saw a number of names that I knew that were friends, colleagues and fellow competitors.

There are lots who have given the final sacrifice but one thing I was a little disappointed with was the tribute to The Forgotten Army.

My dad was part of Burma Campaign which has since been known as The Forgotten Army. Unfortunately, because it may have been one of the first gardens, it is now in an area behind the car park which I feel may become FORGOTTEN.

Please could it have more publicity, they should never be forgotten. I never will.

Thank you.

Thought provoking. Shame that the car parking steward was such a rude “jobs worth “. He gave the impression that he really didn’t want the job.

A large area for commeration. It is mostly dedicated to the armed services but includes many other organisations and individuals. Beautifully landscaped and signposted. Lots of paths between areas and lots of seating. Has a nice cafeteria, toilets etc and picnic areas. Somewhere that should be on everyone's bucket list.

It felt like a privilege to visit the Arboretum, and that's how you should feel.
When we visited we paid for a buggy tour, with a tour guide, she was amazing and informative.
The Arboretum has a serenity about it, it is a reflective place where you can walk through the memorial gardens. it is a place to take time with, to read about the memorials from the many regiments, and campaigns fought.
This is a must place to visit, along with the memorials there is a great shop, and restaurant.

We woke up on New Year’s Eve and decided to do something productive. I had seen the arboretum signs a few months ago and after booking a slot online headed here.
The weather was kind to us and we took a trip on the train to get a feel for what was on offer, then after a very reasonable coffee and sandwich set off on foot. Lots of lovely memorials, not all to the armed forces and very moving.
We will definitely come back, hopefully to see the blossom in the Japanese monorail as well as the poppies in the poppy field.

Incredibly humbling and a great day to spend with family. The Arboretum is a stark reminder of how lucky we are to live in a free world where so many have given their lives defending it. I was also impressed with the number of memorials dedicated to civil authorities that have also paid the ultimate price.
